I know, always concerning when one of our own goes awol. early posting tonight cos i am tired, have a church meeting and then want to go to bed
1) left over risotto for breakfast and lunch, and guess what i've got for tea - last portion and was lish
2) had a meeting cancelled so walked down to postoffice with DD2 to post dad's birthday present
3) bought more 2nd class stamps as had lost ones i bought. of course on return home found them, but since postage going up january, was actually a good mse thing to do
4) lunch time, determined to get my steps up, walked half way to nature reserve with dd2 - she was meeting a friend there, i had to scurry back for a meeting
5) then last meeting of the day finished 3:40, still light so walked up balgay with the boys, so they have been well exercised today. And here's a funny story from one of my colleagues - she and her husband are both doctors.'This was mental. Chris had a full crown of thorns and I was full angel. We drove past a crash and tried to find somewhere to turn. Meanwhile we panickingly debated whether jesus and an angel turning up at a crash might cause more of a scene than the crash itself. #lifelesson234 don't drive to a fancy dress party in a costume you are not willing to Dr in!!'MrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

1 We spoke with the vet, he’s increased the dose a lot, hoping we see improvements by Friday.
2. All birdfeeders refilled and they were down as soon as it was done.
3 I cleared out and cleaned out the fridge, dull but nice it’s done.
4 We’ve decided to use the spare freezer for some stock of just in case things.
5 A pasta bake for dinner, using up veg from earlier fridge tidy out, a sad courgette and pepper.
Our grocery order has had to cancel on us, it offered an alternative but it’s no use to use as we are already out of bits so we will have to mask up and ponder out tomorrow.

Hello. Santa’s just been past...on a float!Frith is okay, I’m sure she won’t mind me saying. We keep in touch. No idea about Pirate Pete though!Busy day and not got half of what I wanted to get done done.No work this morning. Saved that for this evening. And alarm set for early tomorrow.Went to get a new exhaust for the car. And it cost as much as I had in my purse! Was going to go to bank but gave it to garage instead. Ooooh can you hear that said I to DD2. No. Good! What a horrendous noise it was making before.
Walked downhill into town whilst car was being worked on ( which of course meant walking back up the hill with bags and bags! Went to M&S... me to DD2 No you don’t need that. I do. You don’t. I do. No you don’t ( already bought for Christmas) Then got Christmas jammies half price for the girls. Some fat balls for the birds. Some food hamper bits and pieces for my boyo. Some phone calls to deal with. But one was a nice one with DD1. Calls took more time than I’d anticipated. So didn’t get as much done as I’d intended ( house worky stuff...it’ll still be there tomorrow!)
Then had to wait in for mums medication that gets delivered to me. So a quick doggy walk. And a very nice chat with another new puppy in our wee estate. She was lovely ( sharp teeth though!) . My dog just barked hello from the porch! Then delivery came so we could go a proper walk. Was lovely. Sun was shining, it was dry. He was a lovely dog. He was very well behaved. And a chance to have a good sniff at everything. ( him not me)
Then it was time to go into work ( by now lashing with rain) to work on some catering ideas. Looking good!Home. In my very quiet car. DD2 is sleeping so I had a quick snacky tea and then jammies on!12 -
Hello all,
Just calling in to let you know I'm not posting because I'm helping someone sort their house out. Most of my five a day just now would be the number of bags of junk consigned to the bin. As it's someone else's life/house etc I'm reluctant to share specifics on here though. It's one thing posting my stuff on here but posting personal details of another person's life and home would be rude.
The HT and I are both healthy although his dodgy joints are sore. He's looking forward to his Christmas break from school and I'm looking forward to a break from him moaning about school. Love to you all and I hope that BoP is OK too.
Edited to add that I've checked BoP's profile and he's banned11 -
Bop banned? He can stir deliberately, I know, but means well according to his own tenets. He's had several personæ on mse over the years.
Glad to know Frith is coping, mhags. Ditto, as seen elsewhere:-)

1. Thankyou❤NHS, again. Thought 'lump?'. Re-checking since Friday=def. yes. Super-aware of current thumb care, so felt bad asking about other. Incredible response. Seen immediately at end of surgery by v.impressive, new-2-& young woman Dr.

