Just a wee quick early post for me. Waking up to the fact that DD1 is back home in Melbourne. It’s taken almost 3 weeks to get there with travel restrictions and quarantine and a Melbourne that’s in lockdown and every other flight bar hers being canceled flying in this morning. But she back and I’m happy that she is happy.Doggy and I have been tramping through the buttercups this morning. Refreshingly cool after the heat of yesterday and the even hotter of today.I’ve a back massage of the ow ow ow variety at 9am and a covid vaccine at 10.30am ...all the joys today!Have a lovely day. Stay safe and keep smiling 😊10

Ampersand - a lovely post. It made me feel better reading it.
Frith- love the photo.
Don't think I posted yesterday so I'll try and find some for a couple of days.
1. The sun and it's warm. Much needed I think for all.
2. Neighbours daughter had good news about a biopsy.
3. Some support at work. My back has gone and I went to work as most people on leave and would have caused chaos if I hadnt. One of the clerical team seemed to go out of her way to make things as hard as possible.
4. Sitting in the garden and the ducks being braver and coming closer to us.
The ducks and the chickens are also not ignoring each other any more.
5. Chat with new neighbour and have him some eggs.11 -
Lovely news on your earring &
For yesterday,
Poorly dog in house so up for most of night, definitely not a pleasure nor the necessary clearing up, nor the inability to have lie-in as window cleaner due first thing but a big thank you to the first, strong coffee of the day.
Did have two naps though, one at 11ish and again at 3.
In between sleeps, bit of weeding in shadier parts of garden, washing quickly drying on line and a good chat with my volunteer network coordinator.
Tasty tea of salmon burgers and veg.
Have been meaning to post this for a few days but oh the glorious colour of this azalea which sits in a pot by the front door.

very uplifting post & am now imagining the waft of honeysuckle
beautiful photo LaineyT
Glad to hear dd1 back safely mhags
1) beautiful sunny day (though sadly like you mhags was in work for most of it)
2) but did manage lunch with friends at local hotel - as i had meetings either side and mum wasn't drinking she kindly gave me a lift both ways to maximise my chat time
3) after last meeting went for run - am repeating C25K run week 9 - amazed to get back to bottom of my road by end of running bit (dr no had said just stick with this run for the next few weeks and work on speeding up 5k)
4) shower then supper with the archers then sat in porch reading a book (though sadly the haar came back in so had to change into warmer clothes!) waiting for arrival of
5) dd2 back from a lovely week with her bf in London. Cept he broke up with her monday evening - she knew it was likely but seems so sad just as travel restrictions are lifting a bit. So we went for a long tearful walk with the boys then watched an episode of death in paradise. Cos that's what mums are for.MrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

1) A 7 year old pickle tapping on the bedroom door at 7 on the dot and snuggling up into the bed with me!
2) Just been on a trip to the local Birds of Prey Centre with him, the tickets give a years entry so it cost not a penny more. Fabulous flying displays everything from a tiny burrowing owl to a massive Steppe eagle, much enjoyed.
3) Watching the 7 year old go dewy eyed and gentle when we heard the owl fledgling one of the bigger owls is brooding in the enclosure chirruping under mum and her looking down at it...was lovely!
4) Very hot out and OH bought us all an ice cream as we left, oh blissful!
5) The afternoon will be spent in part making walnut shell sailing boats and if the storms don't arrive too early taking them to the local lake for a sailing race, the walnuts are inside the 7 year old...he's a nut fiend!10 -
Lovely to hear lots of good news in this glorious weather, with lots of lovely pics too.
D Doll - so sad for DD. I'm not so old that I can't remember how much unrequited love hurt!.
V life - I do wish some of your colleagues could be a bit kinder.
Love your azalea, Lainey. We walked yesterday in a local park which has huge banks of the most colourful rhododendrons. They are truly magnificent. Can you imagine what they must be like in the wild!
Supermarket today. I had to buy a new electric mixer. My old one went wonky and the beaters kept bumping into each other. Both that one, and the new one, are the shop's cheapest own brand hand held so I didn't mind spending more money. I'd had the old one about 8 years so it cost about £1 per year.
Still sewing cushions - big job!
Happy 🌞🌞🌞 day everyone

Yesterday pleasures .....and today.
Trip to Scotland (about 80 miles or so) for a 24 hour mini break.
A four hour lunch in a garden with friends, loads of food, loads of cake and yatter yatter.
Fabulous hot sunshine all day, yes, even in Scotland!
Gifts of home made marmalade and tablet from friends, oh my poor teeth don't know what's coming!
On to a village pub for the night, bed and breakfast accommodation pre-booked.
Room tiny but comfortable, with en-suite, telly, teamaking stuff and complementary toiletries.
Lovely evening meal in restaurant.
Massive breakfast this morning.
Easy two hour drive home after breakfast.
Lazy afternoon, sunny again.
This evening will be spent loafing around watching mindless telly, then an early night. One life - your life - live it!13 -
A mix for a few days.
1 Dh had to be up early for a doc apt.
2 We popped over the bridge to pick up some C0stco offers, it seemed no matter where we went, what we wanted was mainly on offer or marked down in various shops, the freezers are now full to bursting.
3 Wow the heat today, ferret wash loads done and hanging out, clean bedding on for them, bird feeders re stocked.
4 Build it yourself wraps, chicken, rice salad and salsa for dinner.
5 Watched a couple of weird and wonderful films over the last day or two.

Recent pleasures:
Enjoying the sunshine in the garden.
Inflatable hot tub unpacked but it’s developed several punctures and did not repair, pleasure is new one ordered and should be with us tomorrow.
Visit with sister and great niece to my lovely park today.. I had booked the mini beast encounter which was enjoyed but niece was moaning a lot of the time “it’s too hot, etc” so we came back to mine for lunch and so she could play under the sprinkler, then she was “too wet” ! 🤣
Visit to sister in law this afternoon so OH could cut the grass etc and then we had kebabs delivered which were very nice.
Glad to be in bed as I found today tiring, probably because it was “too hot” 🤣
night all, sleep tight 💤12 -
Sorry to hear about DD2, DD.
Pleasures for today (Wednesday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Hens OK.
3) Porridge and blueberries for breakfast with some for the hens.
4) Took bigger son to the dentist (appointment number 7!) This was x rays and general decision making about constructing a new front tooth. It made him feel a bit funny when she compared today's x rays to the ones she took on the day he fell off his bike onto his face. Amazingly, the front tooth that lost 4mm, was pushed backwards and was agonising for a week (think maximum painkillers and special numbing gel) is still alive so it is all go to have a bridge glued in to fill the gap. 2 more appointments to go...
5) Took bigger son to my brother in law's afterwards as brother in law wanted to take him back to work so he could have a look round. (He also works in outdoor education). After that I popped to Lidl. The man in front of me was given the "queue closed" thing to put on the conveyor belt and as he put it down he said, "Finally, I have some authority", and I said, "Ooo, the power!"
6) Swapped our SIMs so we are now on £8 a month for a better service, rather than £13 and £35 a month.
7) Toad in the hole for tea with peas and butternut squash.
8) Watched the England v Austria match with smaller son.
9) Just caught up with the Great British Sewing Bee.10
