Lovely photo @LaineyT, I love Dedham Vale.
Yesterday's pleasures:
Charm of goldfinches in the hedge beside my seating area in the garden. Lovely sight and sound.
Baby blackbird just outside my back door when I first went out in the early morning. It's like some kind of avian nursery here.
Dug out a big clump of bamboo, roots and all. This is an ongoing project, every clump out is an achievement.
The Dog walk of course, complete with a lovely chat to an old boy by the river.
Watching the final of Sewing Bee, one of my favourite programmes.

This week has been busy, one night shift, one day shift with a 400 mile round trip between the two for my step mother's funeral. Like most funeral days, Wednesday had its share of pleasures amidst the sadness, with getting together with family members I hadn't seen for ages, and entering the crematorium behind the coffin to a beautiful instrumental version of Amazing Grace. The service was simple but lovely, and we finished with a recording of One Day At a Time, Sweet Jesus, a song that is so appropriate for all of us regardless of our religion or lack of it. I was pleased with the florist's interpretation of what I wanted - mainly purple, touches of blue, rosemary and lavender sprigs included. Drive back in the evening, stopping for a brief break and emergency burger (with cheese and bacon, scrumptious), home in good time to get unpacked and prep for work.
Off work now for 12 days, so anticipated pleasures for today....
This lie in I am having, musing on the strange dream I had before waking up. Apparently I was a burlesque queen called Cassidy Blue, and I was sorting among all these gorgeous gowns trying to decide what to wear.
Stroll with dog in park always a pleasure, seeing her joy in running around and sniffing everything. Hopefully we will meet a doggy friend so she can play chasing games.
Due to the busyness of the week so far, it has been a few days since I have done anything like housework. I am looking forward to going round the house sorting it out and getting it freshened up again. Yes, I know, strange, but I love order and tidiness.
My boy cats finished all their breakfast this morning. They can be so picky sometimes, sniffing it and walking away on occasions or, in the case of the ginger boy, not even bothering to show up in the first place, because he has claimed his snooze spot for the day on my bed.
Practising for tonight's choir gig, get the vocal chords tuned up.
Tonight's gig, a church charity event. That will be nine gigs I have done in three months.
Son going away for the weekend so some time to myself.
