Not posted for a while, so some recent pleasures:
Elbow healing although big toe is still swollen and painful 😖, think I may have broken that too!
OHs dad’s funeral went well. It wasn’t traditional, more a celebration of his life, no hymns or prayers, all three of his grandchildren spoke as they all idolised him, tears at that and also at the playing of ‘You Are the Sunshine of my Life ‘ at the end as he was a sun worshipper. OH enjoyed catching up with two of his cousins whom he hadn’t seen for years.
I cooked kokinisto (Greek red stew) which we had 2 nights running, bringing back memories of our lovely holiday.
Watched the lionesses 🏴 match, fantastic and had picky bits to eat.
Happy Monday all 😊8 -
Good morning. Sunny!
A special hello to absent friends. I hope all is well x
Spent part of yesterday ( too long really!) cutting a new roller blind down to size. It'll be easy, said I. It has vertical stripes so we can just cut along a line. Well, that would work if it had been cut right in the first place! After much scratching of heads we realised the stripes were running off at the sides!! Fortunately they are pale beige lines in a slightly lighter background so it doesn't look too bad, I hope.
Although I have virtually zero interest in football, I'm glad to have been around long enough to see England win two major trophies. With a certain wry smile at how women's football is now embraced by men who thought it was a silly idea.
Treated ourselves to some new bed linen yesterday. We've had plain white for years so this is quite adventurous - a muted taupe check.
Watching the new Virgin River series. It's ok so far but not as hooked as I was with the earlier ones. Perhaps it's me!
Happy 🌞Monday everyone

For Saturday,
Good start as had boiled egg with marmite soldiers for breakfast.
Over to see the beautiful grey one, gave her a groom then a walk in hand.
First game of the season for the U’s and first win against one of the title contenders, good stuff.
A cheeky Chinese takeaway.
Watched an old episode of Vera.
and for yesterday,
We did have some rain, so welcome as there has been precious little lately.
Did manage a bit of pottering in the garden in between showers, mainly picking up the apples fallen from the tree, too small and hard to do anything with unfortunately.
Duck in orange sauce with new pots and green veg for lunch. Also made a Lammas Eve loaf.
Early walk as we had a footie match to watch, the juvenile kestrels were out and hunting above the field.
Last but by now means least the England Lionesses who succeeded in winning a major trophy, so refreshing to watch a match without the play acting and general nastiness that can spoil the men’s game, lessons to be learnt?
Happy Lammas to you all 🌻🌞8 -
99 Deal! Flakey?
Take them bonus years! Jen has a

We has a sign on the boo tick here that says Discount Surplus Store price with the boo tick quality! What the boo tick soes not know, is the Albatross was inn last day late and the fresh fruit and veg was all most gone. Inn the boo tick, it is days old. Now ons with your version of the life of the Admiral. We dids nor has the barbecue on SatDay as it was murky, to murky, so had indoor barbecue on the grill! Sticky chicken with a snorker, and bitser salsa too top it! Bitsers for mewbies is left over things in the refrigerator that has lasted all weak from the discount surplus store, see above, things like onions, peppers, mushrooms etc chopped up and added to the sauce! Served deliciously!
Then we sat and watched the second act of Ariadne auf Naxos. Wobbleades and cheeses were taken as well!
Up early on SunDae to the Jim two kept my beech ready lucks. Bit tuff this day, butt stretched it out. All supple and good!
Then I has to repare the slats on the Admiral's bed! I managed to brake to of them this time. Kitty was watching as the saw and drill soon has the slats back toogather! The Albatross tuck two changing the bedding as well!
Then has a decent bakewall tart and cup of tee as we can on the plaza!
Then rubbed myself and did the Apple and Raspberry grumble, with chicken and mushroom pie for SunDae luncheon! Proper food with instant from milk lumpy custard, not the foam version from the kettle!
Note how the Admiral warps the lid on the roller!
Done and served proper, strait out off the pan as well! No mess!
Note that the Grumble will brew in the refrigerator this weak until next SunDae! I doubt it will lasty longer than that!
As noted above, the Albatross visited the discount surplus store late on SunDae and gets sum barley flavoured pop, We had a Mazza two watch on the box! The Seven Year Itch Wobbleade and cheeses were taken as well! I did not knews that one of teh actresses in that movie is still around this day!

