Pleasures for today (Monday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Hens OK and dropped 6 eggs off for our neighbour.
3) Went to town so bigger son could sign on. Popped to the charity shops, but nothing to suit there.
4) Bigger son made a cake because we realised that an elderly friend of ours hasn't left her house since March. He decorated it too, to look like one of her dogs.
5) Tasty tea of pasta sauce (and pasta).
6) Did Saturday's virtual pub quiz.
7) Have been watching The Crown this evening.12 -
Hello ms match. Love the name!
Recently
The acer in the garden is a brilliant impossible share of red, especially when the sun shines on it. In fact, lots of trees are shining bright in autumn colours this year. But none as good as ours!!
Saw the squirrel for the first time in a while. Need to add nuts to the shopping list.
Tea of varied leftovers from the freezer. It often makes a very tasty concoction, but sadly can never be replicated.
DH had his flu jab yesterday. Bet his after effects are worse than mine were ( only lasted a few hours, and not that bad. More of an excuse to spend Sunday afternoon lying about doing nothing!)
Need to make a new mask. My current one has been washed so often it will soon be see-through.
Happy bright autumn day everyone12 -
For yesterday,
Busy, running errand kind of day. Garden centre and petrol station first.
Over to the yard, lunged girlie in the school and apart from a couple of minor differences in opinion she was very good.Fitting her light rain sheet in the washing machine, tad worried that the wee beasties that have been munching on her are in the rug so washed and hung on line.
More errands, this time CS to drop off bag of clothes then on to farm shop for F&V and final stop of the day was egg man in village.
Listed old body protector on bay of E, any proceeds will fund new one.12 -
Msmatch this is a lovely thread. Physio for bad backs - it does improve things
1. Another dry day and enjoyed the garden we visited. Full of colour even this late in the year.
2. Went to visit a NT property. We enjoyed it and had a tasty sandwich.
3. Enjoyed the evening meal.
4. Walked to and from the restaurant.
5. Finished my book.14 -
Despite bops 'encouragement':-), will try another, still buoyant🇳🇿🙏♥️🌹.

1. Sitting out now, day chilling but still more blue sky than cloud, after more walnut gathering. They hide everywhere.
2. Listening to IPL, wearing handed-on jumper knitted by London friend and reflecting on Food Hub run yesterday. Rewarding in deed - and & was further able to share along her network. Not all single things could be used in family boxes and would otherwise have to be binned! NO!
3. The triffid tomatoes are still going bonkers, happycas. A few more along kitchen window. The monster has been eaten, was lush. More beans gathered a few minutes ago. Crimbo, hopefully, potato bags now placed where lower morning sun may catch them. On verra.
4. Tonight's supper will be 2nd yum of something from which other ospers may recoil in horror. Much rtc calamari, seared then flashed with pastis, simmered with leeks, h-g aubergines, peppers, beans, chopped 'matoes and can't remember bits:-)
IT IS DIVINE.
The pastis thing came from another & life, still in the Norfolk-y Fens, and a small supermarket cookery demo. Immediately picked chef's kiwi accent and learnt about use of the divine spirit with seafood. It really works.
5. Have been v.g. and ironed all those rugby club Oktoberfest tablecloths, the metres-long blue gingham ones, the vast circular claret tent-y ones AND all the teatowels. Dozens. Smug barstewardry entitlement by & right there. Helped through by hearing Act 2 of Major Barbara on R4x as I worked.

That's 5, so I'll stop. There has been sad Alma news, not the little ones, DG.
Thinking of you Suffolk Sue, DfV and Bala, also Frith, for your boys. Their generation is being, has been, so ill-served, even without a pandemic.
Wickets are tumbling like gkw - crazy cricket times on R5x! 🏏

Waves to Mismatch
1 A sort of loungy day, bits still achieved, but there was plenty of time for tea and hm cupcake.
2 I have just meal planned for the week, but tonight is haddock as a saver as I forgot today.
3 Managed to get a wash load hung out and dried in today’s unexpectedly good weather.
4 Feeling a bit sorry for myself I suspect the flu jab, pleasure to ignore it.
5 I found something I would have loved to do to celebrate, but we have decided not to, as it just doesn’t feel safe enough for a cabaret and burlesque night.

Saw my brother who was visiting my mum before his area go into tier 3 lockdown .. Not happened yet but looks like on the way. He did some form filling for mum so I won't have to do it!

Cant think of any more, it has been a people y day so I don't feel I've got any jobs done.14
