Pleasures for today (Tuesday)
1) A broken sleep. Had a very strange dream then dreamed my brother was on a ladder, tapping on my window. Woke up and it was a crow!! Glared at it then went back to sleep and into another dream.
2) Picked raspberries and more redcurrants.
3) Posted an Ebay parcel. 2 more to send tomorrow.
4) Weight is the same as last week, despite birthday meals and bits.
5) Vaguely tidied up. Half of bedding brought in from the line.
6) Went to floody city in the afternoon. Tried the charity shops on our side of the river but nothing there. Took some trousers back to White Stuff (as I found 2 pairs of summer trousers in the charity shops the day after buying them!) They put the money back in the bank, which I was not expecting. Then thought I would try the one charity shop on the way back to the car and found a brand new WS top in there! Got some petrol then had a cup of tea in Waitrose.
7) I had a mushroom and chestnut hotpot for tea and I warmed yesterday's pizza slices up for smaller son and did hm potato wedges. Also raspberry Eton Mess for his pudding.
8) Sat with the cat to watch the Williams/Tan match.
9) Smaller son has agreed to go with me to look round the potential new college tomorrow. I am not allowed to announce his presence or get a lanyard or a proper tour so it might be a quick afternoon! It is all arts and crafts plus a farm and a canal boat. I wouldn't mind going there myself (I know quite a few people who would be interested). It's not really smaller son's thing but there is literally nowhere else...7 -
Pleasures for Tuesday
Pupster had a lie in and woke me after 9.
Met friend for a shaded walk in the forest with the pup.
Friend treated me to lunch.
Bolognaise bake for dinner.
Watched Sherwood.

Good morning . Sunny one too
Ampersand - thank you. The cruise is not until September but DD and I are already giddy.
Mhagster - you are a force of nature.
And D Doll - you're not far behind ( but Mhags definitely wins in the early morning stakes!)
Had to take car to garage for a recall. Which council could think it a good idea to close one road and have two sets of traffic lights on the alternative route? Ours!! That's which! So took the best part of an hour to do a 15 min journey.
DH was ready to trade the car in for an old banger and do his own repairs. Then he got the courtesy car. A TT quattro. I think that made up for everything. He always had sports cars pre children so he was a happy bunny for a day!
Going to the caravan today. With one thing and another we've hardly been this year and so are giving serious thought to its future. And we already know there are major roadworks on the M62 at Howden so that looks like being another fun journey! But I know I'll love it all over again when we get there.
Happy Wednesday everyone

Pleasures for today (Wednesday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Tidied the house a bit, loads of washing done/being done, cleaned the bathroom.
3) We went to the potential new college! We snooped around outside, saw no one (thank goodness) and looked at where their canal boat is moored. Total refusal to set foot inside, even in to the (public) nice cafe. Got home and he is completely against going to college again, at any point...
4) Cat continues to get better and sat between on us on the sofa, watching Wimbledon.
5) Looking forward to the final of Great British Sewing Bee.10 -
Hello all,
I'm going to join you here and start posting 5 OS pleasures a day, if I may? Sou ds like a really good idea, finding 5 good points for every day.
So today...
1. Was working at home after a busy day away at a conference yesterday, which was lovely and so much less tiring.
2. Great dog walk for about an hour and a half along the river this evening. Rain held off, dog had great fun and it cleared my head.
3. Was able to have a little nap at lunchtime which made the afternoon much more manageable.
4. Had a good 1-1 with my manager this morning.
5. Did my end of month totting up, and I'm actually £10 better off than I thought I was!Live the good life where you have been planted.

