Purple kitten, I knew I wasn’t savvy but hadn’t quite realised I was stone ignorant. Hurrah for three wise men who were generosity patience & sagacity personified & who never once laughed at me.
Also hallelujah if I get the post, as I do not want to do it again.I have a whole new empathy for carrots ruthlessly peeled & then carved to fit the spec. I am not a vegetable!14 -
Hello DD, I have been round in circles like that many times. Sometimes wished I had an 'off' switch.

Continued good thoughts and strength sent to Sue
Welcome back DD - not me with Spooks, though it is with the others.
Pleasures for yesterday
1. Left our little holiday home earlier than we'd set ourselves - only cos we happened to be ready. We went to Aysgarth Falls and were the first in so had it to ourselves which was rather special.
2. Saw a red squirrel! I've only ever seen two before.
3. Hawes for coffee - a lovely lovely town / village though rather blighted by traffic
4. A drive across the moors and a last walk up them. Including a picnic with a view.
5. A loooong drive to ICT - including driving past our old house in Chester. Who shrunk it? 😂
6. Arriving at ICT, house is fine and there was a little food left in the coop, thank goodness.
Beautiful bright and sunny here in Welsh Wales - i've a wash on already. Have a lovely day all.I wanna be in the room where it happens14 -
Oh it’s good to see you posting DD!
Will keep all paws crossed for you DFV
A Happy Beltane to all.
For yesterday,
Feeling oh so much better and enjoyed my breakfast.
Changed the bed, despite the year moving on the nights are bbbrrr and we still have the brushed cotton sheets on.
Did some pole work with equine girlie, she was very good for her Mum.
Friday so fish for tea, lemon sole goujons with fries and salad. Capt S kindly shared his birthday choccie as well.
Oh Cambridge United, you only need one more point but you are making your long suffering fans wait, down to the wire now and nails bitten.

Good morning all,
Blessed Beltane to you Lainey
Thinking of you and yours SSue
Good to see you DD. Big hugs.
Pleasures for yesterday......
Finally making a start on sorting my house now photos have been done for the sale of my best friend's sister's house.
I tidied and cleaned the HT's bedroom. He usually does it himself but he's in the middle of exams so I thought I'd help out. He was very pleased when he saw it.
I managed a little bit of gardening in the sunshine. Now that next door's conifers aren't keeping my flower bed permanently in the shade it's time to sort out the moss that has grown and improve the quality of the mostly clay soil. I've also added a couple of plants.
Speaking of conifers, next door called round and took 16 bags of chopped up conifers that were in my garden to the tip. That has improved the view from the french windows no end.
Snorkers from the butchers for tea. Even the HT who is possibly the furthest thing from a foodie ever prefers them to those from the supermarket.
Take care all of you 😊

Hello
S Sue - hope the arrangements are going as well as possible. Please accept any help offered. X
D Doll - welcome back. I think it was me with Spooks. We rewatched them all from the beginning! There are lots. What we learned:-
* don't accept a job with MI5. The life expectancy of a spook is very shortI
* if someone offers witness protection and promises you'll be safe, run! Run like the wind ( not just in Spooks. In any police/ spy drama)
DfV - hope you get the job after all that effort ( as long as it's not with MI5)
VJ's mum - glad you liked God's Own County. Biased? Moi?
Last year's tomato seeds have not germinated well so I looked for some plants at the garden centre but it was a poor selection with no tumbling ones. Perhaps I'll have a year off tomato growing. I bought an aquilegia instead!
Finished my garden bunting in time for MayDay. Don't know why that matters, but it seemed an appropriate day for it.
Started a new journal. It's a sort of diary/ to do list/ memory jogger. I like starting a nice new book. It's always very neat at first but then....
Happy May Day everyone

Watched a documentary on Lennox Lewis yesterday. Was impressed. I love boxing, I just cannot watch it. Work that one out.....
Today had a programme on in the background that told the story of how the 3 Tenors came to be. Made me weepy, brings back so many memories. I had to research (briefly) the conductor Mehta. A highly accomplished man. Incredible really....
Lawn seen to this morning. Stuff from garden sorted for refuse center. A good feeling getting something done. We are aiming for Tuesday as am sure there will be queues this weekend.
Really missing my crows. Daft, I know.
Love to all

Today's pleasures...
It's Beltane, first of May, when we celebrate the life and energy of the sun getting stronger and the abundance of nature. I always feel uplifted by this.
Tealights lit around the house, a daily ritual even more meaningful at Beltane.
Laughing at dog in the park. She found a huge stick twice as long as her, and had to almost trot sideways to drag it along. She decided in the end not to bring it home with her, sensible girl. As I said to her, "You've got lots of nice sticks at home already!"
Cool but sunny enough to get two big washloads out on the line, dried, and back in again.
Son sorting out his coats, about to chuck out a short black zip up jacket. I adopted it and chucked it in the dryer on the warm air programme to freshen it up. It will look good when I wear it with jeans.
Practising Choir songs. New term starts next week, four fab new songs coming up, can't wait.
Listening to the radio, son's favourite station, Berliner Rundfunk. Good contemporary music.