2. Always remember Nana's 'See a penny, pick it up. All the day, you'll have good luck.'
Did so, 2p🙂, on way to pay another year's storage, in which & is so fortunate. Okay, still no Spitalfields/earning potential, but still safe and still have some savings, if much diminished. Also know how to manage healthily on little and own company.
3. Great pleasure knowing compost corner's cooking nicely. 15 years' gorgeous black silky tilth down below. Friend needed pics, so why not here as well? Definitely an osp😇.
4.
Arrived❤ Saving😋
Many virtual goodies and podcasts therein. Awaiting CDs of 'A History of the World in 100 Objects', by peerless Neil McGregor. More listening joys: glorious Goon Show

- and right now, Barack Obama's 'A Promised Land', his pathway to The White House. Wonderfully read by him - superb, wise, intelligent, empathetic, every word un mot juste.

Well, that's it then ! No more ice-cream.............
Recently been having dizzy spells. Yesterday was quite noticeable. Thought it was through lack of sleep due to horrible earache but last night took my blood pressure.........138/72. Just took it again after 5 hours sleep 143/70. Time to sort myself out. My Dad, sister and myself normally fall on the slightly low side so this is most unusual for me.
The pleasures are having the machine so not needing to wait. And then having the internet to research causes and solutions. Having all that reduces the worry immediately. And gives me a plan of action. Sorted !
I normally cook everything myself, not really liking the flavour of ready meals but yesterday there was a reduced beef lasagna, enough for 3. Heated it, added a lovely fresh salad and thoroughly enjoyed it. Who knew ?
I am now researching recipes for lasagna, having never cooked one. Always been afraid of making bechamel sauce. Anyway, don't forget, I do not like cooking !
I have always considered myself useless with my hands and definitely not creative. The flip side of that is that I appreciate/love many forms of art and have been content with having all these wonderful means (TV, Museums, Books etc) to sometimes be enraptured with the talents of others. Normally when I walk Tiggy I am either praying/having a conversation (very one sided, don't worry not completely potty yet) with God. Recently, I have been 'writing' a book. Full of magic and wonderful things. I have 2 characters that are coming along nicely. I am absolutely thrilled to discover that I DO have an imaginative/creative brain. Especially at this late stage in my life. At some point I must write everything down so that I don't forget.
I remember reading an interview many years ago where the reporter asked Magnus Magnusson if he had a favourite word. He did, and it meant 'late bloomer'. That's what I am. Wish I could remember the word.
Sorry about Blackbeard. Can he be unbanned ?
Amp, so many thanks.
Anyway, toodle-pip lovelies. Have a wonderful day.

Hugs to all those that need them and all look after yourselves. It can be easy to forget to do that.
1. Colleague much happier. She had seen her parents and it did her so much good mentally. She told me all about it.
2. After saying for months that we are to be tested for COVID twice a week and only been tested three times I now have lateral flow tests to test myself twice a week. At present I am negative.
3. Christmas tree up - no new stand as couldn't find one to buy and adapted the broken one.
4. Bangers and mash for tea. Makes me think of BOP and snorkers.
5. Lovely view of the river.12 -
VL.........this is one time you can put a huge positive light on something that is 'negative'. Big 'phew'.
VJ's Mum............you okay ?

Recent pleasures:
Food first as that is always at least one of my pleasures: delicious chicken 🐓 casserole last night with roast potatoes and enough for tonight with mash 😊
Walk with friend at one of my favourite lakes. It was pouring with rain when I got there but then the sun came out and it was beautiful
She was in a funny mood but think I cheered her up until I got a frantic phone call later to say she had lost her car key. Was on my way to her house to find spare when she phoned to say she had found it in the supermarket trolley 🙃
Had my coal effect gas fire serviced and certified safe after not using it for several years and it looks lovely and makes me feel a bit Christmassy and happy
Been awake since 4 but listened to a play on the radio which I enjoyed and got my Iceland Christmas order sorted 🎄🍷. I’ve also subscribed to Barrack Obama’s book as recommended by & which I look forward to
Have a good day 😊12 -
Thanks Mhags and Ampersand both for the kind update on Frith, good to hear she is ok.
Not so BOP, hope he is back soon.
Knee is much better thanks & will never be perfect as arthritic but no longer ouchy ouchy to walk. Glad to hear impeccable care of thumb is continuing.
For yesterday,
More sunshine, only downside it shows off how dirty my windows are so that job added to list!
The bare branches of the beech trees against a blue sky, they really are beautiful in every season.
My girlie’s head dropping lower and lower as she fell asleep enjoying her post exercise groom.
Boiler serviced, not so bad £ wise and engineer appreciative of his tea & stollen.
Fascinating programme about Hampton Court and its preparation for the festive season, loved the official blessing of the Hampton Shire horses ( who knew there was such a thing ) the young foals were especially awww.
