1) kedgeree for breakfast, lunch and dinner (it was a bargain bag of haddock which couldn't be refrozen - luckily i don't mind eating the same thing 4 meals running, and it was very good kedgeree, unless you like eggs in your kedgeree in which case you would have found it lacking
2) managed to fit some vacuuming in between meetings which gets me active and gets the house clean - win win
3) after my last meeting walked up to balgay with the boys and ran half way up the hill - i made it to the bench so that's my next challenge, that and of course building up to my 10k
4) home, brought in the washing - 3rd lot in 3 days all dried on the line hooray
5) and now listening to Bowie starting with Low.

Hello. What a glorious day it’s been ( though 9.5 hours spent at work) but dinner eaten in the garden and then I’ve sat on garden sofa for a while.Lovely early morning walk over the field ( not so much the 2.10am vomiting on the stairs! )Work was so stressful it was unbelievable! Be careful what you wish for...with more responsibilities! Anyway big days done for a few days.Home, hurrah! And hello doggy, sat and had tea and chatted with DD2.
And that’s about it!12 -
Quick pleasures for today (Monday, though has felt like Sunday all day).
1) A lie in.
2) Hens OK.
3) Talked to the new neighbours for about 30 minutes about all the things they have found wrong with their house so far. (The roof is going to be replaced first).
4) Went geocaching with my brother but it was too hot really.
5) Picked bigger son up from work.
6) Tasty tea of HM kebabs with cous cous then smaller son helped me make a banoffee pie but blueberries, rather than bananas.
7) Did the most recent pub quiz with bigger son.12 -

Pleasures for last couple of days
1 we've walked 45 miles in 3 days 😳 which I didn't think I would be able to do
2. In glorious sunshine 🌞
3. With mostly glorious views (except milford haven) 🏖
4. A bbq on the coast path overlooking the sea in gorgeous evening sun
5. Some nice food eaten and wine drunk. 🍷 with champagne 🍾 to celebrate the halfway point of our 870 mile Coast path quest..
Later all enjoy the day

For yesterday,
Snap on the monday / Sunday thing Frith, bit discombobulated all day.
Over to the yard and moved girlie into a new paddock for the summer, she is still on the side nearest the barn with all the other escapologists where they can be kept an eye on! She was just happy to have new grass and barely raised her head when I left.
We had planned on a long walk across the heath but small dog had a poorly tum and was lethargic all day so we stayed at home & enjoyed our own garden, saw our first dragonfly.
Finally getting to wear a summer’s dress and pink, painted toes in sandals.
Still a bit of light in the sky as we headed to bed.

1) Picking up the eldest Grandpickle this morning to stay until Friday...Oh it's been too long and I'm so very much looking forward to the next few days!
2) Another summer day, it's 18 degrees outside already and looking to be good all day so hopefully we'll get out for an evening walk with the lad before we settle him to bed.
3) I've just made him a jelly...it's been a very long time since I made a jelly...I don't know why but it's made me happy?
4) Contemplating a BBQ for supper this evening we'll see how the afternoon pans out and if the boy is not too tired we'll maybe do it.
5) Morning tea...not a coffee person early in the day but my morning cuppa is just the best!8 -
Hello.
oooft it’s been a hot day ( by Scottish standards) but quite pleasantly cool now.Woke at 4.10am ( I know I didn’t need to today but did!) but there was the most stunning sunrise so I sat up and watched it in all it’s splendifery!Out doggy walking by 5am and in the garden by 5.30am weeding and watering.
Had to pop to work for a bit .
Then in to supermarket for bits and bobs to make...
The loveliest of lunches for my friend and I. We sat in her garden and chatted whilst she was on her working from home lunch break. So warm but very overcast.
Home and thankfully the delivery I was waiting for came at start of allotted time.Chatted to sister. Then some workety work stuff. Emails and phone calls and texts. Sent a text to someone, just had her surname ( she wasn’t answering her phone) so she texted back ...is that ( my full name ) it’s such and such. Friend of a friend.Sat in garden with DD2 ...quite a drop in temperature from earlier so we both and blankets wrapped round us!14 -
1. The osp of osps is that today's backstop plans won't be necessary. &'s NZ friends have been badly let down+lied to 4 times by an individual who wanted/begged/promised to buy their van..... Their schedule is tight for NZ rtn - 5 years already! - with more tests/isolation/bank account closures etc and flight a fortnight today. &'s wonderful Fenboys today promised to feature/sell/store Phoebe if necessary. Then, a late call out of the blue from a young kiwi chap+Oz gf means Phoebe has new owners après tout. Such relief for &'s friends👏. & will keep being their 'go to' until they are safely away.
2. Many crazy Emporium Leckford Farm and other rtcs tonight, in quantity - chestnut mushrooms 25p, helda beans 35p, broccoli 9p, boxed 2's Bramley apple+cream turnovers 35p, LF-milled flour, 45p, loads more. Took extras, packed them in Moët & Chandon boxes - dichotomy pleasures😁😇🥰 Dropped off en route back.
3. Opening gate on rtn has meant intense wafts of honeysuckle and syringa this week. Gorgeous, heady, heavy scents all the way to back door.
4. Enjoyed ad hoc supper outside, not long over, as day declined. So much birdsong. So many littlies being fed by parents, perched on seat arms, wheelbarrow, feeders, grass. Blackbird's a regular, with dunnock, thrush, collared dove, jay and long-tailed tit today.
5. Close of day, with new coffee and book outdoors until too dark to read. 'Almost French', as is ancient bilingual kiwi &😉, with quiz progress msgs from friends in Spain.....2nd tonight. When &'s there, we always win🙂🙃.....when can any of this happen again?

Very special extra - someone returned an irreplaceable (very special) earring, lost forever thought &, during a day's mowing front, back and nextdoor, digging, weeding, soil-sieving, composting, planting.....but found some miles away in Church, miraculous considering circs.
Revel in the glorious heat🌞😋⭐- Amazing that Bank Holiday weather actually behaved, unlike the thousands crammed on beaches, even worse than last August's notorious pics.
Stay safe everyone.

Pleasures for today (Tuesday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Hens OK.
3) Garden starting to flower.
4) Took bigger son to see my parents.
5) Met my sister, brother in law and niece at the "beach" and paddled and boated in the river Teme.
6) Took bigger son to see his friend, picked him up later and popped to Sainsburys to buy a new saucepan (burned mine beyond repair the other day).
7) New next door's came round to say they had some of my post (from January) in piles of stuff the former neighbour had left lying around. They had opened one envelope to me as they had ripped it all open thinking it was all for them and were very embarassed. Not bothered about the opening but weird to think of it sitting round there for months.

Morning all from my bed
Pleasures for yesterday
1. More walking 🚶♂️ a bit easier. 'Only' 12 miles but v. little climbing
2. Walked past a military firing range so saw tank manoeuvres and firing. Not what you expect on a coast path
3. A lunchtime half in the pub
4. The cottage has no garden so spent half an hour in the evening sun sat on the front step
5. Friends turn to cook. They did salmon. 😋
Have a good day all.
