5 OS pleasures in your day today - part 3

1. A walk with DH. It essential and had a few flakes of snow. I felt better after it.
2. Welsh rarebit for lunch made with stilton. It was very tasty.
3. Text conversations with various people. It was good catching up with news. No idea when we will be able to see them.
4. Started the Christmas cake. It was goid. We rarely start it much before new year.
5. Enjoying the Christmas records they will come down today or tomorrow.

House Elf..........used to 'do' a vintage/antique fair once a month and got friendly with the ladies that ran the stall for the greyhound charity.  At the end of the day they would bring their dogs in.  Most calm docile dogs I have ever come across.  I did consider adopting but they always look fragile to me.  With my body type (blob, lump, heavy  ) I was always afraid I would break them.  Hence the 2 staffies !

Meant to also say.......pink hair.........you go girl !

Morning all - happy to join in a group hug.

Good luck for the vaccine Frith's Mum and Dad - i dreamed last night that i'd had my first dose.  Weird and wishful thinking as i fear mine is a way off.  DD is still unwell and we are now doubting her negative test.  If no improvement today may seek to get another.
Pleasures for yesterday

1. No hangover - i think i went the whole year with no hangover.  Hopefully this is due to less drinking rather than getting more hardened
2. More marking ticked off  - including the best assignment i've read for many a long while
3. A long walk with OH - unexciting path but we saw no-one in the fields.  We had parked outside a village church which was open so went in as it got dusk.  Very peaceful
4. Dr Who
5. Tea from the freezer plus apple and blackberry crumble.  I like to make a few in the winter to remind me of summer.

Thank you Mr Piano and thank you DD for those clips. I really enjoyed them. My gran's family came from Iona with a stop off in Glasgow where my great grandfather worked in the docks. I went to Edinburgh on a trip with my late gran and I have plans to go again with my sister once we can travel freely again.

The HT has survived and is feeling better but not much in the way of pleasures yesterday sorry. I'll save them up. I'm sure I'll find some extra along the way.

Oh, these could have happened ...

DD all geared up for the new dawn again! Same time last year! Could end up in tiers! Oh well, remember being at a match against Burton with FGR, and we were 2-1 up, and they equalised in the final minute, only for us to win from the kick off, terrace friend and me went disco! We both said! 'Don't ever take me to another football match!'

Watched Four Christmases last nite on the amazing things! Very good. BoPsie was going bin there as well! Wobbleades and cheeses weres consumed! two much wobbleade!

It as started, wes bin to the wickes! Got the bits inn to tart up the Palais of BoP! New shower hose and head, new new shampoo holder, I use 6 inn 1 shower gel, does me nails as well! Bog role holder for one of our three rooms! I says we lives in a Palais! BoPsie has eyes, and gets the big hand cleanser as well! Looked at the new toys as well, butt mes thirty year old drill and sander will be fine!

Has me usual, well new brakefest this day, best back, snorker, unchopped mushrooms and poached egg on toast! I has no toms nowadays and no orange! very good, had apple juice and tea!

Writes mes big sis card, she hit the sixty last year, hence big sis! Will post soon!

Hello. Day number two of this new year, rubbishy sleep full of the weirdest of dreams ...however it was nice to ‘see’ my lovely granny and my dad! 

We are still very icy here. Our snow turned to ice. It was a top of 1o at lunchtime though a beautiful blue sky.

Been painting and sorting most of day. Boy still had some stuff so we called him and some to stay and some to go...vultures ( my girls) swooped on the pickings! The remainder in a bag for charity.
Painted his bookcase that he’s had since a baby. So it’s now white. Took three blooming coats! 

A friend picking up another piece of furniture tomorrow. 

Girls had sorted through wardrobes so we all have a bags worth to go out.
Making macaroni for tea. DD1 favourite and final dinner for this holiday. 

My bedroom is finally a bit tidier. Just need to hoover then it’s all done.

Brr.   A cold day. A proper snow shower at lunch time, but it didn't last long and has nearly all gone now.

Took down all the decorations except the tree, and dusted all the areas I've not been able to get at for a fortnight.

Made microwave jam sponge in a mug for tea, mainly so that I could use some nearly out of date milk in custard.  I used to do sponge in a mug all the time when the children were small and then forgot all about it for years.

Finished a Hercule Poirot book.   Something else I haven't done for years ( read Agatha Christie, I mean.  I often finish a book!)

1. tidied and cleaned the office and kitchen
2. took down the christmas decs and tidied and cleaned the lounge
3. Went to Aldi to stock up on fresh foods - i am struggling to fathom how much food we get through
4. OH is cooking a new recipe with NO CHILLI for once..
5. Banked - not done much today worth mentioning
