For yesterday,
Met both hollow legged ones plus a lovely gf for breakfast, I even had a full English which was so tasty.
Look of pride on youngest’s face as he casually picked up the bill, he’s just started first job and only now can afford to do so bless him.
Picked a few more of the apples off our tree, nearly all gone now but it’s been a good harvest this year.
Arrived at the yard just as the horses were coming in for the day, girlie was like a kite at the end of a string! Sorted through my big box in a vain search for a tub of Aloe Vera gel, I did however find a pair of riding gloves that thought I had lost.
It was a foul evening weather wise with rain lashing against the windows but felt cozy in our home.13 -
Thank you DD. I have started to read Christmas chronicles again.
1. Watching my chickens run around.
2. Seeing both a green woodpecker and a greater spotted woodpecker in the garden.
3. A former neighbour had agreed to write a letter for us which will help with an issue we are having.
4. Watching rugby and pleased Exeter won but not the greatest game.
5. Being inside with the rain and wind lashing outside. I had lit a candle and both sons were in which doesn't happen often on a Saturday.12 -
Big days of much busyness since last post.

1. Little Meriva munched 2 costly bites at MOT. Courtesy diesel car from dear Fenboys until yesterday. Lump of exhaust, sensor sthg, plus a wait for new catalytic converter. Done, d/k how much yet, but know they've done their very best for me as always. I think back over the years to many times when no bill has ever been issued. 'You're fine. Don't worry about it' - more than twelvety:-)))
Left a good Hawkes Bay red, hm/hg sauce and jelly as 'in the meantime' Thankyou.
2. Back went all those teatowels and tablecloths to SRUFC yesterday, AT LAST!
3. Toulon victory over Castres, vendredi soir. France, ma belle, sur Pays de Galles hier and other rather nice results:-) Listened to Chiefs hold off Wasps, sounded a cracker of a match.
4. Love the voice of Neil Nunes, increasingly heard as R4 continuity.
5. Spaced and masked church in a while, followed by Kettles Yard online bkd real visit for the new Alfred Wallis Exhbn. Really looking forward to this :-)

Well ! Yesterday I lost the thread( slipped down to the second page) and today MSE lost me. Had to log in again. Think someone is trying to tell me something!
Ampersand. Those tomatoes are living up to their reputation. They're magnificent!
Gorgeous sunny day, making the trees glow.
A day at home, bitting and bobbing. Always lots of loose ends to tie up.
Arranged to meet DGC in the park next week. We'll go in our car, DS will bring them in his so we can walk round together. It will be so good to see them, even in those circumstances. Not too strange really because we often took them to the park anyway!
Happy very 🌞 day everyone13 -
Art'noon all - tomorrow's pleasures (for today) are likely to include me sitting here in complete silence. Bliss - have the house to myself for a few hours, for the first time since March probably.
Anyhoo for yesterday
1. Did an hour or two in the garden - picking up the leaves and digging over the veg patch.
2. begg for breakfast (no banjo though - probablyI'm not actually sure what a banjo is).
3. The new tv arrived - however it was too big for the stand so had to dash out and buy new stand. Made it a rather more expensive telly. OH managed to put stand together (normally that sort of thing is my job) with few swear words. Although those that were said were BAD
4. Home made pizzas for tea - a bit full on to do for 4 of us but they went down well.
5. finishing my book - Wham! George and Me by Andrew Ridgeley. A must for those of us who grew up in the 80s
Have a great afternoon all.I wanna be in the room where it happens13 -
1 We popped out to pick up 2 very nice fence panels, they are perfect, made by a fence maker for someone who changed their mind sold to us on the bay for a tenner! They will replace our 2 dodgy ones, one we get nice enough weather to get some wood protector on them, but we’ve left them attached to the roof of the car at the moment because of the weather. It was a rather slow trip home as they were on the roof rack.
2 DH fixed the dishwasher again, saving us the cost of the new one.
3 Grilled chicken, salad and a couple of aunt Bessie roasties is dinner.
4 Candles on, watched the greatest showman for the first time ever, it was sweet enough but not really a rave about film it seems to be.
For today
1 Did a few kitchen bits, a pleasure to get done. Set the oven cleaning. And a cleaner throu the washing machine.
2 Paid a couple of bills a pleasure to be able to get them out of the way.
3 Mint chop and veg parcels in the oven for dinner.
4 A strict diet for us at least through next week for health reasons. Looking forward to feeling better for it.
5 Ordered a butcher pack to try out, and a treat for the ferrets of course. Just meal planned for the week ahead based on making freezer space.

Pleasures for today (Sunday)
1) A long sleep, plus an extra hour.
2) A day of cooking including lots of veg soup, HM pizza and crumble and custard.
3) Hens OK and got another meal of runner beans off the allotment.
4) Watching the Crown which is interesting and irritating in equal measure. What a shower - to say nothing of all their hangers on! From the age of 5, I've hoped the lot would be abolished - still waiting. Bigger son has binge watched The Office (new to him).
No 5 for today as a quiet day.13 -
Recent pleasures:
new tv on order didn’t arrive so I cancelled it as old one started working perfectly again! MSE £350 saved!
cleared the garden of tomato and runner bean plants and had 5 runner beans
for today’s delicious roast 🐓 dinner
last of the garden apples 🍏 for dessert topped with homemade sponge and served with ice cream 🍨
watched and enjoyed Rebecca on Netflix
night all 💤13 -
1) 9am service followed by some shopping including Slater's Christmas Chronicles for £9 from WHSmith (didn't win on the free lidl scratch card) then
2) lunch at the botanics with gbf - the botanics special - broccoli and stilton soup, sarnie and tea, very nice (his treat) then
3) lovely walk round the garden - didn't see the red squirrel but met 2 of the academics i met on screen for the first time at a meeting on friday - we gave each other a double take then realised - they were there with their two children so realised they were a couple - and then
4) back to the cafe for cake and tea (my treat - this is our current Sunday routine while we're not allowed into others' houses but are allowed into cafes till 6) then
5) i walked the dogs - met Dr No on the way - we talked briefly about my promotion (he's in the same school) then about the football - he asked what i'd be doing at 7:15, listening to the game obviously, albeit on radio 5 since nicola's stopped me from watching it at the pub. And I did. And they won so Kitty that's Luton, Leeds and Leicester all for the win. Walking the dogs I saw a fox which was fitting since Leicester is the foxes. and now watching episode 1 of LifeMrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025
