nargleblast - I adore the "if you ignore the sugar, butter and golden syrup they are seriously healthy" idea!villagelife - the young can turn down treats when they think they'll spoil it - it's hugely endearing & generous & perceptive of them, but then what do you with young person?! Oh my - a really stunning garden - sometimes the question what you do you do with <fantasy sum of money> and rather than be sensible I think immediately of a garden and an orchard, and a cherry tree collection, all with space to expand and the personnel to lay it out & make it & keep it glorious. When really being thorough, I require the paths to be at least one wheelchair wide with passing places and there to be assorted benches & a tastefully concealed accessible convenience.VJsmum - I think that is the hitch of having the bonus knowledge. It's almost no use on University Challenge & it matters fiercely to about 3 other people, but strangely not your nearest & dearest. 'Ich bin fix und fertig', eh? That's going to startle someone in the future, I can feel it. <happy grin>PaulieHerts - wear your sunglasses into the dentist, sprawl in the chair as if it were facing the full sun & pretend hard you're back in Lesvos? The laundry will all get done eventually - there are seriously no prizes for getting it all done in the first 72 hours (my sons would empty drawers to show me "look, all put away" as the drawer contents went into the wash basket...)Admiral - roadworks are the council's way of proving their incompetence while ensuring their staff can rack up enough overtime to afford Christmas.. Happy steaming!mhagster - I am shocked a pharmacy would decline meds - I thought they rather had to (unless its sharps). Bravo leaving DD2 to learn about shoe cupboards. Rubbishy films can be good for you!Purple kitten - DH may be chuckling about your sleep vocabulary for several weeks, but to set an extra alarm is to excuse all! May there be more comfortable afternoons all round.Broomstick - flagged floors eat china, but in the heat they are a complete blessing. (Baby sis, in her nappy-&-floppy-hat, would roll happily then crawl back into sunlight...)Frith - too hot to barbeque & indeed amazing exploding cat?! Ulp.Hoping that is a one-off. Magpie alarm clock?! Its is very disconcerting to hear the thud, as a bird gets it solidly wrong.topsyturphy - a pup is to cuddle. Getting the urine sample means always having the clean vessel handy (sis recalls walks with a teacup & cling film) but you do only need a couple of teaspoonsful.Beautiful rose, LaineyT. Oooh, a melon.. Whats not to love about a helpful dog & a cleaned out water feature?!Happycas you know my machine-assisted quirks too well! It's on what device the thoughts are gathered & whether the blighter will let you copy & paste elsewhere, let alone add images & links. Spain? Coming home almost more of the same but in less exotic language. (Still remember & love the pesetas with holes in. My funds for my round in bracelet form.)OS Pleasures recentlyAnother email, from an outdoor Activewear brand “survive this summer”. Again, I chuckle as I hit unsubscribe - they don’t know. The boys have grown. In size & in wisdom. Youngest grouched at me heading straight for an assistant, who led us straight to the head of menswear, but he’s got an absolutely right-fitting smart M&S suit jacket, I have the outlet store discount & peace of mind & he’s been passed by someone whose professional sartorial judgement is their day job. In the carpark I explained suits have nuances I do not understand but the chap did & son, having seen himself transformed (& back!), acknowledged that my insistence on asking for help made sense. (Saved us hours & temper & money too!)Middleson seems confident his suit just needs a new shirt (on the list, found, ticked off) but has agreed to check (& Polish!) his work boots. Meanwhile he is rustling like a cowboy and scrunching biscuits under the racket of the packaging! (A present from my boss - very smart woman!)Youngest asked how long should slippers last? Not having a clue, I gazed at his & yelped - the soles were in tatters! Father’s Day Hallmark nonsense is good for Something - there’s a splendid choice of slippers available. Build quality uncertain, but a broad range & he’s now puttering happily in the new Slippers of Righteousness. Diary marked for any Sad Fart correspondence…Happily watching Kenobi & enjoying it, while a bit of me wants someone beside me muttering “just Sterlings with a bit of nonsense round the muzzle” at every Stormtrooper… There is a whole stack of war movies we will watch without the webbing-&-accoutrements mutterings… He didn’t write notes, or letters. Just muttered. Then made things that someone of the time could just pick up & use. From 15th century through to a prop weapon for a SF cosplayer.Has anyone swapped old for new stamps yet? Does it have to be 1st for 1st, 2nd for 2nd? As the funeral post is going 1st (just ‘feels right’ even if not MS) & the new 1st are elegant purple but Big! To see you over the barcode, the queens head is a full inch tall! The order of service is calm, clear & full of good memories. Each copy costs as much as a fancy coffee but they are Right - there’s nothing to shock or flinch at, it’s all a life full of good things. We’ve agreed a “costume check” so we can try everything & still have time if trousers or boots or whatever Doesn’t Fit. (Except my dress, so I am continuing eating small.)I’m doing a jigsaw online. Lots of little bits, initially utterly meaningless so sorted by edge/not edge then by colour. As it comes together I begin to understand grief May work a bit like this - can figure that, not a clue until gradually, eventually, you see the picture. Strangely comforting. Son has put a finger right on why that puzzle. “It’s a bee.”Health, strength, love, & courage to all as have need, along with the right clothing for the weather, be it floppy hats or engulfing mackintoshes! Me & the lads in our best black tomorrow afternoon for the funeral. He wanted tiny. He's getting it, but Immaculate.11

Oooft at a very long and busy day at work.
Alarm went off at silly o’clock . Pressed snooze but got up before it went off.Quick sniffy doggy walk in the coolness of early morning. Then work for 11 hours. Sat on the back doorstep four hours in and ate a roll and butter…very classy!Son called…flights cancelled…he’s in Europe and he needs to be back! My whole wages gone! Just like that, he does this dancing around the asking for a loan. I’m at work. I’m busy. Just cut out the middleman guff and just say it! Anyway had a better chat when I got in from work. New flights booked and hope he’s back home by Tuesday morning! Some chocolates from my doggy for Fathers Day. Which was very nice of him. And DD2 may

Fingers crossed it arrives before our holiday next month - but i fear OH might be going alone (which i don't mind that much as i was bumming in on his holiday).I wanna be in the room where it happens10 -
