All packed and ready for heading home ( once it’s daylight!) didn’t have a great nights sleep was too hot ( own silly fault for not turning heating down ) and then had an odd dream ( nice but odd) then doggy needed out so I just decided up and at ‘em! So all swept up, bags ready to go in car and we will head home. Not in a mad rush to be caught up in traffic as lots of people commute so I’ll wait till about 9 then head off…gives me time to walk doggy and watch a few more ferry boats!Yesterday was a beautiful day. Blue sky and sunshine …oh and a freezing cold wind! But it is January and I’ve been fortunate with the weather. The house next door has a flurry of snowdrops in their garden. Very pretty and delicate.I slept so long ( then took doggy out went back to bed and slept again!) had another bath in the morning then walked doggy.Popped out for a takeaway sandwich for lunch from cafe along road and saw the most stunning rainbow over the sea. Nice tuna sandwich but a tad dry scone! Then we hopped in the car and drove to the beach. Tide was out. Was a tad bracing but nice to be out in the fresh air.
Home. Finished book. Sigh…tad disappointing ending. I sometimes wonder how some books get published! Will leave it here for someone else to be disappointed 😆Another walk with doggy. Then I’d chicken soup for tea.Another bath! I’m squeaky clean! Then bed! So I may not have slept brilliantly last night but I’ve certainly caught up on lost hours! The bed is so comfy. A very thick ( though not heavy) quilt and obviously quality sheets!I’ve enjoyed ( needed ) my time away. I get a bit bogged down mentally at this time of year ( counting down) and it’s been good for the soul to just sit and watch the sea. Two geese flew by yesterday, low over the water just in front of me. It literally is cottage, road, sea. Noting the passing of time by ferry boat out ( 5 past the hour) and ferry boat in ( half past) , sometimes seeing both ferries at same time. As they pass by in the distance. The cottage is perfectly proportioned and fully equipped with every little thing already thought of. The owners are friendly without being intrusive( they just live next door).13 -
Sounds wonderful Mhags and just the ticket, safe journey home.
For yesterday,
Popped into horsey town for a few bits and saw a friend so quick catch up over a coffee.
Parcel received in post and so pleased with my auction purchase.
LO macaroni cheese for lunch.
Visit to elderly pal, she regaled me with stories of her working life, she’s 92 and bright as a button.
Finally catching up on the Monty Don Adriatic programme and enjoyed the gardens of Venice.12 -
wonderful photos ampers and wonderful break mhags, let me know if you're ever Dundee way
For yesterday
1) a very good chat with the Dean - did I ever tell you I love my job? 😍
2) a beautiful day - sheets danced in the sun all day
3) last meeting finished at 3:20 so at 3:30 I nipped out with the dogs. We went up Balgay - trees still down - weaving my way through the first coming down no sign of Bilbo. Spent 10 minutes shouting for him, even phoned DD2 (who was on another call so didn't pick up). Gave up, started walking home, to have Bilbo charging after me as if to say 'oh right we're off home now are we? wait for me' at which point DD2 phoned so all good.
4) online drinks with the boss - again I drank ginless wonders - I save my units for Dr M and the pub!
5) gbf round for supper, butchers steak sausages - I told him if he wanted pudding he could bring it (then I don't need to worry if he's on a diet or not and if so what type) - M&S bread and butter pudding with custard - we polished off the lot, though he did mention Lent so guessing we'll be doing healthier eating then. We retired to the sitting room with our mugs of Scottish blend tea, and had a lovely chat about his photography, my work, church, smoke alarms, tv and of course Dr M - before we knew whether Dr M was straight or gay we both fancied him - gbf and I have a lot in common including our discerning taste in men 😎 and for those waiting for the next instalment, not due to see Dr M again till Wednesday 😝 - he has his mother's 90th birthday this weekend
