Hello all,
I've been missing due to conifers. Next door's conifers haven't been trimmed for 5 years or so. They have been done this week. It's enough pleasure for the entire week as my garden looks so much lighter. It's also full of conifer cuttngs as is theirs. I've been very busy chopping up the bits in my garden and bagging them ready for Mr Next Door to take to the tip. I'm two conifer mountains down now wth one more to go.
In other news, my niece is in labour.
Take care all of you10 -

4. DS arrived safe and sound
5. Salmon for tea - I lurve salmon
and today
1. Heating finally sorted properly 🙏
2. Train to the next resort along with DS and a walk back along the beach
3. Cracked on with my paper.
4. More salmon for tea.
5. More sunshine.
Have a great rest of evening allI wanna be in the room where it happens8 -
Ampersand - I do feel for you with the antisocial behaviour. It is draining and constant worry. At least rugby is back up and starting at community level now. It's needed for life to become less restrictive.
1. Work happened - have some eggs to a couple of the new ones as they had less than £5 each to last them to next Friday. They thought that they had enough food to last and were surprised to receive them.
2. The car park at work is starting to look good. The blossom on the trees is coming out and in the sun. They wanted to cut all the trees and shrubs down a couple of years ago and tarmac it all but decided against it.
3. DS1 and girlfriend had a good day. It was her birthday and they had lunch out. The weather was good and they enjoyed themselves. They have been going out since September so have spent more time in lockdown/ tier 4 restrictions than in normal life.
4. Watered the plants in the garden. I enjoy this as gives me a chance to have a good look at the garden and notice small things.
5. Watched Masterchef and The great British sewing bee. Enjoyed them both and pleased with the winner of Masterchef.9 -
Good morning all,
Yesterday's pleasure arrived at 8:20 pm and 8 lbs 4oz. His name is Tighe (Irish name pronounced Tie for the first bit then g as in the start of gum so Tieg). Mummy and baby both well and daddy very happy and pleased. That's all five of mine for yesterday.
Take care all of you10 -
Thinking of SSue
Missing tales from north of the border DD
For yesterday,
Waking up to sunshine, makes such a difference.
Lovely thank you from niece for baby bits.
At last, a trip into Uni City for haircut, did a happy dance as I walked into salon which made my hairdresser laugh. Walking through the busy shopping area was a tad overwhelming though, so long since I have been anywhere near so many people.
Also treated myself to some new nail varnish for sandal wearing summer tootsies.
A restorative cuppa and biscuit after driving home through the city traffic, my clutch leg ached, just not used to it anymore!

Good evening
Great news Auntie Cranky. A new baby to dote on.
Another lovely 🌞 day here.
Walked to the village this morning for my prescription, admiring lovely springtime gardens on the way.
This afternoon we had to go to the hospital for DH to have a follow up to his operation of last year. All was very well organised and I was allowed in with him, which was good. It was actually the hospital in the next town but the parking is loads better than the local one ,and it's free! Another minor op may be necessary so back in 3 months but a reassuring visit and the NHS at its best.
Tea was fish finger sandwich and chips. A treat after our medical trip.
Yesterday I finished the crossword ( only happens about once a month) . Today I can't do a single clue!
Happy evening everyone

Ooh I shall type quickly as I’ve not much battery left! It’s been a lovely day here , still jumper weather though the sun was shining, yesterday was lovely too after the fog burned off.
Hurrah! Garden bin finally emptied. I can cut the grass again tomorrow.
Been in early at work yesterday and today ( and tomorrow and the next day and the next)
Went to supermarket in town today. Walked down to M&S ( which meant walking back up lugging bags all to save £1 on car parking! Got some lovely plants ( what I went to that supermarket for) including two tall bottle brush plants which I’ve never seen here. Always thought of them as Australian.Bedding changed and yes done before bedtime! Though I’m aiming for an early night tonight. Friend popped over last night so much chatting, she finally took away some old wood I had for her fire pit.
Chat with the boyo last night. He’s alright.12 -
For yesterday
1 Up early ish, and a couple of cups of teas to try and kick start me.
2 No shopping and we do need it, but I am using up what we have and rummaging in freezers so today out of the stocks is ham, something I hope is mince and some chops. And joyfully found a couple of chicken and cheese pasties to cook up for lunch. Its proving entertaining when we are also out of sauces we would use all of the time, but that is also good as it forces some change. I have just caved and arranged a Mr T delivery for tomorrow as I am liable to start snacking so fruit and salad added.
3 Our little Humbug is very happy and wandering playing in the garden, his teeth don’t appear to be getting him down, only 2 days to go till his surgery. He is snoring behind the sofa at the moment.
4 A few more bit and pieces cleared, 2 pairs of unworn literally as new boots but from many years ago. I have tried to sell but to no avail, I held onto them as they seem to good not to sell abut they are literal clutter. So they are de cluttered to a CS bag. And a few bits of shredding.
5 I did 2 hours training the brain matter is starting to click again.
For today
1 I started to do some proper writing dragging together ideas noted down left right and centre. Literally doing what I want to do at last.
2 Surprise freezer offering was mince thankfully, so I cooked up a big chilli and always have fun packing it out with lots of healthy things, servied with brown rice, and cheesey tortilla crisps and I grated up a little bit of mature cheese for topping. Lovely.
3 We did a bit of deep cleaning, as with the animals it needs to be kept on top of.
4 My new sandals arrived, wow they are a direct replacement and made me realise just how done in the others are worn right down, new ones are so comfortable.
5 Candles are lit, books to hand.

Pleasures for Thursday:
OH day off as he is now working Summer pattern which means working Sundays
So we went for a walk to the Country Park (busman’s Holiday for him as he works on the Park)
Firstly to the White Water Rafting Centre, where there was no white water rafting! But we had a sandwich and a cuppa
Then along the canal to the lock and back along the lake, across the railway and home. It was pleasant in the sun ☀️ but chilly 🥶 out of it.
Friend later informed that we had missed the excitement of a white stork being spotted very near to where we had been walking ☹️
Saw my red kite soaring above on the way home 😊
Easy dinner of trout fillet for me and fish fingers for him.
Night all 💤11 -
Cranky - that's wonderful news.
1. Worked at different site - much better day. People so much happier and relaxed.
2. Free lunch and made use of 50p Costa coffee twice.
3. Cupboard in hall half built should be finished today.
4. Had Spanish omelette for tea and was very tasty.
5. Reading my book.9
