Your poor cousin VL.
For yesterday,
A welcome lie-in, somehow it always feels better in clean sheets.
Had a quick womble around the dig site, it seems to have been mostly major excavations this week but there a lot of small flags dotted about with numbers on.
Bit of work done in the garden, mainly clearing and cleaning of pots plus washed & refilled the bird feeders.
Tried to listen to the footie but it was too depressing so we gave up and took small dog for a walk around the fields.
Treat of a takeaway for tea, watched Strictly and then the next two episodes Dalgleish which I’m really enjoying.

Oh bother, Frith! One is too many. I don't know how many times I has shared numbers on the Vets group!
LT Read that as smoking things beginning in F though I do not say as the censor would blow me post! You are correct about the football. See below!
New house. Boxed in yet? We moved once and did not fully unpack as we moved again!
Dodgy Duty. I am reading posts wrong! Please do not mention the footie DD!
Frith! It is an old geyser! (Let's see if that gets pass the censor!)
Today in the Galley
Today we are having Nasties (Sue, Pasties!) with tatties and swede and carrot mash and pan gravy. Then some chocolate sponge and instant lumpy skin on custard!
Had dippy eggs with hot buttered marmite toasted soldiers for breakfast and some tea as well!
Last night as we have run out of films and do not do celeb love ins, had a Scrabble night. Cannot do them live as the iPad has no MSE details! The Albatross (SS the good lady who looks after me!) had the opportunity to go two wins on the bounce by winning the first game, but the Admiral pulled it back to level on the night! The Albatross remains only one win away from the chance of two on the bounce! Fiery fizzy waters (Sue Beer!) were taken, and cheeses consumed!
Now off to watch the cricket!
Jen (Sue my ICD) sends a buzz!
Keep Safe, including Sue!
Remember them!
I work from home so my cat can be fed on demand!11 -
Thanks for the translations Admiral !
1 lovely day with DGD ,chatty ,relaxed ,loving course .Birmingham and getting on well with flatmates .My CC is weeping gently at a new winter ,waterproof jacket but at least she’ll be warm!
2 arrived home to an email saying they’d got my documents for probate, followed 10 min later by
3 probate granted ,get the feeling a button hadn’t been pressed as I knew they’d been signed for on 4/10
4 Three paper copies of the Grant of Probate arrived 2 days later .Now to do battle with Premium Bonds
5 off to Oxford for 4 days tomorrow, really don’t want to go now but I must push on .
have a deepening black eye from misjudging where the corner of the wall was in the dark ,really should have turned on the light !14 -
And workety work day number one is done!Noisy persons came home at 1.45am ( obviously by the creation of a cocktail bar when I came down this morning) carried on drinking then rather noisily came upstairs at 2.45am. One was not impressed! Some of us had alarm clocks going off at 5am! Anyway a beautiful doggy walk first thing still darkish when I left but a stunning golden glow as I walked up between an avenue of trees. I think a combination of the early light and the colour of the leaves.Walked to and from work . Met two separate friends on way home so two separate stops to chatter.Work was fine. It’s done. And tips were okay.Apparently I’m getting my dinner cooked though goodness knows what time we are eating!11

Pleasures for today (Sunday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Hens OK.
3) Went to Specsavers (within our branch of Sainsburys) to collect my new reading glasses.
4) Then went round Sainsburys.
5) Stopped on the way back home to look at 2 houses that I can't afford, from the outside. (2 are for sale on parallel streets). They are right on the edge of canal town with the end of the steam railway behind and a pretty good view.
6) Did quite a bit of cooking today. Part baked rolls for lunch (a smaller son favourite) then pasta for tea followed by cooked Worcs pears and maple syrup. Enough pears for the freezer and for my breakfast tomorrow. Also cooked a saucepan of leek and potato soup to eat at work tomorrow (and froze some).
7) Got house quite tidy and did a load of washing.
8) The boiler next door came back on again! Belching fumes (not smoke particularly, but a horrible oil smell that filled our house). I hate going round moaning about things and have probably only needed to do so about 4 times in the 22 years I have lived here. It was even worse outside. They are having it serviced on Wednesday but she rapidly turned it off when she opened the door and breathed in! They have lit their woodburning stove for heat but I don't know how they are going to heat the water for the hot taps. We then had a conversation about my cats, so I don't think she was too put out by my pointing out the fumes.
I noticed the other neighbour came out for something and nearly fell over coughing! It hangs in the air.
9) Phoned my school friend.
10) In bed with 1 hwb and will watch television for a bit.11 -
OH and I went to local park this morning to pay our respects and then had a delicious bacon 🥓 roll at the cafe there.
Walked home in the pouring rain 🌧
We had piri piri spatchcock chicken last night and had the remains in a stir fry tonight, it was rather good.
Furniture painting continues and my 2 small tables are now grey, instead of orange pine, to match the bookcase.
Watched strictly and the results, followed by Escape to the Chateau.
Night all.

1) 30 minutes kick boxing online class with the sound downand the radio4 morning service on then made carrot and ginger soup and a loaf of bread
2) caught the bus to church - met lovely admin person at the bus stop then who should already be on the bus than mum
3) after a very moving service mum and I had coffee at Waterstones then lidl then she caught the bus and I walked home with my rucksack full of veg then knock back bread Andy make into plait, leave to rise again, soup for a very late lunch with last of previous loaf
4) dr m came round late afternoon to get his passport application certified - reckons we’ve known each other 10 years as colleague and friend - and one thing you should know about dr m he is always right and it is indeed 10 years! I gave him half my latest loaf rather than put it in the freezer as I normally do
5) after dr m had left archers, cooked today’s and tomorrow’s supper and tomorrow’s lunch, ate supper, walked dogs and watched dr who. And now to bed night allMrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

1 Up very early to volunteer at a remembrance parade, every year I am surprised by the one person who literally has no idea what it is.
2 Might have had a nap when we got in.
3 Watched a lovely Disney movie, The Jungle Cruise.
4 The owls off hooting again.
5 I made a dreadful bowl of pasta that passed for dinner, now to add insult to injury I am cooking up “things from the freezer” may be chicken or party bits of something unlabelled.

For yesterday,
Up early and took small dog out before Capt S woke up.
Listened to the Archers and then over to the yard.
Started work on my horse a day early than planned as she was like a firecracker coming in, bit of lateral groundwork in school which gave her horsey brain something to do and calmed her right down.
Roast chicken dinner followed by choc brownie with ice-cream.
Roused ourselves long enough for a second dog walk of the day then watched tv, jury is out on the Larkins 🤨11 -
Quick dip in the shallows this morning!
Hope all are well, Jen sends a buzz!
Off now for the MoT at the docks. More tomorrow!I work from home so my cat can be fed on demand!10
