Quick pleasures for today (Monday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Phoned smaller son's college to see if he can do half a day tomorrow. They have Ofsted in the next 3 days.
3) Bigger son and his girlfriend came round to extend the bed in their van.
4) I sent photos of the abscesses to the vet (lucky her!) and we agreed I can just keep an eye on the cat for now. It looks awful.
5) Went to the library to use the computers to send in my references for a voluntary post.
6) Just picked 2 Chinese takeaway containers of raspberries.11 -

Back from my holibags, caught up on all your posts. My condolences to both Nargle and Frith and many many hugs to DfV.
1) holibags was fab - gbf is the best at organising, it was our first holiday together and we shared a twin room - worked very well. As recommended by DrM we bought the June 9 Euro all public transport except ICE (intercity express) - what a bargain!!!
2) Sunday we walked (25k steps) round the English Garden then after a freshen up back in the hotel went to Munich National Theatre for the Masked Ball
3) Monday we went to the Nymphenburg Palace then walked round the grounds - beautiful - then a lovely Bavarian meal in a Bavarian beer cellar
4) Tuesday we went on the train to Starnburg for a boat trip on the lake - was hot and sunny and beautiful
5) Wednesday we caught the train to Oberau then a bus to Oberammagau where we were joined by 2 uni friends of gbf
6) Corpus Christi, treated to a wonderful procession which finished in the village square right outside our hotel - very good view from our 1st floor rooms - then the Passion Play - amazing - 2.5 hours then 3 hours dinner break than 2.5 hours - highly recommend
7) Friday back to Munich, said goodbye to gbf's friends, then off to the market and another meal and a final Aperol spritz
8) Saturday back to Blighty - 32 degrees in Munich! mum brought the boys home, I ordered a taxi to a friend's bbq which was 22 mins away so taxi not cheap. got lost on the way, phoned DrM he said we were very close and he'd come fetch me. taxi driver sweetie, told DrM I was an absolute treasure and should be looked after. too right ;-) we booked him for going home (DrM and MrE had come earlier by bus) and DrM paid, giving a very generous tip and came in for a cuppa. so inch by inch... but then i fear i bored him with work sigh. he did say he'd text me about going for a drink later in the week, but i'll not hold my breath as there is nooooo football!
Friday I am being the dean for graduation and reading out all the names - i have the list to practise!!!
and here's me at Munich's National Theatre with my Bellini next to the bust of another Bellini. CheersMrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

DD - holiday sounds great.
1. Painkillers. I had somehow managed to pull muscles in my ribs. No idea how.
2. Work was thankfully quiet.
3. Slow wander round the garden when I got home.
4. Ordered some flip flops as a pair had broken.
5. An early night. I felt exhausted.10 -
Your holibobs sounded wonderful DD and lovely photo. For yesterday,
Food shopping, pleasure of a quiet store and a few rtc bargains.
Over to see my pony who accidentally head butted me on the nose, saw stars for a bit and made my eyes water a treat, not the first time it has happened and won’t be the last, like trodden on toes it’s a hazard of horse ownership. Pleasure was no blood and arnica is sorting out the bruise.
A parcel of SH books in the post.
Lovely friend came with her mobile dog grooming van so small dog had a real pamper, I sat in the garden and watched a hummingbird moth on the honeysuckle.
Nut burger for tea with fried up LO potatoes, followed by melon & yoghurt.
Merry Midsummer to all x12 -
A fabulous holiday indeed, DD, even a change of surroundings is refreshing.
Echoing Lainey's wish for a happy summer solstice day for all. No need to cry about days getting shorter, though, we have the rest of this month, all of July and August to come yet. Lots of long warm summer days ahead.
Pleasures yesterday...
Uplifting Choir session, started a new song that's going to be a stunner.
Easy lunch of pasta with bolognaise from the freezer stash.
Washing on the line, washed using an Ecoegg, a decent result saving on detergent and contributing to saving the planet too.
As ever, a relaxing walk with dog in the park. Her favourite bush in the park is a base of hawthorn, with other plants growing through it - blackberry, wild rose and honeysuckle. The roses and honeysuckle are in flower, it looks and smells gorgeous. The dog likes it because there are always birds nesting in there so lots of interesting cheeps and chirps.
Fresh clean bedlinen to sleep in.
A mini ice cream on a stick, hit the spot beautifully.
Plans for stepmum's funeral next week coming together. Daughter taking white roses from her garden. She has cracked it. White rose is the flower for stepmum's star sign, (She would have been 92 next month)One life - your life - live it!11 -

Freezer search produced small liver in gravy and small meatballs in tomatoey sauce. Put both together and served with vegetable rice. Was another delicious, but never to be repeated, meal.
Caught up with Silent Witness. Ready to start Sherwood tonight. Just over the county border from here so should be interesting.
Happy very 🌞🌞🌞day everyone9 -
Hello. Bedtime. Been a long day.Woke up at early o’clock, even though I didn’t have to. Just my body clock.Doggy walk.Chat with neighbour and her lovely doggy.Round to mums, had rubbish ready to go and went through more photos. There are millions.
Tip run.
Supermarket for stuff for tea tonight. Then had a work meeting.Son called to say he’d arrived home. The expensive way. As his flights were cancelled, had to pay for another way home ( er…I mean I paid!) and then had to get a very expensive taxi from one side of London to the other as there were no trains! But he’s home and he’s back to work tomorrow. Then it was time to dash back out again. Was having afternoon tea with old work colleagues. Tears and laughter as always.I took some leftover cakes home for tea. Had a lovely drive home. Through stunning countryside.Hello doggy. I know it’s your teatime. Then friend was here for her birthday tea. I didn’t eat much as had eaten in afternoon but did manage a birthday cupcake!A very full on day. But lots of nice things happened and always nice to share time with friends.10
