5 OS pleasures in your day today - part 3
Comments
-
1. Survived work - more people off self isolating or at least children that are.
2. Online shop arrived with substitutions but they were all ok.
3. Long chat with neighbour.
4. Easy tea of quiche and salad.
5. Watched Only Connect and answered some questions correctly.11 -
For yesterday,
Hot, so hot which meant no sleep but at least I was up to water pots etc at 6am.
Food shopping, relieved to see that with just two exceptions all were still wearing masks.
Hello pony, far too hot for work so we just went for a walk instead and found her a patch of clover to munch on, in the shade for her human mum.
Small dog, flat out in front of the fan, snoring her head off.
Tasty tea, feta and spinach filo pie with various salads.

Morning all
Pleasures for yesterday
1. made a few tentative steps to re-engage with my research paper.
2. Met a friend for lunch and a walk in the park. Thankfully found a shady bench so spent most of our time there. She's been in France for a few weeks so was good to catch up - she's come back for the impending arrival of her first (and potentially only) grandchild.
3. had dinner in the garden as it was so hot inside. CHeese and lentil loaf and salad.
4. Spent an hour picking all the staples out of the stairs in preparation for new carpet tomorrow - not really a pleasure but better than OH doing it as he likes to let everyone know that he doesn't like it and in doing so demonstrates the full range of his vocabulary of swear words. The shower afterwards was most welcome.
5. Watched Long Lost Family
Have a nice day all - I'm off to london.I wanna be in the room where it happens11 -

I'm free!
And my first trip out after being pinged was to hospital outpatients with DH. Still, I'm glad I could accompany him, and I was allowed in for the consultation too. Always good to have a second pair of ears! He's on the waiting list for an operation but it could be ' many months '. Fortunately it's not urgent.
Next trip was to a garden centre cafe so that was nice. We sat outside in the sun by the pond and fed crumbs to the resident robin and wagtail.
Finished DD bunting but now she's isolating!! I might take it and post it through her letter box.
DS is coming for tea. All the rest of his family are at our caravan and he's going to join them early tomorrow morning. No point going after work tonight as the children will be asleep by the time he gets there. And probably DDiL too!
Think I'll go back into the garden for a bit more dead heading. I love dead heading, except for petunias. Sticky things they are.
Happy 🌞day again everyone

Hello! And the workety work is done! Hu-blooming-rah! Was covering someone’s annual leave last week but I end up worse off as I get taxed and NI’d loads! It’s like working for free a day and a half! Anyway it’s all done for a few days ( hopefully)
Girls gave me their tips again. Thank you !Rather sore finger, where I sliced it last week. Hoping it gets a chance to heal now it’s got a few days off!Just out a cool shower and looked in the wardrobe for some fashion inspiration…something cool anf floaty and found an all in one floaty thing I bought in a charity shop. ( where else? )I’m going to sit in the very flowery garden and enjoy my evening.12 -
Pleasures for today (Tuesday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Did jobs round the house and cleaned the bathroom.
3) Picked up smaller son's birthday present (shhh!)
4) Picked up little niece from school. My cries of, "Oh, what a wonderful paddling pool! Look at me, putting my feet in! Why not play in the garden a bit?" where ignored and we had the most involved and complicated teddy tea party upstairs where it must have been over 40 degrees!
5) Popped to Sainsburys afterwards.
6) Smaller son has been quite jolly this week so had made his own tea when I got home (Mine was thawing on the side so he hadn't left me out).
7) Went late to see the hens so I could clean them out without falling over in the heat.
8) Watched Holby City.
9) An hour in the garden just now with the cat on my knee,11 -
1) lovely holiday breakfast with the outlaws
2) took them round the botanics
3) after lunch we walked into town, then to the discovery, me to meet up with current and ex work colleague
4) went out for dinner - foolishly didn’t book and first 4 places full but ended up at curry house that I used to love - every bit as good
5) then Mennies with g, c and dr m. Will see them again next tuesday.MrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

Sorry you hate weekends, procrastinator.
Pleasures for yesterday
1. Finally got to celebrate passing my PhD viva - a year ago! So a trip to London was on the cards. Train journeys were good and, as ever, so grateful to have free travel
2. Good walks to and from station. In London, I was 2 hours early so i took 5 miles to walk 1 by going via the Regent's canal. Such a nice walk.
3. Got off at Regent's park by the Mosque - it was Eid so loads of people there all done up in their finery. Beautiful. Spied a stunning chandelier through the window of the Mosque, don't know why i was surprised to see a chandelier in a Mosque.
4. Lunch with supervisors in a French restaurant in Marylebone - paid for by the university. It was lovely.
5. Home and sat in the coolest room (it has no outside windows as the conservatory goes off it - it's coolest in summer and warmest in winter) to watch an Escape to the Chateau.
Have a great day all - the last bit of building work today, which is to have the carpet laid.I wanna be in the room where it happens10 -
1. Work busy - helps the day go fast.
2. Torrential rain, thunder and hail stones. Great to watch but pleased I was inside.
It added 30 minutes into my 15 journey home due to flooding.
3. Quick chat with DS1 to tell him to avoid certain roads.
4. Started shortening DH trousers - at least it's started.
5. Easy tea which was tast10
