For yesterday,
With my horse, she is shedding hair so a tad itchy, gave her a massage / groom and she was pulling happy faces.
A green woodpecker sat on a post watching us, we get the red, black and white ones at home but no greens, same strident call.
Home, picked a lettuce and our first homegrown tomato for the lunch salad.
Very warm and humid again, small dog was panting so I wet a towel for her to lay on.
Chicken kebabs for tea and the treat of an ice-cream for afters.
We watered the garden in the evening, thought I had lost a couple of Salvias in the extreme heat of a couple of weeks ago but we have new growth.

It's going to be another warm, sunny day here, yesterday was glorious.Pleasures today:1) What a lovely group of people you are, your thoughts and support mean so much. In hindsight, if I'd known things were going to happen so quickly I wouldn't have joined at this time to throw all this at you, so I'm glad I didn't know and I'm so glad I took the plunge. So to any other lurkers, be brave and jump in!2) An invitation to my niece's wedding next year, dress code Formal and Fabulous so definitely a posh new frock will be required. Keep up the diet, methinks, at least I've already made a start. We can combine the wedding with a few days away in a nice part of the country.3) The nights are drawing in and starting to feel more cosy. I find summer a bit 'frantic' and much prefer the gentle autumn months.4) A long walk yesterday evening with my bairn. He is back from taking his boys away, they had had a good time but he is shattered. The oldest two stayed up late and the little one was up early, and coping single-handed is hard, but they all thanked him on the way home and said they'd had a great time so all was worthwhile. He is looking at taking them maybe to Brittany next year and asked if we would like to go too. Another thing to look forward to.5) Such a good sleep last night, I'm a bad sleeper generally but my head hit the pillow last night and I was out like a light. Feel so much better today and the eye bags have gone down a bit which is a massive pleasure.Hope you all have a good day.10

Good afternoon. Lovely and sunny
Ampersand - what a lovely happy, smiley photo.
Highdays - so glad you are finding pleasures. X
Our wedding anniversary today. One more year and we get a gold medal each! Well deserved in both cases!
Took 3 big bin bags to Barnardos today. Our local shop is also a regional collection centre so they happily take everything. Glad that's out of the house, but I'm sure more will follow.
Lots of dead heading in the garden yesterday in advance of green bin day today. Nearly filled it up.
Nice long chat with DD. We've both been busy lately, but at least swapping our daily wordle scores keeps us in touch. Was good to actually speak to her though.
Happy 🌞 day everyone

Ya know…busy old busytown!Alarm woke me this morning. Usually up before it.Work. Pah! But five to go. Nice chat with DD1 before I went in.Home mid morning, hung out washing and cuddled the doggy!Back down and then home again. But a quick hello and goodbye to the doggy.
Round to mums, had estate agent coming out to mums house. Nice chap. Didn’t have to do the hard sell as I’d already kind of decided to use this one anyway.Phoned sister.Dropped off a birthday gift to colleague. It’s a very pleasant evening. Was a soggy but bright start then windy then rainy then sunny!Today was the first day I wasn’t madly clearing or sorting…just did a quick hoover, a quick dust and a quick kitchen floor wash at mums. Had windows open and a scoosh of air freshener and thought what a blooming job you’ve been doing almost everyday for past 9 weeks! Still a bit of stuff just not as much of it!9 -
Pleasures for today (Thursday)
1) Smaller son's birthday. He likes to open the presents from me at midnight, so that is what he did.
2) My sister, brother in law and niece came over this afternoon. Smaller son hates people coming to the house so stayed in his room and they whizzed the birthday cards to him under the door!
3) We watched the cycling for a bit, purely because the start was Wolverhampton so the course went past 2 of my auntie's houses (no longer with us) then past Himley Hall.
4) My mum, dad and brother were due to pop in at 5 so I sneakily left to get a Chinese takeaway so the young man would have no option but to open the door to them...
5) Chinese take away.
6) Did an hour of weeding on the allotment, which is bone dry.
Had the induction day letter from potential college for smaller son and it just gets worse. I mean, it was thoughtfully written and laid out but his sheet was in PECS (where he has no problem in reading and has never used PECS). There were about 20 things across the 2 days that he wouldn't agree to in a million years. "Wear steel toe capped boots". He has worn the same trainers for 3 years, totally broken apart but refuses to have his feet measured or try another pair. "Wear jeans or work trousers". He has 3 pairs of identical Adidas football trousers and has worn no other trousers (outside of school uniform) for 9 years. Apparently they can't wear polyester trousers. "You'll be in a small group of students". He doesn't speak to people outside of me and occasionally bigger son and hasn't been taught in a class for over 4 years. "You'll go on the minibus to the afternoon's sessions" "You'll be having 8 sessions with 8 different members of staff" "Be here before 9am"8 -
