Just watched Sky Portrait Artist of The Year. The sitter was Carlos Acosta. His beauty in movement makes me want to weep. A definite pleasure.

1. Saw 3 patients at work. Probably the last in a while as hospital is now closed to out patients appointments as of this morning.
2. Had a lovely walk at lunchtime. I needed fresh air.
3. Dropped paracetamol to DS1. He seems ok but tired and chest hurts from coughing.
4. Watched Christmas film this evening
5. Decorated the Christmas tree.11 -
Where there’s a will there is a way, hello Mr BOP.
For yesterday,
Standing on the back doorstep with my first cup of tea and enjoying the sunrise.
Into horsey town and did some essential food shopping, anyone else realise that we are looking people in the eyes more to see if they are smiling behind their masks.
Then off to Uni city for a much needed and anticipated haircut, it grows so thick and head felt very light when I come out.
Pesto Strata with roasted veg for tea.
Best bit is last bit, my middle niece is expecting so I’m going to be a great aunt, lovely chat with her and then with her M&D, smashing news and much needed.

Lainey, Congratulations to you and family. Thrilling news.
And yes, yesterday had 2 conversations with people and I know this would be unlikely to happen without the masks. One was with a strapping young man and the conversation was humourous and philosophical in turns. I know we both appreciated the contact by the way we said goodbye. The other was with a man that I wave and smile at all the time. He walks his friends Jack Russell. Didn't realise until we spoke that he has the yummiest swoon inducing Irish accent.
Waiting patiently in queues has it's advantages.

Well, hello AB. Welcome aboard !
VL I hope DS soon feels better. It's good you can pop round with supplies and see for yourself how he is.
Another lovely sunny day
Doing lots of bitsa jobs - cleaning the rebate( if that's the right term) of the front door, for example. I was almost ashamed to open it, though the only people who come to the door are delivery men, and they're in too much of a rush to worry about our door frame.
Made an apple crumble. No blackberries left, so just apples this time. It's my favourite pud. Tablet would prefer me to spell apple with a capital A. No i-products were harmed in the making of this crumble.
And now, a rest and catch up of Christmas Chronicles. Already dreading getting to the end of it. I shall be asking for recommendations for something to fill the gap
Happy sunset everyone

A bit of a manic few minutes after a late start.
1 Ran a few errands, the courier couldn’t accept a parcel as it had “run out of receipts”! Not handy, then pharmacy, over to doc’s for an injection, have to admit the arm is achy now.
2 We went to lidl and picked up some luxury bits like a rhubarb and custard torte, and some party food and happily used up the £10 off voucher and the lidl card offer.
3 Portioned up some sausages, bacon and cheese for the freezer.
4 Dinner was a chop with minted new pots and veg.
5 About to finish a wonderful book.

1) great session this morning with mentimeter. Christmas theme, with a couple of new style questions I hadn't seen before
2) a colleague came round for a cuppa. in the front garden cos we're not allowed in each others' houses but so nice to see him.
3) lovely catch-up, sadly online this time, with another colleague. she walks her dogs same place as i often go so we're going to meet up over the christmas break some time
4) yummy kedgeree for supper - made 2 portions so tomorrow's supper also made. children fended for selves
5) christmas quiz with friends. goodness the questions were hard!
and now to finish writing christmas cards then go post them. i haven't been out yet today for a walk (meetings bah humbug) so have only managed 4691 steps so far. And yes i did get up to do the needed 12 yesterday to hit 10k.

For yesterday,
Lovely catch up with my other DSIL, chatting about family news.
A parcel arrived with present for beloved and included a surprise bar of Divine chocolate, perks of ordering from small, independent retailer.
My pony and her behaviour which was ahem challenging today, four times she reared and charged off during our lunge sessions, four times I brought her back and just started again, fifth time she was brilliant. Sometimes it’s like dealing with a stroppy, half a ton teenager.
Picked up some carrots & parsnips from the farm stall, we had them roasted with maple syrup for tea.
We found an old episode of The Repair Shop on the planner and watched that, gentle easy viewing with no drama.
