For yesterday,
Opening all the windows first thing and feeling a cool breeze coming in.
Beloved was off to the cricket so lots of masks and hand sanitizer popped in his rucksack, it was a birthday present from youngest DSS otherwise think he may have changed his mind about going.
Over to see my girl, 25 degrees by 10am so just a gentle walk in-hand and bit of a pamper in the cool of the barn.
Got home and thunderclouds boiling up so washing in. Not much rain but loud claps of thunder that made small dog jump up.
New series of Secrets of the Museum, behind the scenes at the V&A. Interesting stuff.

1. It's supposed to mean Good Luck! Just landed, top and skirt - 😁
& was pausing after first few hours' garden biz.
2. Big bonkers weather yesterday, as for many of us. Noisy, dark, lightning, no rain, big rain, sun with blue sky storm eye, then all again in reverse. Interesting and good, & loves big weather.⛈🌩⚡🌦🌞💨🌧😃
3. Over an hour with WhatsApp free call, after msgs+pics, to oldest NZ schoolfriend, since 1954/5. Wonderful catching up - and it all worked!!! Amazing for here,🙂.
4. Greeted by this biggie first thing!
1st pumpkin flower, 😁 Huge!
5. Lovely long chats with Spain. Will check on last night's quiz result later. Very hot for upholstery working, way over 40⁰.
5a😀. Very exciting cricket listening last night - albion win v Pakistan.

Started trailer loading, must book dump run. Need to re-pot olive, too, despite wrong timing. Olives are survivors.

Ampersand, I looked on the Site Feedback forum. Apparently you will no longer be able to have private messaging group chats from the middle of next month. You will still be able to send PMs to one other person, as we do now, I wasn't aware that you could PM more than one person at the same time for a group chat, but that's what's stopping. It's to prevent bullying behaviour. One life - your life - live it!9

For yesterday
1 Clean bedding for us.
2 Cleaned out all of the animal bedding and the resulting 5 wash loads just qued around the kitchen today.
3 I ended up having to pop to aldee for veg, milk, strabs and picked up some marked down mince for the fuzzies.
4 Thunderstorms all around but nothing immediately overhead. I am hoping there was enough of a shower for the plants to class it as watered.
For today
1 Up early, wash load done and on the line by 7am, also a ferret cage re set up, just as somewhere for them to go if they want to, refreshed all the animal water, bird bath water and water troughs.
2 DH snoozing on the sofa, gently snoring for once, rather than the earth shattering so loud he wakes himself up and doesn’t realise why!
3 I’ve found a new book, it’s current 99p Kindle offer and so far it has really kept my interest. It’s called The Lost Apothecary, no affiliation just a recommendation if anyone’s after something new.
4 Woke DH up and we went across the bridge to Costc0 for a few things, before it gets to busy with school holidays looming up. It’s been 3 weeks since DH went out and I’m not sure he was really ready for it. I think it might have been too soon, he’s feeling fragile. Shopping wise we did well on offers we didn’t even realise. We bought a bedding set and thought twice about it at half price, it was a nice surprise that at the checkout it was reduced even further to £6 for a king size teddy fleece bed set.
5 I’ve applied for a role that looks nice, I’m also looking into degree options, just for “fun” via the ou at the moment, but it’s very expensive.
6 DH back asleep, I’ve watered both the front and back gardens with animal help, just settling down to watch Brian Cox.

PK - I agree with you - I was shocked how much the OU charges.
Pleasures for today (Wednesday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) I'm not sure if it was a degree cooler or if we're just getting numb to it now! I really dislike this sort of temperature yet everyone around seems to be enjoying it and carrying on outside and going for walks. 33 degrees at one point.
3) Posted an Ebay sale.
4) Hens OK.
5) Smaller son wanted to make his linguine dish so we had that for a late lunch. Toad in the hole for tea with peas and gravy, then I made a banana cake to use up leftovers.

how lovely vjsmum
Day 3 of my holiday (or 5 if it started Saturday)
1) last morning of my guests - has been huge fun, and they have invited us down in October. We're currently booked in for 4 nights at a hotel so will change that to 2 and stay at theirs 2 nights
2) they picked up their car hire car at 11, then at 12 mum and I got picked up by another friend for a lovely lunch at another friend's garden - all worked out very well
3) there were 10 of us at 2 different tables in our friend's gorgeous garden. Prosecco flowed (nosecco for the 2 drivers), lots of laughter and sun
4) weather cool enough by 7:30 to walk the dogs - lovely long walk round the nature reserve while speaking to dad on the phone
5) home and mrpiano phoned which was a lovely surprise
much fresher than last night so hoping for a better night's sleep.MrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

For yesterday
Up early and walking small dog in the cool of 6am. Then watered where needed and topped up bird food & water.
Few chores done before heat of day, this suits me being a lark rather than owl, by 9pm I’m like a wet dishrag!
Hello pony, oh, you were obviously rained on yesterday afternoon, then you rolled in the wet dust and are no longer a light grey, sigh!
Capt S arrived home mid afternoon ( he stayed away for the cricket ) first time we had been apart for at least two years, missed him.
Tea was salmon burgers, had been a tad heavy handed with the chilli flakes but tasty all the same.8 -
Good morning! Was too tired to post last night as I came up to bed quite late.To be a roasty day here so I’m trying to get as much done this morning and get it all out the way. We were out walking at 5.45am to have a decent walk in the beautiful cool air. And I need to go in to town soon to go to the bank and deposit a jam jar full of change!Yesterday was my first proper day off.Had a back massage. Ouch ouch ouch. First in six weeks. And I’ve just moved my shoulder and thought oooh then remembered it had been deeply massaged. Then we went to supermarket, was literally down to the last scoop of dog food, the last diluted splash of fabric conditioner etc…though thankfully not quite the last loo roll but heading that way!Got a till spit £20 off voucher for electricals over £150.00, so a new TV purchase made later which also had an in store £30 off it. Been humming and hawing for a while as I’m fed up watching stuff on a tiny screen so now can watch on a bigger screen. Not a huge screen just 32” as I’m not a huge telly dominating the room person ( fine if you are) but I can now watch Netflix etc on a telly rather than on my iPad or phone screen which is what I was doing. So I’m pleased I saved £50.Got a couple of RTC houseplants and a very sad looking astilbe which is now much happier looking now it’s had a good drink. Often that’s just all they need!Had to go to the mothers and do stuff in an overly hot house. It’s always hot there but Lordy at yesterday heat in it! Gah! Have said I’ll go back round this evening when it’s a bit cooler in her back garden which will be in shade by then.Had a lovely chat with my sister whilst sitting in the shade ( she was sitting in her garden in direct sunshine…quite opposite! She loves the sun , me not so much.DD2 was eating the pea pods last night.Courgettes have finally started to do something courgettey! This morning I’ve walked, weeded and swept garden, had an hour long chat with friend in Melbourne. I’m just heading out to town and that’s as much as I hope to have to do .
have a lovely day9 -
