Condolences Nargleblast
Workety work day number one done. Went past as it always does. I much prefer a Monday to my Sunday so it’s always own step nearer! Anyway chatter and laughter which is always good. And decent tips, now in the jam jar.Up early and holy moly at the amount of rain , heavy and then heavier still! However somehow doggy and I got a dry walk.Walked to and from work. Still a tad dizzy but should be okay to drive tomorrow. Was offered a lift home but just needed some fresh air in my lungs after a day in a hot kitchen.Nice chatter with DD2 when I came in. She always kind of steps back when DD1 is here let’s me have time with her. DD1 arrived back in Australia yesterday and then boyo is away his adventures today so I’m hoping he lets me know he got there alright!I would say a lovely welcome home from the doggy but he was about to get his tea so he decided to stay near the kitchen than come see me! However he’s been and snuggled in since.13 -
A bit of a sad day here. More on that later.
Pleasures for today (Sunday)
1) A lie in.
2) A couple of things selling nicely on Ebay.
3) House reasonably clean and tidy.
4) Bigger son came back for a cup of coffee.
5) I went to Sainsburys for ingredients and smaller son made himself a strawberry banoffee pie.
6) Phoned my school friend.
In sad news, the recovering cat came in the house this afternoon and has chunks of fur missing on one side, deep scratches then two terrible puncture wounds. Nothing life threatening (hopefully) but I think he will need antibiotics tomorrow. He is asleep on the sofa, which he would never normally choose to do.
In sadder news, and I can hardly believe it still, my ex father in law died today. He was in his mid 80s. He drowned in a canal close to his house. He had had some awful blows in recent years (bereavements and so on) but no one knows yet if he jumped in or was ill/slipped.11 -

Sorry to hear that, Frith, he deserved a better end than that. Hope you get some answers.
Hopefully the cat just came off worse in a scrap, and once he's got over the assault on his pride, will be back to normal in a day or so.One life - your life - live it!11 -
Frith, I am so sorry to hear that.
Ampersand, interesting to see it, I had heard it was going on, everywhere is over run now. We used to run an animal boarding place, but gradually people gave up on them asking us to take them in, then we had one turn that the owners were leaving to go on holiday, but he obviously needed emergency care it really disheartened us for a long while, but we are thinking about it again now.
For a weekend it involved a lot of cleaning and tidying, my mum would not be impressed.
1 Mowing, cleaning, tidying, it’s all done for a few days.
2 Cooked up a chop with mint veg parcel steaming in the oven, served with cawli cheese, as I have the oven on also cooking up sausages to use all of the heat.
3 My cooking is back on track health wise, so I’ve just signed up to a 7 day virtual exercise thing, as I still don’t fancy being inside exercising with the virus about, but I need to start getting fitter than a very un-fit thing.
4 About to book in some more caravan breaks.

Nargleblast - sorry to hear about your stepfather. Hope you avoid catching covid.
Frith - sorry about your news
For Saturday
1. Train journey went all and very little time to wait for connections.
2. Had been advised to go to a local rugby club for a drink and food before going to Stonex to watch the semi-final. Lovely atmosphere at the club and good and drink both good and cheap.
3. A disappointing result of the match but we didn't play as well as we could. Ampersand - perhaps Farrell should be cited for punching Joe Marchant in front of an official but that is unlikely to happen. Symons probably should be too for punching Farrell but he is now retired.
4. Easy trip home which was good as our for a meal with friends.
5. Lovely, relaxed evening with them.
For Sunday
1. Gorgeous day mainly spent outside.
2. Planted out courgette plants.
3. Met DS2 and girlfriend to buy them plants and went for a roast at a local pub. Food was excellent as usual.
4. Home and then more time spent in the garden. Admiring the roses. DH had been looking after them well this year and they are looking dry good.
5. Glass of wine in the garden. A perfect end to the day.11 -
My condolences to both Nargle and Frith.
For yesterday,
Up early and dead heading in my PJs by 7am.
In fact we spent most of the day out in the garden, reading, pottering and always with the radio on listening to TMS.
The screeching cry of the Swifts as they circle the cottage, hunting on the wing, sparrow squadron coming down to the bird bath en masse and mama blackbird hunting for grubs in the grass, we love our birds.
Steak pie for lunch with new pots and carrots.
Evening walk around the field, small dog sent up a pair of partridges and was very proud of herself.10 -

Heading Missing again! (I blame the softies)
Oh, I logged out and cud not remember mes pass word! Sore ted now!
Bin busy, was inn the wobbleade emporium with the Albatross on FryDay nite. Eggs, ham and chips were taken! All was good!
Saturday was usual snorker and best back. Toms were huge from the good veg box at the discount surplus store, served with tee as well. Then down to watch the cricket with the dainty sarnie stand. I had the spice ham tin and the Albatross has crab paste. Home chipolatas were chopped and stuck on the cocktail sticks as well! Cake was also taken!
Watched another Bond Quantum of Solace on the river stream, very good. Cheeses and wobbelades were taken.
SunDae kept me beech ready looks in the Jim, then another snorker and best back brakefest. Tee again! We gain has the dainty sarnies on the stand. The Albatross has Crab and I had the rest of the spice ham tin! Strawbs and choc ices on sticks were taken!
Then watched another Bond Skyfall on the river stream, again cheeses and wobbleades were taken.
Saw the Albatross off to her work, then did the front yard. Looks good as always. The Albatross will nto be able to beet my land speed record for a while as our council in their self interest of nothing, like social workers, humane remains, educationalists and software types, has put a 30 limit on the by pass. So far no lives have been save due to the diligence!
Now watching the cricket. Root scoops a 6! Tee is taken and the KitKat broken!
Jen sends her
And that has rited the ...I work from home so my cat can be fed on demand!11
