Evening all - this is all a bit of a (non-funny) joke isn't it?
Anyhoo pleasures, as always, must be found
1. Yesterday was my birthday - rather quieter than it might have been - and the weather didn't help - but i was pampered beginning with a bubbly bath and a film
2. Lovely pressies - a couple of fabulous surprises
3. Lovely food - smoked salmon for lunch and a steak tea
4. family film night - my birthday, my choice- 'Love, Actually'
And today
1. Better weather - OH and i did an 8 mile walk
2. Nice lunch in a church yard as it had a bench in the sunshine
3. A trip to Allidee - have everything we need for xmas except the meat order. though i expect it'll be added to
4. Washing (hung out by DS so was pegged up every which way) nearly dried on the line
5. Spag bol for tea - was nom.

I’m so stressed! DD1 supposed to be travelling home tomorrow . Son saying he’s now not coming on Christmas Day because of travel restrictions and I’ve just been sobbing at it all. Bloody Covid! And of course I understand why restrictions are put in place but to do so with no notice is crap.Anyway workety work early start and alarm set for tomorrow at silly o’clock. One more week of silly o’clocks.
Nice walks in between waiting on parcels...pffft if I get to give them to whom they’re intended for.
Another evening as Mrs Clause.Getting used to darker hair! Ooooft when I look in a mirror! My dog. He just snuggled in more when I was crying.Had an afternoon snooze.13 -

Very belated Happy Birthday VJ'S mum
Well, it's going to be hard to find pleasures for the next few days but ....
Yesterday ( pre announcement)
Met DD in park, as per new Saturday routine. We have been very lucky Not rained off once in 6 weeks. The ground is getting muddier, and DD brings carrier bags for us to sit on as the benches are very damp but it's still good to catch up once a week in person.
DH framed my collage. It's made up of Christmas cards/ decorations/ pictures DD and DS did in infant/junior school, so all are 25 to 35 years old. They have just sat in a box with the Christmas things but this year I finally thought what to do with them. I'm delighted with the result .And it's hanging in pride of place near the tree.
And one post-announcement pleasure. Have to watch Strictly on catch up to whizz through the drivel. But pleased with the winner 🏆
I hate the new restrictions, and can't think of a positive spin. Sorry.
Hope Sunday helps us all find ways through this.

Flat is the right word DD so yes to finding pleasures.
For yesterday,
My usual Saturday lie-in followed by boiled egg with marmite soldiers.
Down to the nursery in the village and picked up some Holly wreaths for the family graves, everything was already on special offer.
We have decided against a tree this year but the Yule log was fetched in from the shed and placed on the hearth ready for us to bring in the green today and decorate it. My Dad made the log for me years ago, out of a beautiful piece of beech with three drilled holes for candles and I’ve never felt able to burn it in the traditional way.
Over to see my girlie, apparently she had been naughty coming in and got away from the girl leading her, breaking her halter in the process. She’s obviously fed up with these short dark days as well.
Watched Strictly and my favourite won.

1. Worked and the money will be useful in January.
2.. Dropped some fruit and veg into DS1 and spoke to him from about 4m away.
3. Home to find a bag of presents by the door.
4. My favourite also won on strictly.
5. My neighbour is feeling ok. She wasn't well on Friday.
New restrictions not good. Tier 4 here.14
