Hello.Early start. So out we went a very nice walk. Just us and the birds.Round at mums by 7am. And again around 1pm. Update on declutter thread.
into town with DD2. She was getting nails done. I hate these places. They actually give me the heebie jeebies.I went to a coffee shop and wiled away an hour there. Chatted to owners then met an old colleague so chatted to her and her husband.
Took doggy with me to mums.
Had a chat to DD1.It’s been so blowy here today. Bed stripped and remade in a couple of hours.8 -
Halfway to Christmas so it must be my birthday! Not the weather I usually expect.
Pleasures for today (Saturday)
1) A lie in.
2) My brother walked up with the dog to say hello.
3) Barry reappeared and his abscess is healing nicely. Had not seen him for a few days. He is still asleep on the sofa.
4) Tidied up a bit, made coleslaw, prepared tea, made raspberry Eton Mess and chocolate brownies.
5) Mum and dad came round briefly then went to the evening bit of a wedding.
6) My sister, brother in law and niece came for tea.
7) Just spoke to my school friend on the phone.
8) Hoping to watch Casualty, if it is on. Might have some cheese and biscuits. Strange to have a day of eating after 9 weeks on the Blood Sugar Diet!6 -

I hope it's ok to jump on here mid-thread? I've been inspired by @mhagster to venture over here.
Yesterday's old-style pleasures:
Dog is on the mend, slowly improving through the day (you'll have to imagine the back story, but he is an old boy so I've had a fraught couple of days stressing about him). Unexpectedly the vet turned up on my doorstep having checked his bloods results and discovering an infection. She was dropping off antibs for him. Amazing service.
Dog is on 3 different meds for now and is co-operatively taking them so long as they're embedded in cheese. So his heart and infection conditions are improving but heaven knows what his cholesterol will be like. This is a pleasure because he's previously gone full cat when trying to give him tablets.
The roses in my garden are astonishing - I think this every year. An old rambler has scrambled 20 feet up a tree and its scent fills my garden and the adjoining avenue.
Another little band of fledglings are currently fluttering around the garden. My garden is a bit, er, overgrown, but fortunately surrounded by high walls and hedges so the bird life is thriving in here. I've lost count of how many nest fulls have been raised so far this year. Blackbirds, sparrows and robins.
Some unexpected, unsolicited, much needed support for one of my children who is living on the other side of the world.

Hello wildrose. Good to see you. You'll like it here. Lots of lovely people.
Late happy birthday, Frith.
Up early this morning ( not Mhags early!) And watched Madame Butterfly on Sky Arts. Having been to see Miss Saigon twice, it was good to see the inspiration. Beautiful.
We have jasmine growing along the wall by the back gate. The scent as you come into the garden is heavenly.
Breakfast with DD and partner yesterday and more excitable cruise planning, esp from DD and me! A shopping trip is on the cards! Not very MSE I suppose but MSE ways have helped to save up for it.
Prawn stir fry for tea so that's easy. Followed by strawberries and ice cream. Easier still!
Happy Sunday everyone

Hello!
Big worky day one done. Hurrah! One more to go. I know I only work two days but they are so full on! And they come round so quickly particularly at the moment.Awake before my alarm went off at very early o’clock. Quick doggy walk. Then the rain came on. It’s been wild here today. Not at all summery.Tips were meh but more than I came in with. Banked tips on Friday so starting afresh today…though need to locate another jar as I filled the empty one with roses from mums garden on Friday. Was a bit later home as I went to boss house after work. Sat chatting and cuddling her wee doggy.Home and a big hello from my own doggy!9 -
Sue how are you doing? Are you starting to feel better yet?Wildrose this is a good place to come and write down your five things that have made you happy or made you smile. I’ve been writing here ( in a diarised format ) for 12 years. I think we’ve all laughed and cried with each other over the years and most certainly offered support when needed. We share the sad times with the good times.9
