5 OS pleasures in your day today - part 3

Morning everyone
I haven’t posted for a few days as I’ve not been feeling too good so I haven’t had any pleasures to post!
I think it’s been a combination of hayfever and a cold. I sent of for the new free pack of lateral flow tests and thankfully the one I did yesterday was negative!
Friday night’s takeaway was from a local Cypriot restaurant using an Uber offer. It was a very tasty stifado, rice and Greek potatoes 😋
OH off to work at the Country Park at the crack of dawn so should be home early today.
The sun is shining and I have a click and collect to pick up from Tosco this morning so will summon the energy to pick that up and sort out something nice for dinner 🥘
Have a super Sunday all 😊

Hope you feel better soon Paulie.
For yesterday,
Bit of a lie-in, my sleep has been very poor of late so it was good to have a decent night.
The Postie came with a book, sent by my friend that I had met earlier in the week, bless her.
Over to the yard with a bag of chaff for my lass and popped out to the field with a couple of carrots to see her, blooming freezing out there but she was snug as a bug in her rug.
Lazy afternoon, listening to football and drinking tea. No win this week but we are still in auto promotion spot.
Walk with small dog then home to an easy tea of snorkers with leftover veggies.9 -
1. Quick chat with friend on the phone. We have up as she kept being interrupted by unexpected workmen turning up!
2. DS1 came to collect his girlfriend birthday present and took a couple more bits of stuff home with him. He was chatty and ok.
3/ DS2 arrived to collect his eBay parcels which are still being delivered here. Perhaps so I go to the post office rather than him. He came into the house to raid the fridge !
4. Went to a local nursery with DH and a couple of plants were purchased. They sell different shrubs to most nurserys and mainly grown their own plants.
5. Watched women's 6 nation matches.

Pleasures for yesterday....
Spent most of the day alone as son was out, so celebrated the anniversary of my natal day by turning the day's routine totally out of synch. Change it round, do things differently for a change.
Out early, trip to city centre. Hardly anyone around, quiet and relaxing.
Eating breakfast in market square in full sunshine. Bacon roll, white chocolate and raspberry muffin, black coffee.
Few shops open, but window shopping revealed nice things that I might treat myself to one day.
Boots open, so bought dry eye spray, arnica cream, Clarins Beauty Flash Balm and, a long standing favourite cologne, Eau Dynamisante. It was the day to treat myself.
Home, dog walk in park. She found a "sticky thing", my name for any stick she finds. In her case it's usually half a tree branch she finds on the ground. To see her trotting along proudly, carrying a branch twice her size is always a pleasure.
Phone calls and texts from family. Dad and Stepmum have now had their second jabs. Eldest brother and sis in law having theirs soon. We talked about having a gathering of the clans later in the year.
Listening to the radio. The upside of Friday's sad news was that BBC radio, out of respect, have just been playing back to back good music with 75% less inane wittering.
Practising Choir songs, including a couple of belters, at full volume because there was only me at home, and the animals don't care.
A couple of tough games of crib with the computer, computer won first one, I won the second. Keeps the old brain active.
Watering plants in the garden, then a brief moment sitting in the sunshine listening to the birds singing.
Instead of buying the traditional celebratory takeaway, I went to the local Co-op and bought curry and rice, pakoras, bhajis, naans and a small posh cake, enough for two people, for less than £11. All I had to do was stick stuff in the oven or microwave.
Son showed up whilst I was eating, very apologetic for leaving me alone all day. It's ok, he's a young man and he has a life. Yesterday for me was a day off from normal routine, I did what I wanted to, when I wanted to.
Reading my Kindle in bed, Classic FM on, animals all present, thankful for what I have in my life.
One life - your life - live it!11 -
Happy belated Birthday Nargle 🎁🎈 I'm a fan of Eau Dynamisante too 😊
Pleasures for yesterday....
Work was ok which was just as well as the HT was awake in the night. I always wake up when I hear him so I was awake too. Nothing wrong, just awake so tea and toast at 5am.
A walk in the sunshine with looked after person. The tide was high so there were lots of ships coming and going on the river. It's good to see it still busy.
Took looked after person home and his mum gave me a bag of single bottles of pop from their cafe so I dropped it off to another friend for friend's grandchildren. My philosophy is "say yes to free stuff then figure out where it's best placed afterwards". Friend was very pleased with the loot.
Home for dinner. It was a ready meal curry which was perfect for how tired I was by then. I prefer to make my own usually but I didn't have time because of work and curry really needs to be made with the windows open or (preferred) when the HT is at school and with windows open or there's complaints.
The final pleasure was my comfy bed. There's nothing like your own bed is there? No wonder Prince Philip wanted to go home to his after being in hospital. Regardless of how people feel about the monarchy, he did a grand job and I feel for the Queen.
Take care all of you
Biggest hugs SSue Even if you can't see us we're walking the walk and wating the wait with you 🧡11 -
Happy belateds Nargle. I too love Eau Dynamisante. Especially in spring and summer. Haven't bought perfume for donkeys years but yesterday found a smidgen of another favourite....Diorella. Transported me to uplifted feelings.

Good morning
Bright and sunny but very cold still.
Happy birthday Nargle. It sounds as if you had a good day. I'd forgotten Eau D! I used to love it
Paulie. I hope you feel brighter soon. It seems to be a bad year for hay fever already.
Had the bright idea to wash some of the plastic toys ready for baby GD to play with. They were all from Early Learning Centre (castle, fairground, people etc) . I dunked them happily in a sink full of water and then realised that 2 of them have batteries so they make a noise! Tried drying with a hairdryer but I think maybe they're done for! Still fine to play with, just quietly!
DS had no ill effects from vaccine. Poor DD felt ill all night but said she was ok by morning. Just feeling tired and fragile now.
Might do a bit more toy sorting, but perhaps more carefully! And need to water the houseplants too. A bitting and bobbing sort of day.
Happy 🌞 Sunday everyone

1. 2nd jab and absolutely no effects - same as first one.
2. London friend who tested positive, confirmed, is responding to antibiotics and best bullying re: hydration, rest, patience and staying warm.
3. Staying warm right now with newly refilled hwb. Bitterly cold today.
4. Thinking back over memories and sights of ERII and HRH during NZ childhood, from early 50s - Trentham races, aboard the Britannia in Napier, twice with my grandparents - different occasions+reasons, in McLean Park. Appalled by many vile, rude, ignorant, inaccurate comments elsewhere. Opinion of monarchy is irrelevant. They gained much by their response to the Tangiwai disaster, much fuller than given here. My grandfather had reason to know.

Photo and good writing in the Aftermath section.
5.
Very busy river since our Light Blues' fabuloso double victory a week ago🚣♀️🚣♂️ . 14 crews and scullers - 5 to spot here - were working hard during an hour when & finished Food Hub in Town of Gown last Wednesday. Took a switch off moment. Not so the 8s coach on his bike!
Achilles tendon coming right with much Deep Heat after a fortnight's purgatory.
