End of the first week of our holiday, but still a week to go 😊
We are having a truly wonderful time: lovely weather, floating in my tyre in a blue see, amazing views from our balcony, fabulous food .... I could go on but feel a bit guilty with lots of you having difficult times at home. My thoughts are with you and for better things to come for those who are struggling, poorly or sad 😘

Hello
just chanced hanging a washing out at this time of day! There’s a good breeze! DD1 bedding as she’s away ( very sad faced mamma here)
Up and out with doggy early then round to mums at 6.30am. Emptied a third of her big wardrobe, dropped off at local charity bin and then did a further third later and same again, 12 bags!Went to local castle for one last time with DD1. Somehow had a sore knee that wasn’t there when I walked the dog!Dropped her off at train station, may have sobbed my way home.Met someone in supermarket ‘how’s your mum’ …er…and I was going to say but she asked me before I could tell her. Anyway she was helpful as told me of a local project where I can hopefully give some of mums stuff to ( crockery etc)
Then quick hello and goodbye doggy as I’d a work meeting .
Popped into friend on way back to say hello and then back home to see doggy.
Steak pie and mashed potatoes and beans for tea ( beans in lieu of fresh veg! Thought I’d more than I had!) need to do a shop. And I’ve a freshly made bed to look forward to.11 -
SSue, So glad your home, now to rest.
Paulie, Beautiful photos
Birds eating us out of house and home, and they are happy about it
We went out, over the bridge and it was a bit odd usually we don’t spend much, this time was a little different, we’ve been together an age and always had a mish mash of bowls and plates etc, not a problem, but they are mainly chipped etc, we found a set we actually both really like in ikea, so we bought 2 of them. And then we bought some garden items and a curtain rail, I stayed away from the candles this time. But similar things happened in other shops, bird food was half price, litter pads for animals, back down to what was the normal price so stocked up, and it seemed to happen everywhere we went.
Picked up 2 of the Kindle daily deal books, Dune and The Book of Earthsea, both off my usual but both seem like they should be tried at some point.
Its been manic cleaning, the discovery that we have no self-service laundry area around us at all, somehow fitted the duvet into the washing machine, so many loads to catch up on.
Meal planned for the week, today is the basic grilled chicken, pots and salad.
Went for a little walk up the road to pick up a parcel, a part to replace the broken part in the dishwasher.

Pleasures for today (Thursday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Cat still drowsy, but OK.
3) Popped to Ludlow for a look round and Sainsburys.
4) My friend left a job which wasn't great (she had been there for years) and will start a better one in a few weeks.
5) Had an email from County to say one college has rejected smaller son and they are awaiting replies from the others. If everyone rejects him, it is a good thing (!) as it means mainstream can't cater for him, which we already know, and he might get a space somewhere suitable...
6) Stuck to BSD and made smaller son a pizza and salad for tea then used the rest of the pizza pineapple up in some small pineapple upside down cakes for him.
7) Looking forward to watching Who Do You Think You Are?
Yes, the cat is half the length of my bed!

That looks very much like my Albert, Frith.
Pleasures - news at work today that we can stop wearing masks in most areas, except those classed as high risk. I work in a high risk area so still have to wear a mask, but not when travelling around the building or going in and out. It's a start back to normality.
My order of scented tealights arrived today, I shall open it at the weekend when I'm off.
My lovely son got me a pizza, just had to microwave it.
In bed, listening to Classic FM, camomile tea in hand. One life - your life - live it!9 -

That looks like one comfy cat!
For yesterday,
Into horsey town for a few bits and saw a friend, arrangements made to meet up next week.
Pottered around in the garden, picked a few strawberries and some rocket for lunch salad, so many bees on the Salvias.
Off to Uni city for a haircut, much needed and head felt so light afterwards!
Tea was feta & red pepper quiche with roasted veg.
We watched the first episode of the new series of Outlaws then tv went off and we read our books, the bats were doing circuits of the cottage.9 -
I've not posted for a while so here are some pleasures in no particular order
1. Had a few days away relaxing in France. Good food and wine.
2. Sunny, hot weather and swimming in the sea.
3. DS1 managed to get tickets for the semi final.
4. Time in the garden- the weeds are taking over!
5. Had some broad beans and salad leaves.
6. Strawberries aren't quite ready yet.
7. Spent 3 days at work and worked at different site to manager and line manager on all 3 days - a better week.
8. Arranging to meet DS2 and girlfriend - they were overwhelmed by amounts of plants available and want help in choosing. They want plants that have colour most of the year, are very easy to look after and will grow in pots in semi shade.9 -
