Pleasures over the weekend-
Stepson and family (wife and two boys) came to stay.
A six month old black Sprocker spaniel puppy came with them, she is gorgeous.
Seeing the puppy and my dog play together all weekend. Cats weren't too impressed though.
A walk in the park Saturday morning with frost on the ground and brilliant winter sunshine. The two dogs charging around together.
Spoiling my guests with homecooked food, including a chicken biryani done in the slowcooker.
Glasses of wine and diving into the tin of Quality Street. I knew if I saved it until their visit that would mean I would not have to eat half the tin. I was very restrained.
Laughing at comedy programme on telly (Friday Night Dinner, the fox in the freezer one).
My stepson's wife rescuing a bird in the park this morning, it literally fell out of a tree in front of her. It had lost some of its feathers so couldn't fly properly.
Phone call this evening saying they had arrived home safely and the rescued bird was hopping around in the dog cage, having had some food and drink. They will keep it with their chickens, until its feathers grow back.
Practising for return to choir tomorrow.

1. Very long and varied rugby activity yesterday, with early &start, 3 home matches and many attendees. Our 1st XV held on for 14-8. More shoddy refereeing from the known👎 - 😤 . It's why we must win that climb back promotion - better referees.
2. Incredible Raffle Harridan results. 1½ books of tickets sold! 'They can run, but they can't hide!'😁 Such good nature from all, visitors included, is wonderful.😇
3. Thick foggy start gave way to sunshine!
4. Enjoying a new2me book, ex Scotsdales charity bookshelf. Something of an oddity(as was rather interesting author also?) - James Anderson's, 'The Affair of the Blood-Stained Egg Cosy.'
5. Deliberately allowing self a rest-y-ish today.🙂
