Great photo Ampersand we have a couple of those bleeding hearts around.
1 Everything is being worked down here so long life food stocks and selling things has come to the fore as the “possibility of a move” has planted. On that note we have now registered and had a deposit temporarily taken for if we are successful. So many wishes/prayers being said.
2 Elections pft feels like a farse but done, in chatting to the chap there he said it’s a very low turnout so far… We also remembered to take our own pencils.
3 I have been applying for temp roles left right and centre, but nothing is moving, a pleasure trying I think?
4 I wrapped up Dhs token presents, and gathered bits for a cake, to check what I’ve got.
5 I have some things up for sale at small prices, and received a refund for something I returned.
6 Hoovered and mopped the whole house.
7 Soup and a hot roll was lunch, with leftovers for tea which is the last of the turkey bolognaise, with lentil pasta and veg.

Suffolk sue - I can't imagine what you are going through, it must be so difficult. Not just the grief, but possibly some relief, i think that anything you feel is valid. Know that we are here holding you up.
Lovely pictures Ampersand.
Nice to 'see' you , broomstick - it's been a while.
Pleasures for yesterday
1. decided to work my way through Mad Men, starting at season 3, as i'd seen the others a while ago. I could pretty much remember what had happened.
2. OH and i had a couple of chores to do, including unloading the logs we'd brought back from Wales - our log store is full to bursting. i love to see it.
3. Began the marking i'd been putting off.
4. left over curries for tea
5. OH and i watched a rather gritty, realistic film "Michael Inside". Brilliantly done though.
And today
1. Walked with a friend in the park.
2. Then came home to hang the washing out and down a quick cuppa
3. Then walked with another friend and little doggy in the bird reserve
4. A cup of tea at the above - she bought so even better.
5. Salmon for tea...
Have a lovely evening all.I wanna be in the room where it happens14 -
Hello, been a day of the most bizarre weather! Rain, hail and snow being the most frequent contenders!
Big bluer than blue sky then oooft as dark as dark can be but a stunning sunset just now.DD2 and I went up to polling station at 9am placed our votes.Popped in to supermarket and I got 3 lavenders. I’ve lost two plants over winter so these will be replacements. My very favourite plant. Can never have enough.
I went back to bed as I’d had such a rubbish sleep. Slept for 2 hours. Then went a big doggy walk.Walked round to mums then down to supermarket again and got some veggie sausages and RTC crusty bread and RTC salad leaves . Made a very delicious creamy pasta with veg and veggie sausage and with salad and crusty bread. Leftovers for tomorrow.A couple of big chatters on phone.Sue that in betweeny time of disbelief and realisation. The change in role. The change in priority. It might make you smile ( I hope it will) but my only goal at that point was to be able to function enough that I had clean knickers on every day and that I brushed my teeth twice a day. And I managed that and of course so much more but such early days for you. Take care xx15 -
Oh and PK fingers and toes crossed for you that you get your new house 🏡14

Thinking of Sue 😘
Good luck PK 😊
last few days’ pleasures:
Tuesday’s walk with friend was abandoned due to dire weather so we went to Dunelm and B&Q instead!
It still feels strange wandering around shops and I didn’t like it much before all this.
We went to a drive through McDonalds and then parked drivers’ window side by side in the pouring rain whilst we ate our lunch in our cars whilst trying to chat with cracked open windows - mad!
While we were eating starlings kept perching on our wing mirrors begging for food. They really are the most beautiful colours close up 😊
On Wednesday I met my sister and we went for a walk along a different part of the river and up by the lock and weir we found a coot’s nest with 7 tiny cooties (love that name) swimming nearby and a swan’s nest with 7 cygnets 🦢 (so we were told as we couldn’t get near enough to see).
On to today and as it was OHs day off we were going to walk up to the town and have brunch outside at the cafe, but a downpour put paid to that so we looked at bathroom stuff at Wickes instead 🤣
Sleep 💤 well everyone, fingers crossed I do too.

Pleasures for today (Thursday). A lot of driving!
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Hens OK.
3) Got some housework done. 2 loads of washing, cleaned the bathroom, tidied up.
4) Drove to floody city (15 miles) and went round the charity shops. Got a picture frame for bigger son (the glass cracked in one of his) and a floody city rugby club t shirt for my brother. Found a geocache while I was walking about - my 600th.
5) Another few miles to the other side of the city for a cup of tea in the cafe right next to my old sixth form college. Felt quite old as both my sons are now older than I was when I went there.
6) Round the corner to smaller son's college. He has now done 2 whole weeks at college with no days off. That is the first time in 4 years. They took him for a walk along the river side and out for a KFC! I can tell the English teacher has been chosen to get him talking. He just thinks she is very odd to be questioning him all the time.
7) Back home again and put the washing out then the computer shop phoned to say they had managed to mend it quicker than they had thought!
8) Then off to a town so nondescript that I can't think of an epithet, so I shall name it Bromsgrove. Picked up bigger son from work. Drove from there back to floody city to collect the computer. Went to Aldi. Drove home again.
9) The computer works!
10) Drove bigger son to his friend's and have to pick him up again at 11.
11) Aldi tasty burgers and brioche buns for tea.
12) Watched Taskmaster.
Photos are the PC working and a noisy magpie eating the cat food. I can't stand egg eating, baby bird killing magpies but I was quite surprised to see it within a metre of my front door.

Evening all
Many more virtual hugs Sue.
Thanks Ivyleaf.
&, I love Belfast sinks. Years ago a friend gave me a ton of healthy basil seedlings and I planted them all in the sink in our garden and the plants thrived - huge they were - we had a lot of basil that summer - and the green and white combo was gorgeous.
Five pleasures:
1. Waking up a bit later than planned, sitting up in bed, switching the laptop onto my workplace's site and getting started straight away. Still makes me smile when there are 0 miles to go to work and I can stay in my pyjamas 'til lunchtime.
2. It was chilly out but we had lots of sunshine and blue skies today - cheerful but bracing walk to go and vote.
3. Aubergine dip, cherry tomatoes and sourdough for lunch.
4. Lovely, long, funny, unexpected call with my best friend late afternoon.
5. My tutor agreed to my request for a two week extension to our planned call. Such a relief - just need to get the work done now.
Sweet dreams,
Bx

Great photos &
Wishing PK all the best in hoped for move.
For yesterday,
Mama blackbird busy on the back lawn, head to one side listening for worms.Out to horsey town, few chores and bits of shopping. Home and baked scones.
Trip out to deepest Fenland to see DSIL, the cathedral looked magnificent against a storm grey sky.
Lovely to see her and we hugged - both double vaccd and tbh we needed it, tough times for her. We drank tea, ate my scones with jam & clotted cream ( Cornish way for me ) and put the world to rights.
Everywhere is all of a sudden very green, good to see.14
