For yesterday,
Didnt feel so great with a funny tum so a quiet day pottering about.
Quick trip into horsey town for a few provisions, saw the usual Monday morning regulars in the emporium, we always smile and nod to each other.
Percy the pigeon and his missus are going for another brood of chicks so there is much crashing into the hedge and pushing through to the middle where their nest is, luckily it’s in a part that Capt S has already cut.
Warm in the sunshine, washing dried in a few hours, bit of weeding done and am currently waiting on our first tomato, any day now ☺️Bit of plain fish for tea, beloved had fried LO potatoes with his and a big bowl of tiramisu for afters, I didn’t!9 -

Pleasures recently
1. A coat of paint on the walls and the skirtings on at ICT house
2. a lovely afternoon celebrating over 1000 combined years of women volunteers on the railway - i've contributed about 15 of them
3. also some lovely social times - including being in the pub watching the fabulous Lionesses
4. nice chats with DS driving home
5. cinema with my kids (where the crawdads sing - it was OK).
Night night all.I wanna be in the room where it happens9 -
Pleasures for today (Tuesday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Wanted to get tidied up ready for family popping in for smaller son's birthday later this week. Cleaned the living room properly (all furniture pulled out, dusting, cleaned the windows etc). Cleaned the bathroom and the stairs. Hoovered every room.
3) Wrapped the birthday presents - just little bits and pieces.
4) Went to canal town for the charity shops but didn't find anything.
5) On to M and S to get my free apples (courtesy of the Sparks card app) plus a cherry bakewell cake.
6) Went to the skips on the way home to clear lots of cardboard from the car. I had used a big piece to make an emergency blind for smaller son's room. Also cleared general car rubbish into the tip! And put an old pair of shoes in the recycling.
7) Nice pie for tea, courtesy of the butcher in the village. Had with cheesy mashed potato, carrots and redcurrant jelly.
8) Sold a top on Ebay. It was brand new (via a charity shop) but had been automatically going back up for sale for weeks as no one had made an offer.
9) I was asked by a local campaigner to talk to the press about smaller son's education over the years. I turned her down because a) it has been 12 years and I can't remember what happened and when and b) it is hard now to separate when it was the County Council at fault or the schools. Also, I would feel a bit of a fraud now as I have pretty much given up finding him anything for September. (He has refused to go to the induction days at the only suitable place and does not want to go there at all).
10) One for yesterday. My sister went out for the day with her university friend who had one of the kittens that our ancient cat had (she wasn't ancient at the time). We had thought she was a male until that point! It was funny to see a photo of the cat we think of as a kitten. She was asleep in an empty paddling pool and is now 14! Our old cat must be 15.9 -
For yesterday,
Early over to the yard and took my mare for a meander around the fields, most of our farmers have now got the harvest in.
She didn’t bat an eye at the baler doing its thing in the next field but had a major spook at a bird that flew up out of the hedge, pleasure was we kept company!
Home and a quick change before DSIL turned up for a trip out. We had a look around horsey town’s chazzers and I found a nice top, SIL continues with her complete wardrobe purchase following a 3st weight loss and picked up quite a few bits.
Lunch out, lovely salads and we shared some SP fries.
It got very warm and humid later in the day, all windows open to the breeze coming off the field, the bats were out at just gone 9pm and chasing the insects.9 -
