Run!
Just BoP inn about, still BoP is barred? I thought it would be seven days! Butt I must have gotten too much ons abouts the popcorn! Not happy with the new profile, so I think I will ditch that one. So suggestions please!
I hear there is talk that xmas is cancelled. I was supposed to be home in Oct 90 and then Desert Shield started! Did not even get home for the cold turkey that time! All you were asked to do was keep it simple!
Keep Safe all!

I think everyone is feeling disappointed/crushed. But we will get through this.
On this site there is a tremendous amount of support and encouragement, especially on days when you are feeling lonely. I have been thrilled with receiving PM's or being included/spoken to in a post. It HAS made a difference this year.
There is great advice, lots of wonderful ideas, lots and lots of sharing. Most people love it when others reach out because most people have really lovely hearts.
And finally, there is great humour. Mine ! ............ tee-hee............
(Sorry, couldn't help myself. I'll get me coat !)

Blinking RL. Keeps happening. I would go through you all but I've done a 4 post catch-up once this year. Twice would be embarrassing.OS Pleasures recentlyBack from a run over to see mother-in-law - good to see her, tough not to hug & I fled when she pointed out the little angel. I’m sure it’s meant as comfort, & I hope it’s only for Christmas.Tree both up & decorated and the vehement view (that 3 trunks of decorations we Transparently do not use can go) has some unwilling agreement from me. Just want to find the star someone crayoned & other family made things to bring back into use before we dump the trunks with a charity shop!To my bemused delight the brass bolt action biro has arrived already! It’s solid & writes smoothly & is comfortably heavy. The pen is rarely mightier than the sword but this could definitely be jabbed into whomever disrupts my focus on the crossword.I was wondering how to spell out that this dog decision is a big one & hurrah there’s an MSE article! So right to wait til a disorganised nation of dogs needs a new home....Sun has set again, the cold and dark are wrapped round me again & a colleague’s very short history of Christmas ends on “bring in the light!”. Pondering sundry lanterns, illuminated decorations etc and just spending the 24th setting fire to, or switching batteries round for, things.Making tissue flowers to add further silliness to a farewell afternoon tea on zoom where I may be trying to wear a picture hat as I sip tea from the swankiest teacup & saucer I can find. Certainly be the pinkest & girliest I’ve been this year! [Daftest, unquestionably.]It’s very hard to wave away colleagues via Zoom, but we made it yet more memorable with the senior joe’s quiz being “a bit naughty” - and we could (All!) see the rude answers several beats before the “right” one. It went on for 3 & a half hours!Several-doors-down neighbour trying to walk dog past schoolboy awaiting bus. Dog absolutely certain boy smells edible, but unwillingly cooperating with walk. Handsome glossy coal black animal, with lovely pointy ears and transparent expressions!Aw, last Scout meeting of the year & we did a 12 days of Christmas scavenge. Happy uproar but the last “sing through” was a touching effort where the only-a-Cub-a-month-ago Scout sang & held things but was passed them by his mum & unloaded by his little sister. Adorable, & very funny! The group leader pulled a doozy - Everyone had an email about the March camp now on 31/12/20 (this was planned for March, rescheduled to September & is now going to happen in 2021) but the computer system with scout accounts couldn’t cope - there were several ‘voices off’ with a lovely mix of puzzlement, relief & resignation....Husband treated himself to a snazzy water bottle & my attempts to buy a cover for it (from UK, Italy & Germany) have all gone pear-shaped. So he chose a nifty “amazon fashion” item instead - still cordura and still expensive But In Stock!Whoever’s setting the Christmas TV has a dry sense of humour - "Wreck It Ralph" followed by "Coronavirus Update"...Oh sheesh, 4 o’clock, which was actually 4:10 (can the man even get on TV on time?) Not like we had an exotic Christmas planned but eep, much of my family rather more locked down than they had planned. Himself is saying if it gets nasty up here, let’s go into seclusion for a fortnight & I’m thinking my Brexit preps would be totalled.Son used masking tape to cut a wedge in his hair - then squawked like a chicken removing the tape, got the photo he wanted & trimmed it all smooth.Awww Baby Yoda & eating things with tentacles... (Not seen The Newsworthy Episode yet)"English comedian, actor and musician" wins Strictly! Husband watches “like an anthropologist” whereas I am just delighted & this is the deranged wonderful comedian musician (& now dancer) I so enjoy! Hurrah YouTube as I catch up on the dances if not the views from the judges. The lad's computer refuses to speak to me, keeping his secrets longer. [Have to say, I almost respect it for that, but it's a computer.] Husband has bought me Another (modest) computer for Christmas so I can Zoom with my family & Scouts on a Big Screen! Even though this means they Will All be expected to come & smile-&-wave at relatives online on Christmas Day.Right, back to the pile of boxes of things I have been acquiring for family But Not Yet Sent (whoops!) and get the courier chits printed. Heath strength love & courage to all as have need, and may your festive plans still bring joy.13

Pleasures this weekend.....
At work yesterday, short staffed and busy beyond busy but I got through it with amazing teamwork amongst colleagues.
Watching Strictly on catch up. Four deserving finalists, amazing music and dancing and the best possible result. The stunned look on the faces of the winning couple, the obvious love and delight of the rest of the contestants and the home crowd, an uplifting end to a really good season.
Today, walking the dog and seeing the most amazing rainbow arching across the sky. Not so amazing....dog had a rolling session. I couldn't see anything nasty on her fur but Ye Gods! Did she smell funky!
Having a son who was happy to put said funky dog in the shower.
Lunch of salmon en croute followed by this year's Rumtopf. Rocket fuel, not for the faint hearted.
Switching on all the Christmas lights in the house. Christmas at Chateau Nargle starts here.
A luscious batch of glacé cherry flapjacks drizzled with dark chocolate on the cooling tray.
Hearing my choir's Christmas charity single played on Michael Ball's radio 2 show this lunchtime, and feeling proud that my voice is one of the 4,550 on that single.
Knowing I can safely avoid all supermarkets between now and Crimbo because all the last minute stuff I want can be purchased at either of the two village shops. One life - your life - live it!15 -

1) bought a friend's charity cd - he did a charity Christmas cassette 33 years ago as head chorister and has now, with help from a recording studio, added tenor. Beautiful

3) then off to the botanics with dd2 to meet gbf for lunch - our last for a while as all hospitality will shut boxing day
4) met up with a couple of friends i haven't seen for a while - always a nice surprise
5) lovely family tea of french bread, dips and crudité - very lucky to have dd2 and ds here with me.
And now a little Christmas present from the Scottish Chamber Orchestra
