Not at its best, flowers dying off a bit, but this is the bush from my bedroom window.
One life - your life - live it!10 -
For yesterday,
Received cheque in post from survey company, will now close a/c as they are a pain to deal with but was determined to get to pay threshold, will put into savings pot for new pair of long riding boots.
Weather warm & muggy so pony and I went for a meander.
Into Uni City for haircut, teased hairdresser about his spotted media appearance when discussing recently departed health minister.
HM meatballs with spaghetti for tea, figured we would need some slow burn energy for match.
The football, oh my! Schmeichel was immense in goal for Denmark and we both called his penalty save but not the follow up tap in. I just hope my nails grow back in time for Sunday’s final, eeek!11 -
Morning all. Seem to have struggled finding time to post. Lovely pics, thanks.
Well done on leaving the house, Procrastinator (that should also be my name)
Pleasures for the last whatever.
1. The weather has been so much better than forecast - only Saturday has seen rain in the daytime.
2. Have done some visiting places that OH's ancestors lived. Kids found it dull unfortunately but i was fascinated and according to DD OH had "lost his effing mind..."(he was a little like a man possessed, it has to be said!)
3. Lovely day on La'al Ratty (Ravenglass and Eskdale railway) yesterday. Including a pub lunch.
4. DS driving over Hardknott Pass as a Hercules plane flew low over us
5. Pub meal on Monday and cinema on Tuesday nights.
Last day today - we're climbing the Old Man of Coniston. i think that should deserve cake at the end, don't you?I wanna be in the room where it happens11 -
Good afternoon
PK - I hope MrPK is improving and enjoying the low GI meals. They sound delicious.
Bala - hope all is going well.
Procrastinator ( you're not alone in that!)- Well done on your trip out.
Ampersand - Lovely looking jam, though I don't like rhubarb. I grew up surrounded by fields of it. We used to call it tusky and ate it raw, dipped in sugar. I think the resulting tummy aches put me off for life!
Has been a glorious sunny day today. Yesterday we had storms and much rain. Then in the evening our water went off! Surrounded by huge puddles and no water in the tap. Fortunately it was restored after a couple of hours, and meanwhile we had to drink wine!
We spent most of this morning doing the admin connected to buying a new car and upgrading DH phone. Lots of emails, phone calls , online firms etc but I think we're sorted now. A pleasure indeed.
Been wrapping birthday presents for DGD birthday. She'll be one next week but we've only really seen her in the last month. It's a delight that she now grins when she sees us instead of looking worried about the strangers who've just walked in.
Happy Thursday everyone

Hello. Been a dry but dull day though what you’d probably called mild. Neither cold nor warm.Struggled with the alarm going off , it’s always better if I wake up before or get up straight away. Snooze button is never good!Just a quick doggy walk and then a walk to work, work, then walk home. Then did a litter pick. Jings! So much today had to double bag as it was going to burst!Home and DD2 went to work and I went in to town. Returned a top I’d got yesterday to a charity shop ( which DD2 thought was ridiculous!) ( the returning not the top!) bought some flowers from my florist. Just a little bunch and had a nice chat with one of the girls that works there. Then into the next shop along and bought a lovely pottery house that you put a candle in. It was my treat to me from my tips. Then to M&S and just got a few things. Then into another charity shop which I ended up leaving as there was absolutely no sense of social distance from the volunteers…like coming up right next to me to hang something up. Twice . Just inches away from me. No thank you. Heeby jeebies! Then the hike up the hill , though I saved a parking ticket fee and I got extra steps in … I’m past my daily target today.Home and then joined DD2 at her work whilst she was on a break from a split shift. Her treat. I’m stuffed!Mini Snoozette when I came home and now need to do the things I should have done earlier!10

been a strange day, but here's 5
1) went for a walk with dd2 - good to walk and talk
2) we got a couple of steak rounds - 1 for the fridge, 1 for the freezer, but of course both for us
3) friend who died last august's memorial service in the afternoon - we had hoped restrictions would have been lifted by now but hey ho. however we were able to have 4 times the number at the funeral
4) met dd2 after for a cuppa
5) eco group meeting online - very interesting, but have to say at 20:48 looking forward to my supper!MrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

Oh arris, I copied and forgot to paste.
1 Just had a snack of phili and chives on a couple of sour dough slices, trying hard with the diet.
2 Last night was hard for DH a lot of pain, but I think he’s starting to feel a bit more with it today.
3 Fresh bedding for us tonight.
4 Seeing the most beautiful butterflies wander through the garden.

Pleasures for today (Thursday)
1) Not a bad sleep. Smaller son has only been to college 3 hours this week (refusal, that's not his timetable) which did mean, after my efforts at 7.30 this morning, I thought I would "rest my eyes" for a minute. Woke up at 11.30am.
2) Hens OK. Picked a bowl of currants and raspberries. Might make a currant flan for the match on Sunday, if I remember to buy the gel stuff.
3) LO homemade pizza and cheese and biscuits for lunch. Made toad in the hole for tea with peas and gravy then had tinned rice pudding and today's raspberries.
4) Cut smaller son's hair so he can see where he is going now. A short back and sides with the clippers - they've been worth every penny over the last 18 months. It is thick and wavy enough to hide my mistakes. Unlike mine and bigger son's.
5) Bigger son sent some messages and photos of he and his girlfriend in Wales over the past few days. His driving test (Monday) has been cancelled. He had to wait 8 months for this one but they rearranged it and it is early August.
6) Have been inefficiently wandering round this evening getting stuff ready to go to Manchester tomorrow.12 -
Exhausted today so no outing.
Load of washing done, line dried and put away.
Long afternoon nap
Messaged nice friend
Long bath and hair wash.

For yesterday,
Driving through the village and the children were doing the equivalent of the old cycling proficiency test, lots of wobbling and arms being shot out so wide berth given.
Pamper session for equine girlie, trimmed her tail and tidied her mane, she snoozed in the sunshine.
Afternoon snoozette for me too.
Woke up fancying cake so quick batch of rock cakes made, the smell of them baking fetched Capt S down from his office.
The hedge in full blossom and alive with pollinators.
