Not sure why I never posted last night? Was in at work for silly o’clock which is ridiculous!Quick doggy walk before work then a better walk when I got in.Then a day at home ( all be it a day of sorting through mum things)
With my doggy at my side.First of all paperwork and the sorting out of. Glad that’s all done.Chat to sister.
Very long chat to friend in Melbourne. Then late afternoon sorting through a box, sending pics of things to various cousins and every now and again a ?? to my aunt for a who’s this? This was all over the dining table so sat last night putting it in appropriate piles as to who can now have it. Dining table reclaimed. We don’t have anything like a heat wave ( fine by me) and had rain and clouds and then dry enough to dry washing and then rain again. Raining at the moment and on for the day according to my weather app!Have a lovely day11 -
For yesterday,
Hot hot here with temps upwards of 30 degrees in afternoon so jobs all done first doors.
Got over to see my pony, she was dozing in the sun close to her next door neighbour, quick check over and carrot treats, flies were buzzing around but not landing on so 👍
Reading my book in the garden, alternating between sun and shade.
Long chat with my bf.
Cheese and herb omelette for tea, followed by ice-cream.10 -
Pleasures yesterday.
Long walk with dog, smiling faces of other dog walkers because of the sunshine and the warmth.
House smelling of French Vanilla from the soy wax tea light I lit in the morning.
Lawn mowed, all of a sudden the garden looks tidy.
Son's first negative Covid test, and he feels more like his old self.
Pizza for lunch, just 15 minutes in the oven, but I made a big mixed salad to go with it. Strawberries, shortbread biscuits, clotted cream ice cream for afters.
A stroll to the village to pick up some new reading materials.
Sat in the sunshine in the garden, drooling, as I read one of said library books, a book of Australian country cooking.
Made no-bake cereal bars, if you ignore the sugar, butter and golden syrup they are seriously healthy and taste lush. One life - your life - live it!11 -
DFV - when DS2 was younger ,about 12, we went to watch a film involving trains and he told DH he couldn't come as he would spoil it by pointing walk the inaccuracies.
1. Seeing everyone at work coming in with their summer clothes on as I say there with a jumper on! But walking g 40 feet to where the Optician worked had to take the jumper off. Made other people smile. Still not sure why some departments don't have aircon.
2. Day was ok working away from main site so more relaxed.
3. Have a house plant some face-to-face put more compost in the pot and cleaned its leaves. Hopefully it will last longer as it survives happily in the bathroom without much light.
4. Some watering of my pots outside. It is very therapeutic I find.
5. Ate my first raspberry from the garden this year10 -
DforV (and anyone else) - my OH (a train buff) will point out all train inaccuracies (they didn't have those engines in America, that's not <<insert station name>> station, LOL this is set in Yorkshire and that line's in Hampshire, that's not 1950s livery and so on...)
Pleasures for yesterday
1. smooth journey to ICT - glorious sunshine and a warm breeze but not 'too hot'
2. did some yoga for the first time in an age and the first chaturanga since the broken wrist)
3. steak, creamed spinach for tea
4. Spoke to my brother on the phone
5. Who do you think you are.
Have a lovely warm sunshiney day todayI wanna be in the room where it happens9 -
Thinking of DFV, Frith and MHags 😘
We got back from our fantastic 2 week holiday on the Greek Island of Lesvos, late yesterday afternoon. We had a wonderful time, not been there for 10 years, but we were recognised in various restaurants and everyone is so lovely. Great food, sunshine, clear beautiful sea, amazing sunsets....
Fairly good journey home and friend picked us up at airport, we had left our car on her drive, 10 minutes away. Only downside was my tooth (crown) just came out on the flight home, there’s just a rough tiny bit of tooth left so don’t think it will be replaceable ☹️ and my scariest thing is the dentist ☹️
Home, unpacked a bit and put first load of washing on, left out overnight as too tired to bring in. Watered the garden which has mostly done well as friend has been popping in to water. Only thing gone wrong is my salad leaves have grown into tall yellow flowers! We had takeaway small chicken souvlaki and salad to keep in the holiday mode.
