I can hardly believe I am having to type another update like this. Another classmate and friend of bigger son has died from suicide. She was in the friendship group of his classmate who took her own life last summer. This was particularly awful because it didn't go in a "straightforward" way (not that there is a right way, of course) and accidentally involved other people. No one else has been hurt physically. I messaged my brother and he said a friend of his died by suicide last week.
Pleasures for today (Friday)
1) Not a bad sleep. Lots of strange dreams, including one where bigger son and I were on holiday at the seaside but had to drive home for a football match then drive back to holiday again. More on that later...
2) Hens OK.
3) Went to a course about emotional resilience. Turns out I am not emotionally resilient enough to watch 5 people fart about trying to set up a power point for half an hour (why not get organised before your audience arrives?!) and block out the noise of 2 women doing pilates and yoga one-upmanship chat. After half an hour, I very quietly got up and walked out. They still hadn't started... (Also one of the speakers sounded just like Peter Andre, which was rapidly doing my head in).
4) I then had a much better time in Waitrose and also helping Father Christmas get stocking fillers from TKMaxx. I bought my new bauble for this year as well.
5) Got home and bigger son had returned so I heard his sad news. Smaller son had an excellent weekly email update from college.
6) Smaller son has been in a good mood all day BUT... our long awaited trip to Manchester, tickets bought, hotel paid for, train tickets bought... has fallen on the same day as the next FA cup match for our local team. So I need to try and rebook Manchester on Monday (if I can get tickets for local match). I've just managed to order a very limited edition T shirt for smaller son from local team. 36 made, as one of the players is 36. I wasn't quick enough to order one of the 36 mugs last week!
7) Watched the Last Leg and will watch Have I Got News For You just now.12 -
1. Picked up keys for the new houseand was given a lovely bottle of wine from Estate agents
2. Checked out the new house, got emotional as first home we've brought and just relieved that the process is all over
3. The couple we brought from left 2 wine glasses, a bottle of prosecco and a lovely card to say "we hope this house makes you happy as it did fir us for 39 years, best of luck"
4. They couple left behind so so much for us ; the wardrobes vanity/draw set, bedside units, 23 massive koi fish & food (wish I was joking) in the pond, garden bench , some potted trees, some garden ornaments, the WiFi box with password so I can work - i need a wired connection and we can't have our own virgin box installed or switched until 31st November but I go back back work on the 18th , their virgin media providers won't let them cancel until next year and where they are it doesn't have virgin connection so they've allowed me to use their box for time being
4. My uncle, auntie and one of my cousins came over . My uncleyears repairing a burnt out plug for us but since we live 45mins away the others came out for a drive and to see us.. haven't seen them fir a whole year or even longer . We Had such a lovely time and a good laugh. Was lovely to see my husband laugh and smile...been emotionally hard and stressful for him lately
5. Bedroom & bathrom 99% packed up
6. I'm 99% feeling cozy in bed for once , other 1% I'm having fibromyalgia pains
7. I feel happy as the new house would help our mental health so much and I can start becoming who I want to be (kinda silly to say as its a house but it would allow me to be more tidier, organised and would allow us to get pets always wanted dogs, had loads of green spaces, I have a bakc garden to create apeaceful and fun place, its easier to clean more, yo get out and exercise, lots of place to go , most shops and things we need all in one place - doctors is literally in shopping centre🗑️Mission Declutter & Clean 2022🧼 - 105 Items

1. Another enjoyable dog walk.even in the drizzle. I live in a beautiful area.
2. Spoke with my parents and heard my cousin has badly damaged her eye when a firework went off in her face. They were having them at home. She ha s had very good treatment but the doctors are being pessimistic about her future sight.
3. Cooked lasagne for tea with some to freeze for another day. It was tasty too.
4. Managed to do some gardening in the sun. More bulbs planted.
5. Spoke with DS1.

