1. Another day at work over. Pleasure is one less day that I will have to do.
2. Messaging a friend. Gave some advice - not sure how useful about choosing schools.
3. Rearranged a short break to France by a couple of days - fits better with DH work and rugby and seeing friends at a cost of £2.
4. Finished a difficult section of my jigsaw.
5. DH enjoyed his day of freedom.12 -
Good morning
Frosty but a beautiful sunrise. Twas a beautiful sunset too so shepherds won't know what to expect.
Trip to the optician yesterday so took two old pairs of specs for their charity collection. Also took a bag of toys and a bag of clothes to Barnados next door and a bag of unopened, unwanted toiletries to the food bank. All things we've been meaning to do for ages so that's sorted.
Actually managed to do some proper housework. It's been a lick and a promise since DH came out of hospital.
Been ringing surgeon's secretary daily to find out what's happening next but it goes to voicemail and so far she hasn't got back to me. I know they're busy and we're not trying to jump a queue, but would feel happier to be sure he hasn't slipped through the net.
Happy 🌞 day everyone

For yesterday,
Hard frost to start, stunning sunrise as well.
Stripped the rest of the chicken and made soup, small dog got a bit of skin then licked all the jelly off the plate.
Over to the yard as equine pal had her annual injections, both flu and tetanus this year. Vet was quite late, goodness knows how many hours I’ve spent waiting on vets over the years, so gave her legs a tidy up. We also shared an apple although in reality that meant me taking a bite and her having the rest!
Took some books down to the exchange in the village.
Was meant to be having prawn noodles for tea but a large slab of Christmas cake late in the afternoon put pay to that so just had cheese & grapes.

Recent pleasures:
Visited my sister on Tuesday and she made soup in her soup maker, easy but you still have to chop everything up, so at around £50 I think I’ll stick with my saucepans and stick blender (MSE) 😊
We had fruit salad and fat free Greek yogurt after, so very healthy!
Her daughter popped in for her lunch break and chatted happily about her wedding plans for August and about her lovely day making their own wedding rings.
Lovely sunny but cold morning yesterday but as my friend had to wait in for a workman (cancelled from Monday) I went round to hers for a chat and light lunch. During lunch she had a call to say workman couldn’t come now until Friday. I know it’s very annoying but she went ballistic and went on about 3 days of her life wasted (she’s long retired) and was quite rude! I am finding her more and more difficult, it brings me down, and finally persuaded her that as sun was out we could still go for our walk!
The walk in our local park was lovely and did do us both some good !
I put a beef casserole with loads of veg in the slow cooker before I went out, so it was good to come home to the lovely aroma of that and it was delicious with mustard mash and more mixed veg and plenty left for another meal 😊
Have a good Thursday everyone 😘10 -

VJsmum, I know what you mean about abroad. We live 40 minutes from the Chunnel and used to pop over to France quite a bit, actually easier for us than many UK journeys. I guess we were spoiled!
Pleasures today:
A walk in the sun through our two local parks to the next village.
Bought a dozen eggs at the eggstand there, all different colours - brown, beige, white and pale blue.
Nice chat with a lady who was also walking.
Took on three short projects and may take on a fourth as I feel like being busy (it would also help replenish my emergency fund.)
Nice store cupboard lunch of linguine and pesto with parmesan cheese.Carolbee9 -
Glad i'm not alone - it's small fry in the scheme of things, I feel like Violet Beauregard ("Daddy, i WANT to go abroad").
Anyhoo, pleasures for yesterday
1. Washing hanging on the line
2. Cleaned the kitchen - pleasure is the clean kitchen, not the doing of.
3. A nice walk with friend and small doggy
4. Food in the fridge - good ole sausages and broccoli cheese for tea
5. No alcohol - i'm attempting a 'dry for the remainder of' January. I usually refuse to do it as January is miserable enough but, having been rather going for it of late, I need some respite. It may yet morph into a 'not drinking at home' January instead, but we'll see.
DD - sorry about the ex, I'm sure it gave a pang. Hope you're ok.I wanna be in the room where it happens11 -

Nipped out with the Albatross last night for supper inn the Fiery Water Pump room! Nice stake was taken and waters tasted! Very good!
Had me usual brakefest again of Honey Monster and ice-cold milk! Tea was drunk, then scrapped the ice of the Car so the Albatross could make a run for it.
Watching the bash then the SA cricket, with my mug of tea and bits. SA cricket is going to be close and then tomorrow #WOODS TO OPEN? Oh ...
Right I has bits too do now and things! Oh Kitty, I gets her balls out yesterday on the rounds and to has already been sent under the sidebored! I fed her and her food is everywhere around her dish! Blooming thing!

A very belated Happy Birthday Ampersand x
For yesterday
1 I had 2 interviews early morning and virtual, one where I had to give a presentation etc, ironically the more they talked the more I got put off. And the other one is new to me I applied yesterday, and they spoke to me this afternoon, which would be nice.
2 I had a surprise yesterday I changed the bedding and then opened the office to find the last lot of dirty bedding I put in there, so it wasn’t in the way. Ops, so old washing up to date but new washing in the que.
3 As we were done early and it was bright sunshine we made the most of the day, bundled up some animals and a flask of soup and headed out to Dungeness we went for a long walk around the bracken and the ferrets had a ball taking in all the smells. We then made our way to the sea for an amble around and back to the car for a soup, while being watched by a kestrel that I swear was trying to barter for a ferret, so we told it to jog on. We then followed the coast road around and ended up over in Folkstone to watch the sunset.
4 Picked up a pizza, snaffled half while watching the harbour, and bought half home
For Today
1 Spent some time in the garden tidying, pruning, cleaning up the patio, and then re stocked the feeders.
2 Tesco delivery today, but very much only half arrived in chatting with the driver they literally have empty selves of the vitals, I was missing milk, fruit, bread, soups, mayo etc so I’m wondering what’s going on but can't see anything on the boards here.
3 Got on and hoovered and tidied upstairs and various loads of washing underway.
4 Food planning from freezer I turned some leftover turkey into the traditional curry and cooled the curry off from very hot with tomatoes and veg, I made it hours ago to simmer away together with rice also loaded with veg and stock so should be tastey.
5 More job hunting and applications is what tonight holds in store.
