Morning! When your body clock says get up but the actual clock says ‘it’s okay not yet!’
Yesterday was a workety work day, busy busy but excellent company in the kitchen. So that made the day pass by quick enough.
Decent tips. In the jars.
Muuuuuum I’ve missed you so much...that was the dog obviously! Dog I just want to open this box. Muuuum I’ve missed you so much , let me help! New vacuum cleaner! Hurrah! Surely the third in three years will be better than the other two pieces of c-rap? Expensive but a third off original price and a five year guarantee.
so I hoovered and he barked as he doesn’t like the hoover ( though it’s a bit of a noisy game really) and this hoover has headlights!Sold some lanterns to a friend, I’d got them as part of a bundle of things a couple of months ago when all I really wanted was the mirror! Anyway they are now gone and a bit of extra money.Nice chat to friend on phone. Then went to bed as it was really later though earlier and I’m always out of sorts for a couple of days when the clocks change!Have a lovely day...I’m just going to rejuvenate the floral pumpkin I’d made for work last week. It was a bit wilty as it’s so warm . Then back to the grindstone for another day.13 -
1. Spent most of the day in the garden. In and out of greenhouse and she's with the showers. Shed is slightly tidier too.
2. Watching bluetits and chaffinches eating the sunflower seeds and a Blackburn eating the hawthorn berries.
3. Sitting having a coffee with DH in the sun. It was fairly warm.
4. A patch of garden cleared of weeds.
5. Meal out with DH cousin and husband to celebrate their wedding anniversary. A great evening had by us all.13 -
Snap, mhagster! New vacuum cleaner arrived here yesterday. A Shark cordless. Ordered Saturday pm, arrived Sunday am. Howzat for service?
Other pleasures - the little red acer glowing away in the garden, unfortunately the leaves are starting to fall. I am collecting some for Samhain decorations.
That extra hour in bed yesterday morning.
Practising choir songs.
Double fried egg banjo, didn't bother with proper lunch as son went out.
Lit a special candle for the first time. Son gave it to me for Mother's Day in March. Not only does it smell nice, when it was lit the words Loveliest Mum shone out.
Getting into another Swedish drama on More4. I watched all of Thicker than Water, now I'm on Blue Eyes. Second episode in, and it's going to be a good un.One life - your life - live it!13 -

D Doll. Love the idea of being able to meet in cafes. Seems v civilised. In tier 3 we can only meet in a public park. And it's not getting any warmer in Yorkshire!
Did go to a cafe. But with DH, so allowed as we live together!
At our local outlet store M+S have 50% off everything. Mostly random sizes but DH got an excellent winter coat reduced from original £99 to £49 to £24.50. A real bargain!! And his size happily.
Yoga is back,so we haven't even missed one week. Apparently a government U turn. Who knows? Glad it's back though.
Happy Monday everyone13 -
okay, don't all gasp in shock and horror but today I made my first ever Chilli Con Carne. Yesterday I bought some rtc beef mince and as I am heartily sick of cooking the same things all the time I took a consesus poll and this was what was chosen.
For the first time I have used hot chilli powder, smoked paprika and ground cumin. My brother loves it. OH has not offered opinion yet. I haven't tried it as I managed to trip slightly whilst holding a kettle and scold my hand with water that had just boiled. Whacked lavender oil on it so it is throbbing like mad but don't think it is going to blister.
Now for my birds. Haven't seen the crows for days. Have seen Splodgie my wood pigeon. Just love them as they won't leave until they have made sure there is no food left. Continue to feed foxes (Blackbeard took your advice and put chicken bones out for them). Gone within 10 minutes. Am sure they watch me.
There is one tiny female that has a damaged eye. She is so timid and I feel so sorry for her. I am going to name her Grace. She needs a pretty name.
So, cooking my first chilli, using new spices, seeing my wildlife, enjoying my brothers happy face, receiving a wonderful message from board member..............phew.............a day FULL of pleasures.
Hugs to all

Art'noon all - well it was when i started this post but forgot to post it...
Happy new vacuums mhags and nargle
Pleasures for yesterday
1. silence is golden - sometimes.
2. Cleaned and tidied through downstairs and had a baking hour or two.
3. DD got her new to her car (from her grandmother). She had a nice day with her also (MiL can be a bit of a 'open mouth, insert foot' where DD is concerned) and drove all the way back - the furthest she's ever driven!
4. a make-do tea cos OH froze the wrong meat and by time i realised it was too late to defrost it.
5. Watched Roadkill and just about followed what happened.
And today - as i might as well now it's so late
1. a worky day but it was ok. Caught up on some admin tasks. Now 'all' i have to do is write a research paper (stop that hysterical laughter DD)
2. DD and OH drove into the city to prepare her for her first work drive in tomorrow - she is a bit anxious generally about going back to work but is coping well
3. a quick walk round the block with OH in between showers
4. A bit of a cooking couple of hours - a veggie curry, a leek, potato and bacon bake and (yet another) crumble.
5. About to watch 'who do you think you are'.
Have a great evening allI wanna be in the room where it happens12 -
Happycas I suspect Dundee will be into stricter lockdown by 2nd November. What will be will be.
1) had 30 minutes between meetings at 12 and the weather was sunny so went out to rake the leaves and get some fresh air
2) so lunch time was 1:30 but i guess that's 12:30 old money? very nice greek salad
3) and then the skies opened so pleased I got the leaves sorted
4) walked dd2 up to mum's at 7 so she could borrow mum's car to go to her hoop class then I walked back - the moonlight on the river was beautiful
5) then went back up after supper/ episode 2 of life so i could walk dd2 backMrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

Pleasures for today (Monday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Many hours on the phone as County are now refusing to pay for smaller son's transport to school. They "might" give him a bus pass. As his new college is 24 miles away and neither it nor we are on a bus route, and smaller son can't use public transport, that isn't going to go well. Now college and SEND are looking into it, I've left an answering machine message for transport (fatal - no one in County has EVER phoned me back after receiving a message!) and I've got the MP and solicitor to try in a few days if no progress.
3) House is reasonably clean and tidy and I cleaned the bathroom.
4) Took smaller son to Sainsburys.
5) Had a big bonfire on the allotment and the hens enjoyed having a scrabble about after I dug up all the old courgette plants. Bigger son's friend joined us and it was quite funny watching his car go up and down various tracks while he tried to find us! We couldn't signal to him as the hedge is too tall and dense to shove a hoe through!
6) Watched Who Do You Think You Are?14
