Morning all from my bed
Pleasures for yesterday
1. More walking 🚶♂️ 14.5 miles this time.
2. Got soaked but then the 🌞 came out and we mostly dried off. Except for my feet.
3. Friends bought dinky double dockers for lunch.
4. A welcome coffee shop just when we needed it
5. A pub meal. Outside on the terrace overlooking the sea. Lovely sea bream. 🐟
Last walking day today. We're filling in a gap.
Have a great day allI wanna be in the room where it happens11 -
Hello. Good morning. Currently raining but was mainly dry for the very quick doggy walk ( no fields this morning for him) feeling a bit meh after vaccine yesterday.Yesterday was sunny and bright but a tad breezy ( which suited me fine)
Felt rather hot and bothered and have tossed and turned overnight since my jag and joints ache today so shall see how I go. However I’ve factored that in and today there’s actually time to feel unwell from tomorrow morning there is no time allowed!I’ve already been out in the garden and pulled some weeds. It’s a battle of wills between me and mares tail weed. There’s always one ( or three) that I’ve missed and grow!DD2 bought the dog a paddling pool yesterday, one of the rigid kind as he’d just burst an inflatable one. Slightly bigger than I’d hoped and I’m now hmmm where on earth has that to go when it’s not in use!Popped into tyre garage as my warning light was on so they sorted that out for me very kindly and very freely. But did take 4 men and google to reset my car’s system.
washing line collapsed again but thankful washing was dry. Have just been out and retracted the line and will need to buy a new one. I usually just keep it up all the time. Prefer a line to a whirligig.
right do have a lovely day. I’m going to potter around slowly today I think.13 -
For yesterday,
First and most importantly a dog that was feeling better and managed a little food without any repercussions, good to see her usual spaniel bounce back.
Hot weather, normal summer routines in house, all windows open first thing to cool down and then curtains closed against the sunny side of the cottage during the day.
Into Uni City for haircut, hot hot hot but nice to be shorn and neck felt much cooler.
Pork souvlaki for tea with a big salad, followed by strawberries and ice-cream, our first of the summer.
Watched the footie then sat outside in the twilight, Mr Bat was out.9 -
1) Blissful nights sleep after a full and lovely day with the Grandpickle without many stops!
2) Another full day today but we went to an out or area craft and retail outlet and had coffee and then lunch...oh how I've missed it. Perfectly safe and outside and Grandplickle 1 found a pal to play on the slife etc. with and had a ball.
3) I don't have to cook tonight as we're finishing off the Bolognese I made the other day.
4) Called in to see DD1 and Grandpickle of the female persuasion on our way nack home and had a cuppa in the garden. very nice too.
5) DD2 coming to pick up Grandpickle 1 with Grandpickles 2 and 4 tomorrow so I get to see them all and if the weather's good we'll have lunch in the garden and they can run round as much as they want to.8 -
Pleasures for today (Thursday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Stuff still selling on Ebay.
3) Hens OK.
4) Starting to look into booking somewhere for a short break using smaller son's Family Fund voucher. It will be Manchester again. His choice - he wants to look at Man United shop (we've done the tour and there are no games on), Salford plus the Trafford Centre. A helpful lady on the phone.
5) My mum came so we could have another attempt at getting her a cheaper mobile phone contract.
6) Used bits up for tea then made Millie's cookies.
7) In bed ready to watch Mock the Week. Smaller son is singing in the shower and I hope he'll make me a cup of tea when he's finished in there!12 -
Late for me. Still chatting to friend on phone. She’s chatting and I’m listening ( honest!!)
felt a bit rotten this morning but better now. Arm has an egg sized lump and is sore.Went for a lovely lunch with DD2. Three courses! Stuffed. We didn’t need anything else! Had pate and lasagne and then a very unnecessary but nice cheesecake.Nice walk over the fields with the dog. Then into work for a bit. Then mums for a bit. Then up to boss for a bit to pick stuff up for tomorrow, a busy day ahead.Quick doggy walk, it’s turned into a nice evening. After a grotty start.13 -
1 Up and out, walked up to the hospital with DH for his bloods, didn’t hear a scream so assume it went better this time..
2 Then off to the in laws, I was a little worried maybe conversation wouldn’t flow as we have seen them loads, but no we seemed to gel well.
3 We filled the car up and did a tip run for them, in our allocated slot, their tip is far nicer than ours!
4 Spent a lot of time in the garden, putting the world to rights and generally enjoying the weather, company and wildlife, coupled with fish and chips for dinner.
5 Always nice to be home, thou we did have a rather strange encounter with a quad bike with no lights in the dark, thankfully we both saw it but were both a bit bemused about what to do about it.

Morning all.

2. 84 miles this week and 500 in all!! 370 left
3. Finished with beer in a nice pub overlooking the estuary
4. Met nephew, niece in law and their lovely kiddies for fish and chips on the beach. 2 year old is a delight and the baby was good as gold
5. Friends have left and the resulting peace is priceless
We're having a day off today! Have a good day allI wanna be in the room where it happens10 -
sadly not hot yesterday in Dundee due to haar
but let's think of 5
1) no meetings till 12 so had a bit of a lie-in
2) cooked a delicious vegetable korma for lunch while attending 'grand rounds', a student presentation on food and SDG (sustainable development goals)
3) 5pm drinks with the boss - we were both non-alcoholic as she had to give her dd a lift after and I thought I had a meeting at 7
4) email was confusing - meeting is actually Monday, so had a restful evening including reading a few more chapters of The Postscript Murders - one of the characters has a cat called Ozzy, short for Ozymandias - DS also has a cat Ozzy short for Ozymandias, must let him know
5) dd2 home, we watched another episode of DiPMrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025
25 for 25: 127 / 625
declutter: 173 / 2025
frogs eaten: 611 -
Good morning
Was sunny and now it's not!
S Sue - I hope things are settling down a bit and that you are feeling supported and able to take tiny steps forward
Bala - still sending hugs and hoping things are improving
We've been enjoying the lovely weather and spending lots of time in the garden.
I oiled the garden table, chairs and bench. You could hear them slurp it up. It's a very satisfying job.
DD's garden cushions still ongoing. I looked on YouTube and found a much easier way of doing boxed cushions. Note to self - look on YouTube first!
Enjoying Sewing Bee and Bake Off Professionals.
Slowly, slowly losing the lockdown weight. Not very dramatic at a pound every three weeks or so, but definitely in the right direction and only about 5 lbs to go now
Happy Friday everyone11
