Good morning. Lovely day yesterday but back to grey today.
Had our trip to nearby market town. Enjoyed a wander round somewhere different. I bought a beautiful big soft-colours scarf in a sale to put in the present drawer, ready for some lucky person at Christmas!
DH has sorted out the garden watering system so we can now set up the pots and hanging baskets and can go away without worrying about them.
I'm trying to clear my kindle. I seem to have hundreds of books - some I don't ever remember ordering! It's taking a while to delete them but it's oddly satisfying.
Popped into the doctor's to find out why the antihistamines have been taken off my repeat prescription. " It's because you haven't ordered any for a while. " Well, as they're for hay fever and it's been winter, no, I havent. But now it's spring and polleny and I need them. They have been reinstated!
Went out last night. Proper out out. Had a lovely Indian meal, wine and lots of chat with friends. Perfect!
Happy Friday everyone10 -
1. Busy day at work at other site. People treat you as a person who is capable of doing their job. Makes such a big difference to work. I enjoyed the day.
2. Saw DS2 he came round to borrow a suit from DH. Unfortunately the suit is for him to wear at a funeral for a 2 day old baby.
3. My parents had delivered some lovely plants for me.More to plant in the garden.
4. A glass of wine with tea.
5. Quick tidy of the house.11 -
For yesterday,
Candles on the horse chestnut trees, lilac and laburnum in blossom, smashing.
Dropped a bag of Speedibeet off at the stables and walked up to the paddocks to say hello to girlie who was having a day off, got gently frisked for treats, luckily had a parsnip on hand.
Chicken salad for lunch.
Made a loaf.
Strawberry plants put in baskets, planted up sweet peas and runner beans.
Warm in the sun so sat in the garden and read.
Tasty tea, veggie Thai Green curry with cauli rice.12 -
Lainey I was sussing out the candles on the three big chestnut trees in the big park, this is where we go chestnut picking in autumn! Everything’s just so lush and green all of a sudden.

happy anniversary PK & good luck with National Trust (Tesco clubcard works with English Heritage)
What a week, training & packing - we're moving offices & the sheer amount of Stuff let alone paper.
Aye well, its been good otherwise - OS pleasures recentlySpent a few minutes just overloading my senses with cherry blossom. Then took phonesnaps.
Himself had a brief senior moment & forgot the words, uttering “bread powder!” meaning flour.
Oh gosh the family zoom calls. I was tech support for almost 40 minutes solid & that daft Herbert (my esteemed paternal parent) managed to end the call For All by “dragging an icon” (yeah, sure) and so got a very “hoy! get back on zoom” call & he managed, admirably. Phew! Still giggling…
Family tree climbing - I finally begun to decipher what Debretts punctuation means! Only taken me Years, but I’ve had enough other data via the Internet. Which if you think about it, is a bit worrying.
I bought a mixed bag of wool on a car boot & am now contemplating draping lengths on the bushes to help nest building. Himself says it’s too late, but I see twig lugging birds daily.
Himself has tried pak choi & hasn’t died of shock. We may be eating home grown healthy veg yet!
Son eyeing soap pods with dubious intrigue & accusing me of being a “sellout to Big Soap”. How on Earth children try to eat these things I do not understand - they’re Huge, but I can see that vigorous application of water would not immediately help. (Youngest quite big enough to understand these are tools not treats, phew.)
Ah, trainees & computers what could possibly go wrong? Bless them, they’re doing sterling work. One of the trainers however needs a new laptop!
Himself has tried Nido (tinned powdered milk) & is pleased to approve. Excellent, I shall move forward my plan to get another tin. He wants it in sachet format for camping!
Colleague's locker contents in 2 bags for life ready to drive to his home Monday. Now to go scare away the bad memories as another colleague is packing & having divorce flashbacks.
Sunlight! I wore my prescription sunglasses to go vote!
Health strength love & courage to all as have need & may the weekend go, if not to plan, then as well as could be hoped for!