Cup of tea in bed and put all the holiday towels on to wash. Should dry well in today’s heat! I won’t be going anywhere as it’s too hot, I know I’ve just come back from similar temperatures but it’s different when you are in or next to the sea or sipping cold 🍺! I think I will watch some tennis 🎾 indoors, between unpacking, washing and sorting, poor O H is back to work on the country park.
Enjoy the sunshine ☀️9 -

Yoga. A body of knotts and twists! Here it Blows!
Oh, the subject of histerical inaccuracies! Watched the Falklands play and it was ok up to suddenly the ship was sunk! Focussed on that, not the action that started three days earlier at Wideawake! Mind you it was said at the time 'There goes but one of ours!'- The sun did not shine for months, long before any other event!
Still I wait for the next series of University Challenge!
Had the brunch for dinner last nite four a change! Very tasty and then off to teh discount surplus stores for provisions. The Bootick is currently running at %0% moor expensive!
Watched then river! Jim Gaffigan on his show in Barsellona! Wobbleade and cheeses were taken!
Up to see neighbores cat, she is greater spotted this weak. Then to has me golden flakes of corn inn iced milk. Tee was taken. Saw the Albatross off. The town is full of roadworks as our council cannot get its rr into shape.
Now sat with the washing done, blinds down and already aired house. Just currious as we have all those fans built in the country, why no one will switch them on to create a breaze!
Now getting ready for the cricket! Tee in mug and seal bar! Minted seal bar! Did watch the West Indies vs Bangladesh last day!
Jen gives it max
Stay Cool. Lick the Admiral!I work from home so my cat can be fed on demand!10 -
Hello. A day of much rain until late afternoon when it brightened up again.Up early but dozed off after I’d fed the dog.Went to garden centre with DD2 who was off work today.Dashed in the rain to solicitor…just missing a deluge off a shop canopy!Filled up DD2 car with stuff for charity shop, there was much and there’s still so much more!Returned more medications to pharmacy. We went the other week and they turned us away. Anyway another load out the house.DD2 decided to tidy shoe cupboard ( under stairs) never having tidied the shoe cupboard in her life! So that was stressing me out as there was stuff everywhere and then the dog decided he wanted to be on my knee and hurt me ( obviously unintentionally) and I just wanted to scream at the world…so I just took myself out of the situation.Lay on my bed for an hour in peace and quiet and then went to work for a few hours.Dropped off some shoes at charity bin on the way.And home and tidied up in kitchen and have just come to bed as my alarm is set for silly o’clock! And tomorrow is of course another day!10

Sometimes, Mhags, I find i've just had enough of today. when that happens, i take myself out of it and up to bed. i don't usually go straight to sleep but it helps to know the day is done. The germans have a phrase 'fix und fertig' which means 'done' / or kn@ckered i.e. 'Ich bin fix und fertig' and when i (occasionally) feel that way, I find it best to retreat.
Pleasures for today
1. going back to sleep for an hour after waking at 5.30 due to seagulls. I have a rule not to get up before 6 and it usually works!
2. making the most of the warm sunshine while it lasted and doing a circuit by the sea
3. tidying the garden
4. friend popped in for a coffee and a chat
5. yummy steak and creamed spinach for tea - much nicer than last nights. Accompanied by a lovely rioja.
Sleep tight all.I wanna be in the room where it happens10 -
D4V enjoying your sense of humour.
I’ve been lax posting, but all is well.
1 I don’t tend to sleep that much, but apparently this morning, I woke up and told the alarm how condescending I thought she was with a few swear words thrown in, before passing out cold even thou I had to get up, so DH set his alarm for 5 minutes later to make sure I did. Safe to say, I don’t remember.
2 Popped out to aldeee, we were lucky to pick up 75% off things, pork chops, chicken and bugers, bought home and marinaded, portioned up and frozen down now. we had the chicken tonight and the home made mint marinade worked well.
3 Our oldie ferret puts himself in a sun patch in the afternoon, so later when the shade was in the garden, I just sat with him on my lap in the garden, he was sniffing the air, he hasn’t got long but we are making it as good as possible.
4 Watered the garden definitely a pleasure, there are a few unhappy plants out there.
5 Sorting a few important apps onto my phone, I never thought that would really be a sentence.
