For yesterday,
Rubbish nights sleep and woke up with headache so oh that first cup of tea.
Changed the bed, bye bye brushed cotton sheets until autumn, cooler plain cotton from now on.
Over to the stables, don’t think either of us felt up to much so just some gentle, long-reining around obstacles.
Warm, sunny day.
Snooze after lunch, woke up hot as small dog had jumped up to join me.
Tasty tea, feta & spinach pie with buttered Chinese leaf.11 -
1. A dog walk. Amazing how things change in a week.
2. Went sounds a local garden with a friend. We went mainly for the bluebells and wild garlic which look good together and the rest of the garden was lovely.
3. We say for a while chatting whilst looking over a pond. Very relaxing.
4. More plants planted in the garden and some weeding done as a warm evening.
5. First glass of wine in the garden ,with DH, as so warm.
6. Clean bed sheets.11 -
Morning all
Frith - wot & said
Pleasures for weds and thurs
1. Getting through the marking quicker than feared.
2. walks by the sea
3. nice food chosen by me for just me..
4. good sleeps
5. a chat with the neighbours (the only people i spoke to in two days apart from a 10 minute phone call each evening with OH).
And yesterday
1. Up early and on the train to Chester. Despite many potentials for things to go wrong, nothing did.
2. A cup of coffee from my favourite takeaway outside shrewsbury station
3. a day at the races. I've never been before and thoroughly enjoyed it - gambled modestly expecting to win nothing and so my £6.88 win (on a £2.50 each way bet) was a bonus. Enjoyed the spectacle of it - the frocks and shoes (😮), the roar of the crowd the beautiful horsies. Even the chips for lunch.
4. Went for drinks and a meal after
5. Then i left friends in the restaurant to catch the late train home. No hitches again and got back at 10.
More marking today .🙄 and a dog walk in the sunshine later.I wanna be in the room where it happens12 -

A day of strange happenings!
Pleasures for today (Saturday)
1) A lie in.
2) Lovely, sunny day. The blue tits (and others) are still singing outside.
3) All housework done, including cleaning the windows.
4) Went to the last game of the season. There is a long footpath walk in from town, or the station. Halfway along, I stopped to talk to a little cat. I carried on walking and looked back and groups of what had been cool and swaggering teenage boys were all stopping to stroke it as well.
Queued at the kiosk to get 2 bottles of water and Robert Plant and partner were in front of us! He lives about 3 miles away, has his own record label based at the college and shops in Sainsburys so everyone very carefully ignores him. He goes to the football quite a lot.
The game progressed nicely and we stood in our normal spot, right at the back of the terraces, leaning against the wall. A shot at goal was too high so flew back under the roof where we were standing (this happens a lot). It pinged around off all the roof girders then somehow dropped down between smaller son's back and the wall !
5) In my window cleaning and tidying up outside after the handyman's works, a little bird landed on my head then flew off!
6) About to watch Casualty.
7) Had a letter that smaller son's grant application was successful so his season ticket will be paid for next year.10 -
sorry been madly busy at work and admit to being in the pub watching the footie Mon to Thur in the evenings then yesterday late night trying to get my submission revised, so will catch up on pleasures later but for today...
1) ys trout on a bed of leeks, celery, tomato and kale. absolutely lish and soooo easy. just cooked itself while i carried on working on the submission (I know, Saturday, bah humbug) made 3 portions, 1 eaten for lunch around about championship ko
2) very very exciting day for Luton aand we did it. Cornick's goal must surely be the cheekiest of the season. just looked at the national league admiral and see Grimsby in a similar position to Luton with 2 games to go. i shall watch with interest
2) gbf came round at 2:30 and we walked down to the cathedral for a talk on the Eden project. Dr M arrived as i was getting out extra chairs as turnout was fab, admit to abandoning gbf to sit next to Dr M but gbf just grinned
3) as an apology to gbf took him and mum for a cuppa at Henry's then walked home with gbf (mum caught the bus)
4) asked him he he liked trout - yes - so we had the rest of the trout with bread - I am totally forgiven for earlier bad behaviour
5) then we walked the dogs and I shared some of the Easter chocolate

Good to ‘see’ you DD, yes, the Reading goalie won’t forget that one!
For yesterday,
Slept well then croissants and coffee, good start to the day.
Long soak in the tub whilst reading my book.
Have been after a new bag for summer after my much beloved wicker CK one split last year, nothing doing in any CS but yesterday I found a lovely one in sale plus dug around and got a voucher code as well, all ordered.
Over to see pony, took a bucket with brushes and a carrot up to her field, gave her a groom then upended bucket to sit on and enjoyed the birdsong & the sound of my girlie grazing, perfect peace.
Treat of a takeaway for tea, celebrated with a G&T too!12 -
1. Had to do some food shopping and was home before 9 which was good. Not too expensive considering I had almost ran out of lots of things like ketchup, mustard and oil amongst other stuff.
2. I cut the grass and it looks much better. Managed to get in done before the rain.
3. Spent some time in the greenhouse sowing some seeds and stuff during the rain.
4. Tidied up an area of pots and as I went to lift one up the top came off it. I repotted the plants in it.
5. Went out for a pizza with 50% off and free dough balls a nice evening.12 -
Good morning. Another sunny day.
Yesterday was sunny but much colder than of late.
Met DD and partner for breakfast and planning meeting part one. We're going on a cruise!!
They came to us in the afternoon to do the actual booking. Took a while as the website wasn't working properly so had to ring and do it the old fashioned way! But it's sorted now and we go in September!
Made a fish curry for tea using lots of bits lurking in the fridge and freezer. It was good.
Round to a friend's for drinks and nibbles but DH not very well and so didn't stay long. High temp and fluey feeling. He's still asleep now so maybe ' sleeping himself better'.Think LFT for him when he gets up though.
Happy Sunday everyone11