10 oz of Buzzard, Mushroom mix (or any veg or meet!) I use the roast buzzard mix from SunDae dinner; but cook buzzard fully thirst!
Chopped Onion
Sprinkle of sweetcorn.
Use the Tie curry mix from the Discount Surplus Store at £1.59. I understand the boutique sells the same for a lot moor!
Use noodles, the Admiral uses fresh poodles!
Add the curry paste and some coconut milk to the pan, toss inn the onion and buzzard mix. Add a tad of ginger and chilli flakes to taste (Red tie is mild, Green tie is a bit hotter!)
Mix and toss the buzzard mix, adding moor coconut milk as you go! This makes it rite creamy! When reached a nice texture, toss in the chilli and lemon grass mix!
If yous use the fresh poodles lick the Admiral, toss them inn the pan, otherwise cook the poodles and drain before tossing inn the pan.
Whip up inn pan and serve!

1 Dropped or buried walnuts are sprouting in the oddest places. Potting up for fundraisers later. Parent started as a stowaway walnut from &'s SW France life, but no babies until now.
(Pic has disappeared. Dkw. Was here all day. Will replace tmrw.)
2. 10 jars h-g rhubarb and ginger jam finished last night, labelled this morning.
3. Look! Look! Garlic's up, 2 days ago. 💚😁
4. Using costly water wisely, grey water aussi as water butts ran out on Tuesday and it's thirsty fig time until harvest. 5 gallon daily bucketful is the ration, plus any Thermos tea dregs, perc. coffee slops+grounds etc.
5. The gorgeousness of Reach Fair being on again last Monday after 2 years is still with &, as is scent of les muguets, right beside me - and now it's time to head off, then unload in Town of Gown, unassisted, using messy complicated security in and out systems.
Wish me luck.

Lovely day out with OH at our favourite and nearest coast (Walton on the Naze, about an an hour and 15 minutes on a good run). Wish it was nearer as cost of petrol and increased food costs make it not a cheap day out any more. Friend who has moved down there, was just out walking the dogs when we drove round her estate of lovely new houses, to eye up the ones for sale. So nice to say hello again to her.
Then onto the tower for breakfast bacon roll and cappuccino. Lovely walk on the Naze enjoying nature and the sea views. We then drove up to our favourite part of the beach, near our favourite seafront fish n chip cafe, and sat in the cloudy sun for an hour or two. Unfortunately the cafe was closed for some reason so we moved on to Frinton for fish n chips sitting on a bench on the greensward overlooking the sea. Drive into Clacton to look at bungalows another friend is thinking of buying. Traffic around there was awful. Good journey home and a nice cup of tea 😊
We Have vague notions of moving down there as I would love to live near the sea but can’t do anything yet as O H has 7 years to retirement ☹️ and his very frail, elderly mum and dad are nearby to us now.
Nice sunny ☀️ day here today, hope it is where you are 😊12 -
Hello, it’s turned out to be a nice evening after a day of lashing rain.A poorly DD2 being pandered to…was starting to sound like my mother there…and just one more thing! So she’s currently got honey in hot water. A mug of soup and a leftover from work scone! And if I could just refill her bottle of water please!Had to hang washing up inside today! The horror…though did put put one clothes horse outside when I came home but the rest was upstairs. Was in at work for the afternoon. Not my usual so felt a bit out of sorts to start as I walked into crazy busy without my way of prep. Anyway got there. Had a laugh and a chatter and paltry tips! But better off than I was when I went in.Popped into supermarket at DD2 bequest ( and when the till said would you like the receipt I said yes and have since been reimbursed!) got RTC mushrooms that I’ll possibly make soup with.
Had a leftover from work baked potato with tuna and salad for my tea.
Doggy was seeking the sun as it came through the velux windows and was splayed across the rug!12 -
Ah, just upstairs while GCSE past papers and books are being thrown around the kitchen. I don't think smaller son has actually thrown them in the bin, though there was a clang. I should think 30 minutes of revision has been done. And by that I mean in total, over the last 3 weeks... I mention it quietly, 2-3 times a day, occasionally bribe and literally nothing happens.
Pleasures for today (Friday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Man reappeared and the front of the house was sanded down and repainted and is now even bluer than before!
3) Went to the butchers to get smaller son some hot turkey rolls and spoke to the butcher, his wife, the man from the garage (also in the butchers) then went to the shop and spoke to 3 people in there who commented on the new paint as they can see it through the window!
4) Had a tidy up.
5) Went to Ludlow and looked round the charity shops but bought nothing. Redeemed (?) my loyalty card for a free cup of tea in the cafe.
6) Tasty tea.
