Good afternoon😎🌞🔥
Yes it's hot, hot, hot, but it's nearly ice cream in the shade time.
Ampersand - that's a truly magnificent flower.
Went to town this morning to get bits from Boots, pound shop etc. Not too busy so was quite a pleasant experience. But lots more shops are shut and some have re opened selling random stuff spread out on the pavement. It's all quite sad.
Bought a dressing gown from Primani and the belt is missing. That'll teach me to check. So another trip to town needed soon!
Still dead heading and weeding. Green bin collections now suspended because of staff shortages so better not do too much.
The decorator rang yesterday and he can start late August. First time we've ever used a decorator, always done it ourselves. Well, DH has if I'm honest with me as tea maker and brush cleaner. Exciting!
Right, ice cream is calling
Happy 🌞🌞🌞day everyone

Laughing at a shouted conversation between my 2 uphill neighbours! One is trying to find something in his shed while the other is trying to pass the same tool (?) over the hedge and is talking to the dog!
Pleasures for today (Thursday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Texts from bigger son (finally!)
3) Hens OK.
4) Posted another Ebay parcel and gave second hand egg boxes to the shop.
5) Had a bit of a tidy up.
6) Took smaller son for a drive and popped in to Sainburys.
7) Possibly slightly less hot...
8) Just finished the Virtual Pub Quiz.
9) Wrapped my sister's birthday presents for tomorrow and I found a little brass rubbing kit in the charity shop that my niece can play with when I go round for lunch.12 -
Hello. Oooooft at the heat upstairs!Been so hot today.
Into town.
went to bank and banked my normal tips and then my charity tips. I’d treated myself to something a few weeks ago that was from my normal tips but that was me just banking them.Went to B and Q for paint and another car full of RTC plants! Including a lovely big lavender. Several runner beans complete with trellis pot that will be handy to hang on to for next year. Some strawberries down to 50p.Home. Ooooft at the heat. And I painted my living room wall in all that heat! I had had it wallpapered last year and just never really loved it but couldn’t justify changing it…then I’ve got my new telly and I just thought if you’re going to be sitting in here at least have a wall you like! So it’s now a duck egg blue-ish colour. Two coats and will need to see what it’s like in daylight tomorrow as it was too dull there to properly see now it’s dried.Had to go to mums and did some garden stuff for her.Them went to supermarket and got some RTC flowers .Popped into see friends and chattered with them and had lovely doggy cuddles. Then walked home and took H out a very quick walk. Then bedtime! And a bit of a strange thing. I usually take my ring off to paint. And went to but it was already off and I couldn’t remember taking it off at all ( thought I was going doolally!) and I’d looked in all the obvious places. Anyway DD2 checked in my bed tonight and it was inside my journal that I wrote when OH was ill, it’s usually on my bedside table but was in my bed as I’d been checking a date for something. I must have taken it off in my sleep last night. Hmmmm. Very odd. But it’s now back on my finger!10 -
For yesterday,
Another hot one, phew, oh well at least the washing dries v quickly!
Made a fruit jelly for dessert, have been craving for a few days.
Visit to farm shop, some local strawberries and bread flour.
Group chat with friends, we are trying to arrange a get together but first date so far is early September.
The beautiful nearly full moon rising, blushed pink, in the evening sky.10 -
Good afternoon
I think we have a sea fret here, though we're about 90 miles from the sea! It's been very grey all day but still not really cold.
S Sue - are you allowed out yet? I've been out 3 mornings this week. Just because I can!
Mhagster - that is indeed very strange!
VJs mum - I have a Shark and I love it. And I don't even like housework!
Talking of which, today has been a housework day. It's been too hot all week to be bothered but there's no excuse today!
BLT and fried up potatoes for tea so that's easy enough
DS and family are on their way back from the week at the coast. They sound happy, but the adults are exhausted! And DS complains that his new car is full of sand!
Going out to pick lavender now, ready to make lavender bags when it's dry. I love the smell.
Happy Friday everyone

Hello
Hope you are all well.
Over these last few months have seen David Attenborough encouraging people to sit anywhere outside and within 10 minutes nature will come/appear.
In my Mum's front garden it's there waiting for you in all it's glory. Birds hopping here and there, singing and swooping. A lushness to all plants. It's so amazing. My soul feeds from it. I miss Tiggy.
Have a great day one and all.

Bala, Hugs ,can you not bring Tiggy with you ?
Tomorrow would have been our Golden Wedding Anniversary.
I keep telling myself that it’s just a number and the pleasures are that we did have 49 and 3/4 yrs ,but …12 -
Oh Sue the shoulda woulda coulda’s are hard. I found it really hard when others married around a similar time to us celebrated their Silver anniversary because we didn’t quite get there ( though we had a beautiful celebration six months earlier) also when others were turning 50 & he didn’t. Big hugs and 49 3/4 is a fabulous achievement x
ooooft it’s hot.Took my spare pot of paint back for a refund and may have bought very RTC plants!Popped in to work very briefly, I’ve a busy morning tomorrow so was just checking what I needed.
Did a bit of gardening, five minutes at a time as it was too hot to be out.Watched the end of Baptiste.
Downstairs is tidy.Bedding changed and bedroom hoovered…if only I’d put my clothes away in a wardrobe…a job for tomorrow!12 -
Thanks Mhags