Big working days done! Hu-blooming-rah! ( just four small ones to do )
Right! Up early. Time with the doggy until time to go to work.Home briefly mid morning. Then boom! Crazy day. We were filled within a minute of opening! It was so absurd I laughed…though think it was probably nervous laughter!Excellent tips!Home and hello doggy. He had his tea and I had a shower.Jammies on. The plan had been to go round to mums to weed…eh no said the pouring rain I think you should just stay home! Okay!Chicken, rice and veggies for tea.Remembered I had chocolate cheesecake to finish. Only me that likes it!It’s actually quite nice hearing the rain on the velux windows. It’s a nice sound. Wearing a jumper as it feels quite cool ( after spending the day being roasted at work!)
Going upstairs to tidy my room ( lord, I sound like I’m nine!) but need to put laundry away and iron some linen shirts.6 -
Can't believe i haven't posted since 20th - busy yes but also rather unexpected news about DD1's health has knocked us all for 6. The poor thing has a very poorly liver - cause not yet known, Dutch health care is amazing and her work very sympathetic. She's got friends going out this month. I've booked flights for September but have said i can drop everything to come out earlier. She's told her brother to look after his liver in case she needs a slice - we will find out more 15th August but so far all infectious / lifestyle causes have been ruled out so thinking must be autoimmune. DD1 and I are learning a lot of new words - Childs Pott score (a), varices (3), banding, autoimmune hepatitis ... Meantime total chaos in the house with DD2 (got a full time job hooray) moving from front to back bedroom, mum moving into front bedroom later this month (eek), ds moving to new job down south, needing to leave his stuff here while he finds somewhere to live (more eek), mr piano still having stuff here. I had a total melt down Saturday but stress levels are rather high. told my dean today and he has of course said to me to take off any time i need. Will carry on for now. As always though there are always good things, so for the weekend
1) trip to Broughty Ferry with mum to confirm blinds order, pay for carpet and bounce on mattresses. then we went for lunch
2) then over the river for friend's bbq birthday party in Tayport Community Gardens - gorgeous day, some people there I hadn't seen since before lockdown.
3) very much enjoying the commonwealth games
4) after church mum came back here and I cooked a very nice lunch - the 3rd hello fresh from my neighbour who hadn't got round to cancelling and had gone to stay with his son
5) and last but not least bop it's come home. Dr M pointed out we'll have to watch even more football now - we'll be there tomorrow for gers' internationalMrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

I haven't caught up yet on posts.
1 Found our ideal and perfect home but to get it we would have to gazzump and we aren’t doing it – thou I am tempted, so the search continues.
2 We are in our happy place in Wales, tonight I watched the sun setting, and a dog fish feeding in the tide coming in from the estuary. I don’t think we are far from where Paulie? was, we will be visiting Picton Gardens when Wales is a bit less busy later in the year
3 Didn’t know we needed a change of scenery but its definitely been fun.
4 The CS shops here seem to cater more towards animals than at home, so far they have a childs fleece onesie for a pound, a couple of very soft beds for £3
5 We found a treacle tart, I’ve hidden it in the fridge, I know it’s bad for us but well, I’m about to make a hot milk baileys.

Goodness me, DD, that sounds very worrying. And all the moving of rooms and people as well.
Pleasures for today (Monday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Went to Ludlow for the charity shops and to buy birthday bits.
3) I tried to gesticulate to a lady in front of me at the petrol station that she had left her petrol flap open. I had to do a little tootle of the horn as well. She couldn't see what I was trying to say. Another lot of waving and pointing. Then I got out of the car and she looked absolutely terrified and said, "Oh, I'm sorry, I am moving out of the space!" This surprised me so much (I don't think I look very menacing) that I couldn't remember the English word for petrol flap so ended up pointing again and saying feebly, "Your tiny petrol door is open" !
4) Meatballs and tomato sauce for tea.
5) Watered the tomatoes and pots outside.
6) Went with my brother to a survey near Hereford. Went to find a geocache then had a look at the Norman church while he was working.10
