"My pension forecast letter arrived. For the elections work I do every few years, I am going to get an annual pension of £12.37!" Frith think how many 30p meals you could cook for that
belated birthday greetings
Well the last 4 days have been soooo busy, quick update
Friday
1) graduation day and I'm on the stage for the Dean but first i had to call in at M&S cos I had forgotten I had done a Marie Kondo of my wardrobe during 1st lockdown and had no white shirt!
2) Then back for prize giving which was fabulous - gbf kindly came and took photos for which he was handsomely rewarded with a book token and lunch
3) then off to the Tower to practise all those names againhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s2T4Wi2hsCI took 40 minutes to present all 265 to the chancellor
4) then off to the Garden Party - lots of celebrating with prosecco
5) then off to the Airlie Bar with life sciences friends for G&T and gossip. during which DrM texted to invite me to join them for drinks up at Mennies. texted back i might be a bit pi*hed, could wobble my way up, he gave a thumbs up so off i went complete with gown! so a very good day all round
Saturday
1) long lie in then long soak in the bath
2) trotted up to St Martin's (about 45 mins walk) for friends' installation as their part time priest - lovely service followed by buffet lunch
3) after some housework off to Perth as one of my phd students who had come back from Sri Lanka with his family for graduation was having a garden party thrown by his friends - very good
4) yummy food and great dancing bollywood style courtesy of my current Pakistani student
5) and a lovely fire pit with marshmallows
Sunday
1) church followed by coffee and Mr T
2) rather tired so after lunch went to bed with a good book
3) then trotted down to the Cathedral as friend getting installed as our outreach priest (same friend, two .5 posts)
4) after which we had a congregational meal by candlelight - one of our choir is a great cook - a celebration of our new priest and also, delayed due to covid restrictions, our provost one year in
5) as lay rep I was asked to give a speech of welcome for them both which i gladly did - much less stressful than graduation!
Monday
1) walking up to ninewells a merc quietly stopped next to me - was my colleague in his new car that he'd collected Friday!
2) happily said yes to a lift, very smooth
3) lunch with members of the team and 3 saudi visitors
4) stayed late, got my talk finished while following the Raducanu match
5) home to much of the Murray match then the Watson match
and now for some serious zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

For yesterday,
Capt S has the week off but today was a necessary chores / admin kind of day so food shop first thing.
Posted a 1st birthday card for my great nephew, the days march away.
Over at the yard and lovely farrier trimmed my girl’s feet, the lack of recent rain and tough ground has subsequently really hardened them up so all muscles needed! She stood dozing while he did all the work.
Watered all pots, have baby toms and the salad leaves are going mad so we are eating every day, more roses and sweet peas picked for the house.
Capt S received a cheese hamper for a late Fathers Day present so tea was lots of cheese, grapes and a glass of wine, well we are on holiday 🤭9 -
Roast Peppers!
Work email. When I wents back after Jen was fitted, I just deleted the lot. If it was important, they'd get back two me!
Eights!
Chips for tea!
Risotto.
Ms DD and people bee inn bopped on the head!
And Cheese!We Ran Again!
We has the prawns inn Hosed Inn sauce last nite for dinner, with sliced peppers and cut onions! Very good than moor strawbs and a club biscuit!
Went out for provisions at the Discount Surplus Store. They had all we needed and moor. Topped up the marmite as well!
Home too watch a movie on the flix system. The Man from Toronto. Recommended as it is new on the stream. Wobbelade and cheese was taken. Kitty has her snoozes on her dad and was treated with her pawsome pockets from the discount surplus store!
Has the golden flakes of corn inn ice milk for brakefest and tee. Saw the Albatross off! No Land Speed Record attempt this day DfV!
Now set with me mug of tee and cheeses selection weight inn for a call! Moor on that later!
Just seen Mr Kemp on the twitter! He remarks about Combat Stress. I can vouch for their work with some comrades in arms around here! Such a shame MSM are so carp about it. 198 years of the Vagrancy act to removed old soldiers of the Napoleonic wars off the street and still the same old S 1 stuff. Actual words wood has the Admiral in 7 day gaol!!!!)
Jen is do inn her strut!
Bare that inn mind?I work from home so my cat can be fed on demand!10 -
Ooh Dr DD where's your floppy hat? Love the bash over the head.
I'm afraid i've not really read back but hugs to all who need or want them.
Pleasures recently (warning - glastonbury heavy)
1. Arrived and pitched, decamped and got home with no technical hitches.
2. fabulous bands - too many to list but favourites were Self Esteem, McFly (yes, really), Billie Eilish, Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds
3. Fabulous food as ever, although one day i had fish and chips and then later chips!
4. no mud and not too hot (except for arrival day)
5. Fabulous people.
have a good day all - normal service will be resumed soon.
I wanna be in the room where it happens8 -
Yesterday's (Monday's) pleasures:
Early morning dog walk across the fields. I love early morning. Dog broke into a lollop at one point which was good to see.
Lovely chat with DD2 including the apparently hilarious fact that, after hearing about telephone scams "which mostly affect older people", GS (7yr) said "We must tell Grandma!"
Delicious pitta for lunch, stuffed with lo roast veg & lo chicken. Much of the ys organic chicken had been used to tempt Dog to eat, was supposed to be a treat for me.
Enjoyed the penultimate episode of Sherwood.

The most ridiculously rubbish sleep and an alarm clock going off at 3.45am and I am absolutely cream crackered 😴
Very quick doggy walk at early o’clock. Was just a bit light but very wet and cloudy. In to work for an hour.Went up to mums early. Filled car with stuff for tip. Had it all ready to go. Then went back again, we have to make an appointment online and chap was a tad confused as my appointments were back to back…told him I’ve already been as I’ve such a wee car. Update on declutter thread. Then into town for charity shop drop off. Then home for a hot shower as I was soaked through. Then a call from work. And a mad dash of back and forth of delivering a pallets worth of boxes. My wee car certainly working today. May have had a piece of cake as a ‘ reward ‘
Then doggy and I back round to mums for more !However a nice posy of roses and hydrangeas in a jug.Back home. Hello bed where I was watching something but then had a good snooze! I am so tired today.Weather has been abysmal I actually had my wooly hat on this afternoon unloading the pallet. Wild and wet and very windy.
Tomorrow is another day !10 -