Good morning - very November looking out there
Frith - so sad to hear about son's friend. But excellent news about younger son's week at college.
Paulie - glad it's not just me struggling with Shetland. It seems to involve the entire population. If Douglas Henshall wasn't in it, I'd have given up!
D Doll - love the hedgehogs
Accidentalglixch - Happy New Home 😀 It sounds wonderful.
I'm sleeping really well at the moment ( this from someone who's usually up at 3am watching rubbish tv) Must have needed a week in Spain!
Have started buying Christmas present bits and pieces. Every year we say we'll cut back and every year we don't!
Paid caravan ground rent for another year. It's been a boon when we couldn't go anywhere else, and has been used more by DD and DS and family too. We need to go over soon to shut it down for winter as the site closes from end of November to beg of March.
Turned up a pair of jeans for DH yesterday. A 5 minute job took forever. Anything that could go wrong ,did. Bit like one of D D's hedgehogs!
Happy Novembery day everyone11 -
That is so sad about your son’s friend Frith.
Happy New Home AccGlitch.
For yesterday,
Out early as the car needed to be dropped at the village garage for its service and MOT, said to the mechanic about mouse invasion and various warning lights, cars were much simpler and cheaper without all these gadgets.
Nabbed Capt S’s car and went to emporium for a top up, few rtc bits put in freezer.
Feed store then over to the yard to drop off, greeted by the sight of my horse galloping around her field, you’re feeling well then! Walked up to see her and she charged over to the gate for a treat then off again around her paddock, bucking and bronking as she went, restarting work might be fun 🤣
Got call to pick up car, all done and dropped into co-op on way home to buy chocolate to compensate for bill paying.Made a paella for tea as found some rice that needed using up, not much saffron left so wasn’t very yellow but tasted good.
Opened the bar and had a cider whilst watching the footie.12 -
Hello.Bit too cosy! In the house of cosy cosy! I put a big log on before I went out a doggy walk and we are boiling!Don’t think I posted yesterday. Another quiet day. Was very rainy. Got soaked walking doggy then more soaked walking to and from mums. Sighed deeply at the state of the kitchen in 2 days. Had leftover chicken and vegetable pie for my late lunch. Went to bed quite early again.Today was a beautiful start. Thought I’d nothing to do work wise but was sent a message so went in as a favour and did some last minute catering.Nice walk to and from work.Home and out into the garden. A bit moved here. A bit chopped there. More leaves swept up…until the next time. Hello birdies.Watched some stuff on catch up. Showtrial is good on iPlayer.Lit a fire.Had beans on toast for late lunch.Nice doggy walk as sun was starting to set in sky.Knowing I’m in for the night…just me and strictly then bed! Youngsters are leaving from here sober and returning here probably less than sober…please be quiet when you come in! I sleep so lightly and find it hard to get back to sleep once I’m woken. Grrrr…in advance 😆11

@Frith
I'm so sorry to hear that. Thoughts with you all.
and thank you everyone
TODAY;- Had a nightmare in the night and had to ask hubs for a cuddle and he got me back off to sleep... was comforting to have him there (I have bad nightmares when I move / things change/Big life changing things happen)
- We put on some music which helped motivate us to pack up rest of kitchen
- My nan, grandad, mum & dad came over, my sister was poorly from flu jab so she stayed home bless her. Was good to see them
- They helped load up my hubs car & my nans car to take stuff over to new house
- They all loved the new house. My mum almost cried as I think she was proud and just really loved the house...
- We think the fish in the pond are different types of Koi & so worth quite a lot if so
- Having one last Chinese take out from our fave place as they don't deliver to new place
- All cozy and pleased with how well stuff is going

Sorry to hear about your cousin, VL.
Thank you for all the messages. Haven't heard from bigger son today but presuming all the young ones are doing ok.
Pleasures for today (Saturday)
1) Not a bad sleep. Smaller son and I sat up late last night listening to next door's boiler. I mentioned it to the former neighbours a few times (it fires up - it's oil - but only stays lit for a minute then conks out). Anyway, last night it got noisier and lit and went out every 4-5 seconds, hundreds and hundreds of times. The smell of partly burned oil filled our house (despite the windows being shut). We put the CO monitor in smaller son's room but that seemed fine. At 1am there was a final ominous burst, then silence. They don't seem to have been in at all today and there has been no boiler noise.
2) Lady 2 doors up moved out today. I didn't realise until I knocked on the window as normal to wave to her as I walked to my car and 2 unknown faces peered out nervously!
3) Hens OK.
4) Had a word with uphill neighbours as I walked to my car (after scaring the new neighbours by knocking on the window). Not bearded man has had his very important surgery delayed so is quite stressed.
5) Went to the football with smaller son and his team won 3-0. They are really on a roll at the moment. The next match will be the FA cup game. It has been chosen to be shown at length on MOTD!12 -
Frith, So sorry to read the sad update, but then I also grinned at the new neighbours wondering whats going on.
I was poorly last week not able to swallow even soup hurt, I did the obligatory covid test and its just come back negative, just a lergy from somewhere.
1 Pleased to check my account and it be okay, I think it’s down to not shopping at MrT anymore.
2 Checking the prices of things I am interested in purchasing on the dreaded black Friday week/month.
3 I’ve just done a lot of basic tidying glad it’s done.
4 Enjoying reading a little of Nigel Slater.
5 Hot milk and a drop of brandy goes well.
