Poor Tiggy Bala
1) went for a lunch-time run with colleague - we went to Camperdown and did the Park Run route
2) quite a few trees down and path very muddy but my trail shoes held out well
3) garlic mushrooms and salad for lunch - yummy
4) sadly Leicester match postponed so Dr M didn't come to the pub - probably for the best as he's not yet had his booster - so instead watched the Liverpool match with a friend
5) joined by his wife and daughter at the end, having been to the same show I went to on Tuesday and enjoyed it just as much, then long chat with DD2 who is back on her dad's houseboat
and for today
1) slept extraordinarily well, no meetings and woke to (ahem) Desert Island Discs
2) got my PFHEA application in hooray. Bloomin' shed load of work, cost £550 just to apply so not at all mse, but very very relieved I have finally got it in - fingers crossed, I get one resub chance and if not successful nothing in return
3) to celebrate mum and I went to the Botanics - again lots of storm damage but the glass houses were spared - education centre has been renamed Paterson Centre after my lovely friend who sadly died October
4) my BIL had a good checkup at the hospital - they are very happy with his progress, he should soon be allowed to drive, oncology appointment Monday to discuss highly recommended preventative chemo
4) another very long chat with DD2 who is finding life on the houseboat rather lonely but she is back Monday hooray
5) fridge fodder supper - seem to have quite a bit of cheese, fortunately love macaroni cheese with lots of veg in - and now HIGNFYMrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

Bala, hope poor Tiggy is recovered from the vets.
1 – 5 Back in July we pre booked to take the in-laws on the steam lights train over in Sussex, we drove over to the in laws from home and popped to a café local to them to pick up fish and chips for lunch and enjoyed them before setting off, we travelled the back roads in the daylight so we could chat and take in the scenery. We got there as it opened, had a look around the souvenir shop and our wallets stayed firmly shut. We enjoyed all of it really, it was great fun we took our own drinks and snacks, we also had a compartment to ourselves in relative covid measures, they lowered the lights and set it all to music and slowed for fairy scenes set up at various points. We didn’t want it to be over when it was. A very lovely trip.
For today
1 Up early and got the b12 jab at the docs, it was very delayed, and they were literally running around dealing with covid issues.
2 Home and soup for lunch and l/o pork turned into risotto. Snack was a rather large camembert cooked with herb bread that we saw in aldee and had to try delicious but vast amounts of it.
3 A bit – a lot of cleaning, all the animal bedding areas needed doing.
4 So sleepy I suspect there will be a nap at some point – soon.
5 Re stocked all of the bird feeders.

Pleasures for today (Friday)
1) Not a bad sleep. No college, so a lie in.
2) No after effects at all from the flu jab yesterday.
3) Hens very perky and 2 eggs today.
4) Bumped into my neighbour in the shop, who I hadn't seen since his big aneurysm operation. I realised afterwards that we have probably been picked up on the CCTV, with me getting a guided tour of his scar! He is very well indeed.
5) Smaller son and I popped to Sainsburys.
6) Finally got round to posting the first of the Christmas cards, plus the one for the US.
7) Been watching television all evening.
One for yesterday is that my mum got to see the "eye man" after several months wait. She thought it was to find out what would happen next (her cataract operations both went wrong so left more clouding than before). He said he would do one immediately (!) so that is one eye that will be much better in a few days. Not sure if she will be able to drive again after that. The second will be lasered in January. Then just corneal transplants to go!11 -
My wonderful Tiggy is ok, recovered. Vet and I decided best course of action is to continue with course of injections. At the end of that we have to evaluate whether it is worth taking risk of x-rays under general aneasthetic. I have had her 11 years so she is at least 12 years old, more likely 13. There is only one vet on this planet that I will allow to do that. Only one vet that returned her to me the same way she went in, after the aneasthesia. Pure skill and magic.
Thought I had lost my phone yesterday. I hadn't been under contract for years and years. But having to take so many important calls for my Dad I decided to take advantage of a great offer and get myself a decent phone. I have lost it once already, which is not like me. Yesterday I was panicking for about 2 hours. It was 2 feet from me wrapped in a piece of folded paper for protection. All I could see was the paper.
Today I will be signing up for insurance. The thought of having to pay for a phone that I don't have (for the next 21 months) made me want to cry. Again !
Also, remember to charge phone so that when you are calling it (to find out where it is) it will ring !
have a great day

LaineyT a rollercoaster to get nosebleeds with lateral flow testing and was advised that testing with one nostril a time would be sufficient for her.
1. Enjoyed my dog walk and spoke with a couple of people.
2. Met a friend for coffee. Caught up with all the news. Her husband is suffering from long covid.
3. The house - downstairs at least is ready for Christmas which is good.
4. Spoke with my parents as it was my Dad's birthday.
5. I was sent a couple of photos of DS2 with my sister's dog. They are looking after her for a few days.12 -
Good to hear that Tiggy is recovering and happy at home with her Mum.
Thank you VL, will try alternating nostrils.
For yesterday,
Woke up to thick fog, no lights from bypass and muffled sound.
Out early with a trip into horsey town for supplies plus a dog medication pick up, town was v quiet for a week before Christmas.
Careful drive out to fenland market town, lunch with DSIL and pressie swap. We wrapped up warm and took her terrier for a long walk down by the river, admiring the cute cottages with their festive lights.
Once both DN’s had finished work we then went for a coffee, actually we all had a hot chocolate with whipped cream. Lovely to see my family.
Home and the best welcome from small dog, where have you been all day? I’ve had to put up with just Dad pandering to my every need!

Hot Mince Pie with Cornish Ice Cream. Heaven.
Nice cobbled together dinner. Very MSE
Lovely chat with neighbour across the road. Felt connected again. Don't know why.
Met a young woman today that has been diagnosed with a rare brain disease. My heart breaks for her so this is not a pleasure. Will send her a card. Hope she has all the support she needs. Once again I always hope the doctors are wrong. My troubles/feelings just seem so insignificant in the face of her prognosis. Gutted.
Tiggy. Always Tiggy
