Pleasures for today (Thursday)
1) Hens OK.
2) Got some housework done and just got a load of washing to sort this evening.
3) Made a trifle (for tomorrow). Had a toastie for dinner thus using up the last of the Christmas cheese.
4) Went to canal town and looked round the charity shops (nothing today). Also went to Lidl then to Tesco as smaller son wanted something specific. They had the fruit trees in stock again so I phoned my brother and ended up wrestling 5 plum trees and a pear tree through the checkout and into my little car! I texted my sister to let her know and she has a crab apple tree waiting for me for the allotment.
5) Went to my parents' to drop the trees off and had a cup of tea and a piece of Christmas cake. It was all drama there as one of the radiator valves had leaked onto an extension cable in the middle of the night.
6) Had a Jack Monroe recipe lasagne from the freezer (the base from the freezer, I just added the lasagne sheets and sauce).
7) Just did the Virtual Pub Quiz.
8) Waiting for the tickets to come available for the next FA cup match. Too exciting!10 -
Thanks vjsmum totally accidentally came across some wedding photos lol but am fine
ok very busy day at work, often frustrating so will need to think..
1) chestnut and turkey stock soup out of the freezer for lunch yum
2) the giggles and sending secret message so to colleague at a particularly awful meeting
3) listening to Purcell - very calming
4) went to the pub, dr m said he’d be late, did wonder if he’d bale but he arrived albeit 1 hour late - was a rather disappointing match so he didn’t miss Much - then we had a long chat which was nice
5) then we walked home together - he said he’d definitely see me next Wednesday unless I was there tomorrow - I am indeed thinking of calling in tomorrow to catch up with another friend - we’ll see - oh and he likes port

1. The sunrise was gorgeous set against frosty landscape.
2. Chat with neighbour as we were de icing cars and why we both seemed to have as much ice inside the car as outside.
3. Work at different site and it was enjoyable. Such a novel experience. Did spend some time watching squirrels in the woods. There is a huge window at the end of the corridor overlooking woods and we are 3 floors up I think. The building is on a hill so I work on the ground floor.
4. Finished my jigsaw.
5. Mussels for tea. Very easy to prepare and delicious.12 -
Likewise on the footie tickets Frith not certain yet if we will be playing on the Saturday or Sunday.
For yesterday,
Bright, sunny weather, really lifts the spirits on a January day.
The reemergence of a much missed poster on the OS forum ☺️A big bowl of veggie soup with HM bread for lunch.
Spent the afternoon with elderly friend, hadn’t seen her since before Christmas so a good catch up was enjoyed, her eyesight is very poor so I took a bunch of bright, yellow roses which she could see where they sat on her hearth.
Few games of Yahtzee with Capt S who easily won with 5 of the maximum points thrown, 2 in the same game.13 -
Morning all, pleasures for yesterday
1. A workety work day was worked. Same old same old - they need a rocket up em.
2. Cleaned the bathrooms
3. My 'activity session' for work (seminar) was a final Q and A for their assignment. No-one turned up LOL even though assignment due next week. i somehow don't think it's cos they've all finished and are happy 😕 anyway, i had the opportunity of doing LOADS of duolingo exercises (German) and am now happily back in the middle of the Diamond league.
4. Washing hung on the line.
5. left over christmas dinner for tea as i was eating alone. ready plated, just needed pinging. Was yummy.
have a great day all.
I wanna be in the room where it happens12 -
Mustard Mash, with chives and cheese?
If anyone is in Paris, I left my jacket there in 1984! The hotel bill also needs paying!
Snorkers and Broccoli.
Interviews!
The Chicks are alright!
Jig Saws!
Kitchen and Bathrooms clean!
And Soups!Anchors!
Watched the gooooners last eve, and can say needed that Micky Thomas moment! Fiery fizzy waters were taken with cheeses! Oh they bite me nails watching 'em!
Kitty was a bit chatty for her treats last night as well, but question is, when I move, she is not bovvered, but when the Albatross moves, she thinks she can saucer eye and get moor feed!
Had me honey monster inn ice cold milk this morning again, with tea, then acted as official timekeeper for the Albatross, but a delay inn putting on her shoes and leaving the break on, meant again she was running slow. Even the cut to get in front off the slow coach did not make up the lost time! Still my record holds!
Then off to the Discount Surplus Store to get provisions and wobbleades inn! No queue at the time when I dock there! Saved again by not going to the Boutique excess shop!, £29.21 against £40.84! That is another tenor for the pocket to sing about!
No report tomorrow as niece is being led up the aisle!
Jen sends her best!
Keep WavesI work from home so my cat can be fed on demand!12 -
Good afternoon
PK - good luck with the interviews. A new job for a new year would be excellent.
D Doll. - awaiting further episodes in the ongoing tales of Dr M. I've never read any Barbara Cartland, and now I don't need to!
Jewellery man came yesterday from insurers. Trays and trays of rings to choose from. Most of my stolen jewellery was inherited and therefore very old fashioned styling ( but beautiful). In the end I decided to go for something completely different, which made life easier. Quite exciting.
Today I made two lots of soup, an apple crumble and some scones ( GF for DD). Think I need a lie down now!
Happy Friday everyone13 -
Hello
nearly bedtime, just waiting on fire dying down. Alarm clock is set for silly o’clock.Been a dull and drizzly day here. All hoovered.Popped up to visit a friend this afternoon. Pleasures for today (Friday)
1) A lie in! (Smaller son doesn't go to college on Fridays).
2) Half heartedly got jobs done round the house.
3) Hens OK.
4) Made beans on toast for lunch which we hadn't had for ages. Enjoyed that.
5) Bigger son has come back for the night and is now in bed eating a packet of crisps.
6) In bed myself with 1 hwb and will listen to podcasts just now.12 -

1) after first meeting trotted down to friend (in isolation) as she had some urgent mail - called in at the library en route as they had a Marion Todd on hold - have now also reserved #5
2) lovely distanced chat with friend (though highly likely we both had omicron so probs safe)
3) back home, tea for dd2 and chocolate from library
4) after work Phoenix - first time for ages - got held up with an urgent ethics query so by the time i was in the bus I was getting texts ‘where art thou’ with pictures of my pint - lovely chat then
5) Mennies - dr m sent apologies - he’d had a late zoom and was relaxing with some tv - I had a giggle with a couple of friends then caught the 10:52 with one of them and now in bed with a contented grin on my face and news quiz on the iPad - i have though located the ideal valentines card for dr m!