Goodness me, & finds self in Shardlow, in a little tuckaway corner 150ish miles from &squatland. What a day!
😀Welcome to this happy thread, Elisheba👋. Rants are set free here at times, too - a very osp and necessary release sometimes.
1. More h-g raspberries picked over recent days, some eaten.
2. About now P and J should be out of Alicante airport, heading home after their 48 albion hours. Good and appropriate farewells for J's mummy. Wonderfully, it all worked and we have met for the first time since October 2019 and had time together this arvo before takeoff. Handed over the much-travelled October birthday token which went all the way to Spain in August, arrived back with & in December. They are super-pleased with contents.
3. &'s Bank machinations with NZ Manchester Unity continue. &'s proof of Indefinite Leave to Remain is in an ancient early 80s Aotearoa passport - a faded stamped sentence at the foot of a page.....which modern systems can't recognise, compute, accept. & wants real people. Try tmrw for one of those.
4. Soddit moments as fuel £s ticked over and up, another £70.02 for 40 litres, but for once, this impromptu & away day felt right - long overdue, no voluntary anythings, no rotas, no last minute 'Is there any chance you could......?' Then a sudden 'Hello!' with another Spitalfields kiwi, each of us wondering what on earth the other was doing there.😁 Big chat exchanged and useful things.
5. Much watering, re-tying, staking all done around 5 bells before setting off, just in time for over an hour of steady rain, of course. 1st hour driven with wipers on.

Hello. Bedtime! Had just started watching Sewing Bee when my friend phoned so I’m just going to catch up now in bed but may fall asleep! ( highly likely😀)
Another blooming busy day! I’m a very exhausted force of nature Happycas! But it needs to be done and it seems like it’s only me to do it!Anyway up early. DD2 was at a wedding yesterday and slightly worse for wear when she came in last night so could I please take her to work ( with a suppose so but you're spoiling my plans and also means I’d to collect her!)Anyway dropped her off ( torrential rain and big coat on) went to big supermarket to get caffeine free DC. Then went to solicitor but then had to wait till they were open. Whereas I’d have grabbed some charity shop stuff and went to solicitor if my day was going as planned!Back home, grabbed doggy went round to mums. Posted on declutter thread.Back home. Dropped doggy off. Hung out a washing , put another one on.Back to mums. Chatted to a nearby neighbour. Loaded car. Went to tip.Back to mums! Stuff in car that a friend is wanting. Nipped next door to see mums neighbour…I’m just here for 5 minutes…one hour later, she’s worried about me. I’m fine. Just a bit scunnered this week.Back home, hello doggy let’s go and hang out the next load of washing.
Niece called. Chatted for half an hour.Fed dog. May have dozed for 20 minutes. Then hit rush hour traffic to pick up DD2. Dropped her home to go straight back out for a work meeting! Which went on a tad longer than id anticipated!Home and made some toast, pulled some weeds, rescued my hollyhocks that had been blown over in yesterday feral wind and rain. Came inside switched on the telly…
Found ( having already cleared it in week one ) stuff in the airing cupboard that my sister had put ‘away’ anyway one of the things was a big grey boucle fleecy blanket that’s very cosy and smelled like my mum who usually smelled nice. It was like being wrapped in a hug from her…except she didn’t do hugging! Also picked more hydrangeas! I cut them with a ha…you can’t tell me ‘that’s enough’. I’ve got little posies all over the place.10 -
Pleasures for Wednesday

craft group afternoon tea.
Chat & laughter at the craft group.
1 cucumber on my plant- nothing on the other one.

Warm welcome to Elisheba
For the last couple of days,
Capt S on a weeks holiday so lots of time together.
We spent Monday on the Suffolk / Essex border, Constable country.
Visit to Flatford Mill and I took the ubiquitous picture of Willy Lott’s cottage
Small dog came with us and thoroughly enjoyed a ramble through the Dedham vale.
Took a picnic and found a shady spot to enjoy.
Stopped off on way home at local country park and the treat of an ice-cream.
Reading in bed with an early morning cuppa.
Quieter day at home on Tuesday so small dog could catch up on her snoozes.
We headed out to lunch at nearby pub, landlord is avid collector of clocks and they are all set at slightly different time so lots of chiming!
Bit of gardening, mostly dead heading and watering.
Baby blackbirds being fed on the grass.
