5 OS pleasures in your day today - part 3

A beautiful clear, sunny morning here, blue sky with a few fluffy white clouds.Blessings here today, rather than pleasures perhaps:1) My mum passed away peacefully yesterday. Expected for years but unexpectedly quickly at the end if that makes sense.2) We have all pulled together - two brothers and a much younger sister - to ensure she had everything she needed, going forward we will be there to support each other.3) I had the best parents ever for 70 years, quite incredible really.4) My grandchildren are all old enough to remember their great- grandparents. We are a close family, the oldies were involved in all family get-togethers and my oldest grandson was particularly close to my dad. They were young at heart and great fun so the good memories of them will live on.And, finally, for today to end on a pleasure:5) All my life people have told me I look like my mum and I have never been able to see it. Brushing my hair this morning I looked in the mirror and for the first time ever I could see the resemblance, my mum is in here somewhere.Hope you all have a good day.12

1. &'s strawberries are flowering at last! Pink petals.
2. First full sprig of cherry tomatoes is ripe. Will have them ce soir .😋 Planting out own black cherry tomato seedlings now. Have given over 150 away - so many came up!
3. Yet another batch of marmalade done - organic rtc satsuma and lemon. Jar to oldest Northern hemisphere uni friend earlier.
4. Ambient pick-up done this morning for the Red Hen Project, 9 good crates from MrT, Milton. Noticed fuel was down 10p per litre - still 179.9, but much better than the +190.9>194.9 we've seen over the last few months. Asked nice lady - price dropped 1 minute after midnight on Monday.
5. Mighty clear ups after huge weekend - US🏈 tourney at rugby club. & will stay with 🏉 - doubt that many would last 10 minutes in a real rugby match without all their padding and stopping and short playing spells, plus 7 referees.
Also, they needed much bossing - NO STUDS INDOORS, THAT MEANS NOOOO!!!!! NOT AT ALL, NADA and -
STUDS MUST, MUST, MUST BE WORN ON THE PITCH, NO FLAT SOLES OR TRAINERS.
Such fun!🙄🤐😖 - and all obeyed &.😁
Said to S - & should have been in Raffle Harridan mode for the weekend. Club would have racked up bigly £££s.

Will hit send before yet another post disappears + pics. Happy &, after glorious Spookymens Chorale night last week. 3 long, long years we've waited for their return - and , of course, to join in singing Vote the Barstewards(otherwise mse changes it to !!!!!!!)Out plus hearing the stunning new Ukrainian folksongs.

Highdays - so sorry for your loss but what a lovely post.
Pleasures for yesterday
1. Marking is not a pleasure - getting through it is
2. washing on the line
3. watched the last 3 episodes of Neighbours - having not watched it for years / decades. Took me back
4. soup for lunch that i'd defrosted thinking it was bolognaise. That'll teach me to not believe what is written on the old butter tub containers.
5. doing a load of duolingo having been demoted two weeks running.
have a great evening all.I wanna be in the room where it happens11 -
Not an easy time for you, Highdays. We all know these events are coming, but it's always some indistinct time way in the future somewhere, so when it does happen it makes us catch our breath. Don't stress about any of the practicalities, just deal with each thing as it happens. One life - your life - live it!11

Hello. Currently dry after a day of much rain. Enjoying the fresh air with patio doors open.Up at silly o’clock but watched a dramatic start to the day as it was wild and windy and big clouds lighting up as daylight broke through.Work! Oooft but out by 10.30 am and 6 shifts to go.Walked into town to buy a birthday gift for a colleague on behalf of all of us. Had a peruse of the charity shops and got a few things.Had a peruse in M&S and currently eating their biscuits 😆
Home. Hello doggy. Get your lead we are going to granny’s. Round there for a couple of hours. Mainly out in garden till it poured. Then inside. Update on decluttering thread.Home. Went for a lie down as I’d a bit of a headache…kind of dozed/watched a schmaltzy movie/dozed/rewound/dozed/rewound /watched!!Then went back to mums once DD2 was in from work to keep an eye on doggy. Did another hour in the garden. And home and just waiting to call friend. I’ve to give her 5 minutes 😆Highdays : take care x9 -
Highdays - I hope you are doing OK. Always a shock at the end.
Pleasures for today (Wednesday)
1) Overtaken by appalling hayfever so couldn't get to sleep until after 5. A relief to get up!
2) Popped out to see if the football club had restocked the shop yet (no, which is strange considering the season starts this weekend) then went to look at a bridge where we want to set up a geocache. That was due to reopen last month and is still cordoned off!
3) Posted an Ebay parcel.
4) Went to Harvington Hall (moated manor house) afterwards for a sandwich and a cup of tea. The admission price is too much now but you can still go round the gardens and tea shop.
5) Birthday preparations are done. Smaller son likes to celebrate at midnight...
6) Sainsburys order has just been delivered.10
