Good afternoon

lovely sunny day here

MHagster - I know what you mean about keeping away from folks, but I thought I already did! Wouldn't be so bad if I'd been in a fan zone dancing and hugging! Never mind. One day gone already.

Ampersand - those pesky slugs! But a deer! Oh my!

Enjoyed Only Connect and actually answered a couple correctly. Still got Uni Challenge saved. Don't want to wear my poor brain out doing both on one day.

Been painting the garden trellis. I enjoy outside painting. You don't have to be too pernickety so it's a nice calming thing to do.

The freezer was getting silly. Too many random leftovers. So tonight's tea is stew and dumplings mixed with Bolognese sauce. Should be interesting!

Feels like an afternoon to lie in the garden and read a book. Well, I'm not allowed to go anywhere so may as well make the most of it.

And workety work day five done. Oooft another hot and busy day. Two to go. 

Nice walk this morning just before 6am, just me  and the doggy and the birds then home for a quick potter around the garden.

Then work. An alright day. Company good and we had a right laugh , proper doubled over belly laugh this morning. My kitchen companion has a great sense of humour and I really appreciate working with her ( because I don’t on my normal days! ) 

Had a huge bowl of leftover from work  salad for my tea. Guzzled as soon as I got in.

Good news & 
OH and I had a busy afternoon in the garden but I am enjoying the results!
Breakfast 🍳  at our favourite cafe this morning 
Haircut yesterday and eyebrows waxed and tinted today (first time for 18 months🤭)
Chicken casserole 🥘 and mash for dinner with a glass of red wine 🍷, delicious 
Progress being made in bathroom and is beginning to look lovely but the pump that has been put in to sort out the dire water pressure isn’t working 😬

1) another beautiful day - sat in the garden reading a very interesting book 0 to infinity over 26 centuries
2) had a gap in meetings 2:30 - 4:15 so decided to ignore emails and walked into town with dd2
3) met a friend from church - she has many health issues and struggles - brought a smile to her face and said how lovely her smile was which made her beam even more 
4) finished work at 6:30 and decided to ignore emails. instead we went to mr T
5) after tea went for lovely long walk with the boys and phoned gbf
now watching Miranda. such fun

Pleasures for today (Thursday)

1) Good to get up after a rubbish sleep.

2) Went to see my school friend for a cup of tea.

3) A quick drive out to the posh hen place. (They sell all breeds of hens and have a massive shop plus offer hen boarding!) Got a sack of layers pellets and some grit.

4) Went to Waitrose cafe for another cup of tea by myself. 

5) Hens OK.

6) Had a good go in the garden and will attach a photo of the ridiculous hollyhocks in a minute. I left the broom in the picture for scale. The glass thing was a wildlife pond but the cat kept drinking the stagnant water from it so I'm going to take it to the allotment. 

7) Did various jobs plus a load of washing.

8) Made jacket potato, cheese and beans for tea, which pleased smaller son. It is his last day of isolation today. No symptoms at all.

For yesterday,

Baby bunnies in the garden, the next batch I guess!

Cleaned the bathrooms, always a pleasure when it’s done.

Met DSIL in cathedral city and had a good catch up over lunch, I was good and had a goats cheese & mushroom salad.

We had a good look around the CS’s and I found a lovely little dish with lemons on to keep my lemons in ☺️ have a thing for items which look like the stuff you use them for.

Watched and enjoyed Escape to the Chateau, make do and mend.

A quick smile for you all - last year yesterday the pubs and hairdressers reopened in Scotland. Here's me and Mr Piano enjoying a pint after our respective hair appointments

Morning all from the early train  - ish.  We are en route to the mother in law's.  

Pleasures for yesterday 

1. Builder came back to re mastic the bath. 
2. Finished repainting a sideboard- it's looking good as long as you don't look too closely 
3. Went shopping for DDs birthday on Sunday.   Pleased with my purchases 
4. Had various bits waxed and eyebrows tinted.  
5. Aubergine and pasta bake for tea.

Think I've missed a couple of days so to catch up
Wed: Walk by local lock, found parking first try, had ice cream, got steps in, enjoyed seeing waterfowl with young.
Thurs: Grand day out. Kensington Palace, viewed the wedding dress, weather perfect to enjoy gardens, chatted to lovely people, had small glass of wine.
Fri: Slept well, load washing on line nearly dry, not aching, feet OK, off to local park for walk.
