Another day in my seaside cottage. Quiet day as I’ve had a headache all day and I’m having an early night.
tis wild out there! Just been out with doggy and horizontal rain /sea spray. But I love telling the time by the ferries.
chat with DD1.
chat with sister.
read half a book.Had a bath.Had lasagne, cheesy mash, broccoli and corn on cob for an early dinner.Nice chat with owner. They are just the loveliest of people.15 -
- glad you’re having a good holiday Mhags ,hope the head ache goes
- Weather better this afternoon first sun for days
- Staring knitting squares ,my WI have had a request from a local home for knee blankets ,we had the idea of Red ,white and blue for the jubilee .think we’ll be fed up by the time we finish
- Started sorting paperwork out ,realised no need to keep some and ashamed how out of order the filing cabinet is ,so it will take awhile but doing it
- Lost another couple of lbs ,got to be good ,hip not getting any easier .

I started writing and then the computer updated so here again
1 I tidied my various piles of things by this I mean, I had one pile of books to sort in the living room that’s all squirreled away, I pile of “to be actioned” paperwork in the kitchen, dealt with and appointments made, then there was the airing pile which just accumulates it was towels, bedding and clothing all folded and away now. It’s the journey to things being put away in this house!
2 Washing loads cycling around.
3 Food always a pleasure well mainly, today is chicken soup for lunch and a pasta bake for dinner.
4 The birds are thankfully enjoying their pancake/peanut mix as there’s another 2kg to get through.
5 A big box of “ferret fun stuff” arrived today, all unwanted bits and bobs that will create tubes for them.

Pleasures for today (Wednesday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Hens OK and I had a word with the allotment owner while I was there.
3) Did an online training course about boards and management.
4) Smaller son not only came to Sainsburys but sat in the cafe with me. He hasn't done that for about 3 years.
5) Smaller son had a good day at college but 2 people in the same room (today or yesterday, not sure) have coronavirus now...
6) Watched the programme about Jay Blades learning to read, which was very interesting.12 -
Aww, they will have great fun with those PK.
For yesterday,
The early morning cloud disappeared and we had sunshine, as Sue says, first time for days.
Busy morning in the house with chores, as always the pleasure is when it’s done.
Fun in the sun with horse, with the warmth came early spring madness and we were jumping all over the place, calmed down in the end but then accidentally smacked me on the nose, saw stars for a moment!
Mini midweek roast, stuffed chicken thighs with root veg.
We also watched the Jay Blades programme, very interesting indeed and reminds you not to take such skills for granted.12 -
A few days since I've posted.
1. Starting to feel better - have had a virus. Not Covid though.
2. Kind messages from friends and some colleagues.
3. DH doing some shopping for stuff we needed.
4. Reading a book or two.
5. Enjoying some herbal teas13 -
"D Doll - can't decide if Dr M is a 'Treat 'em mean, keep 'em keen' type or just dilatory about time keeping!" think probably the latter happycas oh but i am still keen
lovely adventure playground for the ferrets PK
For yesterday, a stinker of a day of work - 9 Teams meetings back to back so will need to think for OS pleasures
1) stripped and remade my bed - found a new sheet in the cupboard so that is now on my bed
2) los for lunch heated up and eaten while at webinar on learning analytics - has given me some ideas
3) fridge fodder supper - end of the celery, end of the creme fraiche, pasta, red pepper, peas and tikka - yum and of course made enough for lo lunch next day
4) managed count of 19 on left leg with eyes shut (have been practising) (then 3 on right 🤣)
5) then pub - Mr E & TG already there, watched second half of Celtic game, Mr G arrived after Dundee Utd match a very happy man (they won 2-1 after going down a goal) then Dr M who as always came late sat next to me and we chatted and we might be getting physically closer each time - well I am and he hasn't flinched yet 😎
Then I sent him thehttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3GRSbr0EYYU cos it always makes me laugh. (PS i am a responsible dog owner and NO dog of mine would ever do this)

Now the pics intended for yesterday's osps. Up on The Gallops is &, so they should load.
....and done, in 2 seconds! Unbelievable, when & spends 30 anxious minutes - and more! - trying and retrying to send a tweaked article from squatland.

1. Well, mid-week Communion - curtailing r5lx 🏏, then 🎾listening - then up here for a rest of Preview subbing/writing/editing etc day seems like a good working pattern, with layers, separate radio as always, Thermos+munch..... Today, 2 oeufs à la coque, seedy bread, NZ Edmonds Book Kiwi biccies - and good girl apple(at least 1 daily for &).😋😁
2. Treated self to this £5 replacement, years overdue. &'s 1st time in a dun of elm:
https://www.dunelm.com/product/birds-doormat-1000189689?defaultSkuId=30744138
3. Near dark up here now, but all online Preview blah mostly done. 2 more, poss. 3, coming in early tmrw. Will manage them somehow. Raffle Harridan mode again too, this Saturday.
4 Checked on oldest Nthn hemisphere Uni friend, isolation day 6. 2 days of negative tests now, so fingers x'd. Little unexpected grandson, born September, still positive and not doing so well. Received late b'day pressie, with a special extra - a new bottle of daughter's quinta's phantabuloso olive oil. I am so, SO thrilled!!!! She knew I'd finished the other and daughter is over for a medical appointment. Lovely, lovely, lovely huile d'olive!💚
&'s 4x9p jars of A1di mincemeat handover was not quite of the same order.....😄
5. A letter confirming that &'s account of complete innocence re: something that never did happen over 2 years ago has at last been accepted, with 2 official letters of proof. Absolute vindication - threats withdrawn, with apologies.

Now this dark outside - now &, don't get carried away!😁
Down to emporium in a bit - apples, salad, greens.
Oh, & has used Martin's WINTERMSE code on the Everything£5 site, in this week's newsletter.
Pair of burgundy boots - a🦚🏉Club colour. On verra. Another 'Have never done such a thing before!' thing for &. What's going on in little old & lady brain?😁

Very sad about Barry Cryer. We went to see him on stage (with Colin Sell) a few years ago.
Pleasures for today (Thursday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Did another zoom training course! This one was quite fast paced.
3) Hens OK.
4) Managed to get tickets for the next FA cup match! There is absolute uproar locally as they have sectioned off a huge quantity for West Ham then 300 tickets for "hospitality", thus leaving fans hanging around refreshing a broken website all afternoon then not being able to buy any. It was not handled well at all.
5) Smaller son agreed to go the steam railway station with me, again something he has not agreed to in years. A solitary engine went through while we were there.
6) Blood sugar diet continues.
7) Did the virtual pub quiz.12
