Hello.I’m just into my bed! I need an early night! Probably won’t sleep straight away ( every possibility that I might! )
Had a lovely day, we went right to the other side of the country and visited my SIL. First time we’ve seen them in about 17 months ( was probably last Feb 2020)
DD2 drove ( as I hate driving but I was a reasonable co-pilot)
Sat in the garden and had a lovely lunch of chicken and salad and the most amazing potatoes. Then pudding of a lemon tart and some fruit. Chatter. Chatter. Chatter. Then home. So not very many steps done today as almost 4 hours in a car and and an afternoon of sitting, ah well…just have to do extra the other days!Friend kindly popping in to see H and giving him lots of cuddles and attention though he was pleased to see us when we got back.
I cut the back grass and then watered the garden.11 -
Wow DD, what are the chances in that, that is amazing.
It seems weird to be inside with the air con running on a day like today but it was just to warm in the main midday part.
1 Fresh cranberry bread, grilled bacon, melted brie, ah Sunday brekkie definitely not diet but very nice.
2 I forgot to order milk, I feel daft however we have long life and it can be passable for a few days. MSE ways. Also have to phone Mr T who decided to charge full price rather than offer price on all of the shop I am sure they will sort it. There seem to have been a lot of money mistakes recently I’ve had to chase down, I think of my dad who wouldn’t have known how to sort it and probably just wouldn’t have.
3 Home made chilli with tortillas tonight, fine but so hot to cook.
4 Some time watering the garden later tonight as the hydrangeas are looking very sad.
5 Found a few films on Prime and bought the magnificent men in their flying machines as I know dh loves it, the painkillers are bothering him he’s sleeping during the day but not able to sleep at night because he can’t get comfortable so he’s frustrated with it, I’m trying to find things to distract him from it.

Happy birthday VJsMum DD.
1. Some weeding of veg patch done early before it became too warm. it looks much better.
2. Went to a local garden for a walk round with DH. It was lovely with a woodland area. It felt very peaceful.
3. Reading a book sunbathing in the garden.
4. Met friends for a bbq. It was a fun evening sitting in their garden eating, drinking and talking.
5. Bathroom ceiling looking better as DH painted it.10 -
DD - echoing Pk, amazing timing and fortune with that good young man and your card/bookmark.
Vl - your lovely Jersey holiday feels very shared, thankyou. Had a day, only a day, there once, long ago. Remember a beach of tiniest pink shells underfoot.

1.
Rescued, but not before finding his/her way indoors and flapping about in several panics. Threw flimsy nightie over him/her, aware that shock is the frequent killer of little birds. One of 2 fledged thrushes, still seen with parents, thoroughly at home chez & now. Distinct voice cheeps. They chat to and fro for half hours at a time.
2. Gave the powerful Jeremiah reading at morning prayer yesterday. Felt good to do so. We weren't alone. During 1st hymn, in strode large white Persian puss who proceeded to take over, le Star,😁🐾. He stalked about up and down aisles, investigating, smooching various of us at times- so favoured! - also our AWM's black robes, of course. S worked his 50-minutes' presence into everything very well.
Had deliberately left phone in car, so no pics, but.....
3. .....raced back to sort bits for afternoon church picnic elsewhere in benefice, where news of Monsieur le Blanc, l'Empéreur, had preceded us. So, more and more of this glorious beautiful🌞day, happy munch, shared good times, getting to know new people, many young families⭐ and &'s 1st ever Pimms, in memory of &'s maman(post passim) and great talking, as always, with J. When will we yurp travel again?😟😖 Must see Art exhibitions. The loveliness of these days.
4. Did take this One Little Cloud pic😁 -
5. Amazing news of prayed for person continuing. Msg just on midnight - 15 steps taken! Exhausted, low bp and further transfusions o/n, but Wow! &'s return msg declares this to be the greatest ever 1st XV 😀🙏.

My hydrangea is drinking away too, pk. & is potting up loads of who knows what? Odd little sprigs are springing up in odd places. I'm watering away throughout when seeing things can't wait until dusk. &'s courgettes v slugs is NOT a good story.....ongoing🐌🤬

Off to dental check now. Hope that dreaded baddie, Bertie Germ, of &'s early 50s NZ childhood has not taken up residence😁.

Good afternoon
Very envious of all you folk getting out and about, but also love reading about your trips.
Ampersand - really pleased your prayed for person is improving. And wish I'd seen your cat visitor.
Only one day to go now. I'm still enjoying the weather ( it's almost never too hot for me) and love the warm nights to sit outside with a cool glass. Very rare in this country ( or at least, in this county)
Enjoyed a long phone call with a friend. Not spoken for a while so plenty to chat about.
Watched Baptiste last night. Enjoyed it so far.
Happy 🌞 day everyone

Glad your person is on the mend ampersand
Pleasures for yesterday
1. It was DD's 25th birthday so her day. It began with me baking her a coca cola cake (a la Nigella). I had a photo of her in cosplay as Cinderella printed onto icing as a cake topper - she loved it.
2. DD, OH and i went out for brunch at a Faro Lounge - i had sriracha eggs. Was yum.
3. DD and i watched the Princess Bride - once i relaxed into the fact that it was meant to be stoopid, i enjoyed it.
4. Then cake and pressies - all were a hit. But particularly successful were the Disney tea towels and scrubbers (kind of as a 'bottom drawer' pressie because she wants to move out - alone, not getting married).
5. Finally, the four of us went out for dinner. Restaurant was crowded outside but not inside where we were. I had a whole sea bream with salad, was nom.
Have a lovely, sunshiney day all.I wanna be in the room where it happens11 -
Pleasures today -
Initially groaned because I was wide awake at 06:00, but have done lots today.
Two lots of washing done and dried outside.
Missed son's birthday yesterday because I was working, but gave him his presents today, and he was delighted.
Chinese takeaway for lunch.
The scent of philadelphus as I lay in the garden.
Choir rehearsal in the room for the first time in 16 months. Great to see each other properly and belt out the songs together. Term ended today, and we were told of the three amazing songs we will learn next term - Angels (Robbie Williams), I Wanna Dance with Somebody (Whitney Houston) and Make Your Own Kind Of Music (Mama Cass/Paloma Faith).
Sunshine, fresh air, flowers in the garden, dog, cats, family, days off work, life itself.
One life - your life - live it!12 -
VJsmum - as you wish.
Pleasures for today (Monday)
1) Not a bad sleep, especially considering the temperature.
2) Did various house type jobs, including a load of washing that dried very rapidly.
3) Went to see the hens and spoke to the allotment owner on the way.
4) Smaller son bought a new desk (with birthday money that he hasn't received yet...) and it arrived this morning from Ikea. A big improvement on the previous one which was for children so he could no longer get his legs under it unless he put his chair down very low!
5) Popped to Greggs this afternoon and they were nearly shut (the time given on the internet wasn't correct). We had our sausage rolls. The man said they start clearing and the food goes somewhere else (charity?) but then he nipped round the back and got us 2 doughnuts for free.
6) Made some ice cream that we have just tested. Just double cream, condensed milk and tinned peaches.
Nothing else to report. I'm a bit bored, but far too hot to do anything about it!11 -
