Morning! It’s so wild and windy here. We had a very blowy walk at 5am!I’ve got blooming labyrinthitis! Growls at timing of it but I recognise it’s my body’s way of saying slow down to a stop! Always follows stressy situations and usually about this time wise. So nowt to do but be still and quiet as I’m so dizzy and feeling yukky.Managed as far as the postbox and back but plenty time for sniffing. ( dog not me)
Thursday night I felt it coming on so was not surprised to wake up with the world spinning yesterday. All plans out the window!Painted second chest of drawers that DD2 & I had ‘to me-to you’d’ downstairs , out across mums lawn, into car, out of car, upstairs! And with a very tight squeeze it’s in place.A day of much weather. Sun. Rain . Thunder. Lightning. Sun. Rain. Wind!Couple of things picked up for free that I’ve decluttered from mums. Absolutely random but too good to throw.12 -
Hugs to all those that need them.
1. Had a massage - not quite as painful as previously. Feel so much better when it's finished.
2. Saw a friend briefly. Dropped some eggs and things from the garden for her. Good to catch up.
3. Walked neighbours dog and he stayed with me which was a relief. Lovely walk in the sun.
4. Bed changed . A lovely sleep.
4. Time in the garden and finished cutting the grass.11 -
Epic post as always DFV much love for all you are coping with.
Happy hols DD
For Jimmy’s &?
For yesterday,
A better night sleep wise, hurrah!
Few chores in the house then skipped off to see pony, she was a tad on her toes in the breezy weather but a sweetheart as always, here she is back in her field happily munching once againReading my book whilst listening to TMS in the garden, NZ’s day I feel.
Tea was feta & spinach bake followed by, anyone on a diet look away now, fresh strawberries dipped into Bonne Maman dark chocolate creme pots, oh my.
Few games of Yahtzee then laughed at Gogglebox.11 -

Hello. Bedtime for me. Early start tomorrow.Up and out early with doggy. Still dizzy.
DD2 drove me to supermarket. Feels like ages since I’ve done a proper shop! Met friend so had a good chat. Used remaining voucher so didn’t cost me quite as much.
Work in the afternoon. A chance to be very creative which was lovely.
Watched a film from sofa…dozed, rewound, dozed, rewound! Finally finished it!Been another day of much weather. All sorts!11 -
Pleasures for today (Saturday)
1) A lie in.
2) House quite tidy.
3) Went to a nearby National Garden Scheme open garden. Had to shelter from the rain in the garage with the local lady doing the teas. We got to talking about sons and her son is doing everything bigger son is doing! We had to laugh when we found they both drive exactly the same old car and have both just bought a van!
4) The cat reappeared in the afternoon for a fuss and some food. He is OK but walking gingerly still.
5) Watched the Wales game. A draw against Belgium!10 -
Pleasures for today
Sunshine
Refund for congestion fines x 6.
Roast Chicken dinner.
Homemade sticky toffee pudding made for work colleagues tomorrow
Pup not up to quite as much mischief11 -
For yesterday,
Spoke too soon as a rough night but coffee with a warm croissant helped.
Heading over to the yard and saw my friend driving her piebald cob, smiled and waved.
Took a bucket with brushes & carrots up to the paddock, gave my girlie a groom and then turned bucket upside down to sit on, my lovely mare came and stood in front of me so I scratched her chest while she rested her head on my shoulder.
Lazy afternoon spent either in the garden or snoozing on the sofa.
Made a Thai chicken curry for tea, lots of ginger as we both love it, ate it watching the cricket highlights.
Sat in the garden, watched the beech trees moving in the breeze.10 -
Yesterday not so full of pleasures.
Phone call to say stepmum had died in the night. Expected over the past few days as 91 and in hospital with pneumonia, but it's final now. She and Dad married for 36 years. Pleasure or comfort is her son arrived from abroad just beforehand and is staying with Dad so he's got him and my stepsister there.
I am not fit to go down there, productive cough and lost my voice. Currently negative for Covid but son tested positive yesterday so I am testing daily. Infection Control measures deployed. Son in his room most of the day, we are eating downstairs in separate rooms, no physical contact, FFP3 mask used when within a few feet of each other. I shall be most miffed if I do test positive as I have successfully avoided this modern plague for over two years.
Anyway, this thread is about pleasures. There are always pleasures somewhere.
I unpacked a parcel of scented soy wax tealights, four beautiful fragrances ordered. French Lavender, French vanilla, Jasmine and, the one I tried yesterday and it was amazing, Pomegranate Noir.
Placed a wholefoods order online, included cardamom powder and ashwaganda powder. I shall blend these with camomile to make the ultimate relaxing, sleep-inducing bedtime tea.
Homemade meatball lasagne with salad for evening meal, son ate most of it so appetite not affected. He also had strawberries with yogurt, crackers, grapes and cheese. Vintage cheddar and Leicester from an artisan cheesemonger, lovely. Also a shot of home made elderberry brandy.
Clematis plants rampant up against the Fence, can't wait for them to flower, they will be a riot of pinks and purples.
At least 8 baby plums on the little plum tree. Ssh, don't tell the birds.
Reclining on the bed, hot toddy in hand. Asked Alexa to play "music for meditation" and just drifted.

1. Strawberry Fair and Arbury Carnival in Town of Gown made many diversions yesterday, Lainey. So, the men's clothing, including Helly Hansen and White Stuff jackets, was welcome in the Children's Society CS, en route to.....
2. ....both Gallagher Championship semi-finals at Peacock🦚 🏉HQ. & had no real stake in either match, so could simply watch+🍷....and correct both referees.😁 All of us watching, Club friends and acquaintances, were very summery, very vocal, very happy. The whole afternoon was really easy, spaced out and fun. Final beckons, but & is otherwise engaged next weekend. & just wants team best suited to knocking Farrell out.😤😈
3. Long half-time perimeter walk took in wildflower meadow, then allotments, onto big organic rolling fenny farmland, great views beyond the M11, then back - with 2 golf balls, 20p and a new Revolut bank card, expiry December 2026!😱. Name unknown in Club, but all soon in hand.
4. Late evening by the water - moon, heron night-flying! More intense, punishing, driving, Bumps training - a Women’s 8, cox commanding and Coach on bike along bank+megaphone: 'UP it NOW! GOING 16, GOING 20, 22, 26. SCR-E-E-E---EAM IT! CREAM IT! GO! EMPTY THE TANK!'
Wow! They certainly did.
5. At last, the car-in-sun, 6 week-old emporium seeded🥖🥖🥖🥖🥖🥖 , now offensive strike weapons😁, finally fed to swans, ducks and other avians. Had to use Opinel as hatchet! Sadly, just one duckling and one near adolescent, but & ensured they had their share, despite - as always - greedy, pecky, pushy, snatchy and grabby 🦢🦢🦢🦢🦢, who outnumber all the rest several times over. & had strong words with alpha male wannabe, who again grabbed her shoulder bag, her toes, her fingers in his quest for More and Faster. Wild rocking sounds from Strawberry Fair stages drifted down with the water. A beautiful time and evening, with happy passersby, all affable.

Extra from this morning, because & loves it and our whole Trinity family service was Celtic today:

St Patrick's Breastplate will be an & farewell.
The children's 3-in-1 play was brilliant too, especially when the youngest told the Big Girls. 'Well I CAN be 3-in-1 AND at the same time, because I'm son, brother and friend.'
