5 OS pleasures in your day today - part 3

Evening all - no pleasures for me today as i have spent all day in bed with food poisoning.
FOr yesterday
1. DD and I cleaned ICT - it suffers when all four of us are there and it looked great when we left
2. DS had a good day at work - he hates the job (it's just a warehouse job) but saw it through. How long it lasts remains to be seen.
3. Drove home - a little frustrating with slow traffic but we made it to collect our click and collect in plenty of time.
4. Sitting in the conservatory with a gin
While our dinner of roast chicken was tasty, i think that is what has given me food poisoning so was up all night - not one wink of sleep.I wanna be in the room where it happens11 -
poor you VJsmum hopefully you’ll feel better tomorrow.Been a day of much rain though dry this evening and totally dark by 9.30pm.
Went Into to town with DD1 and friend. Had a mooch around charity shops. Got a big thick cardigan...thinking ahead! A vest top...still hopeful of nice days and a sleeveless dressy top...in case I get to go somewhere nice! Then two black tops with work in mind! And a china hen! That holds eggs. I already have a couple, my children hate them which makes me love them more! The girls saw a vintage coffee set that was purchased for Melbourne life, they are going to house share when they go back. It’s been all washed and in my dresser. ( tight squeeze)
Had a very cheap lunch at supermarket. Half price macaroni. And very good social distancing.
Home and rested my foot. We’d parked at college so was free but it’s a hike back uphill. May have snoozed.Friend was picking up sideboard and side table. Hurrah! Gone. Gave me a beautiful bunch of yellow roses .
Chatter and laughter and tent putting upping...my girls are going camping.Made BLT for tea with Rtc ciabatta & tiny roast potatoes from my garden and salad.More chatter. Then quiet.11 -
Hope you're well on the mend, VJsmum.
Pleasures for today (Monday)
1) Bit of a lie in.
2) Hens OK. 4 eggs today and 3 tomatoes.
3) An annoying afternoon trying to deal with the car. The first garage was quite unhelpful so we went to a second and managed to get the obscure fuse we wanted. Still no handbrake and the bill would be hundreds to repair (silly electric thing) so on the look out for a replacement car.
4) Had to stop in Tescos car park in rain too torrential to drive through! Popped to Tesco for a few bits.
5) No one got back to me about smaller son's draft EHCP. I had asked Autism West Midlands, Cerebra, Contact, the solicitor, even another mum with experience in this area - nothing. I cobbled it together the best I could (with no real experience, or any legal experience at all). The last 20 months have been a complete shambles. The worst bit is knowing that no one really cares or would even know I had to do this task today.
6) Went to see my parents and had not seen them for a couple of weeks following a very strained meet up for smaller son's birthday. (We 3 weren't strained, but many arguments and recriminations thrown around by everyone else!) It was rather tense today.
7) Bigger son went out to do some filming then reappeared and we had burgers for tea, then watermelon.

VJsmum hope you feel better soon.
1. Met my Mum briefly at work. She was going for an x -ray first thing so I met her before I started. She has long standing back issues but everyone other than GO thought she should have an MRI and not x-ray.
It was good to see het.
2. Survived the day at work - it's hard going at the moment.
3. Spent some time in the garden. It improves my mood .
4. DS2 cooked tea which was tasty.
5. Reading my book.
I've been trying and succeeding to watch less tv.12 -
Hope your poorly tum is better now VJS food poisoning is horrible.
For yesterday,
Beloved did the monthly SM shop and surprised me some sunflowers which look smashing on the hearth, he did however miss out one whole section on the list so no fish!
Time spent with girlie, there are some blackberry bushes at the back of her field and she waits patiently whilst I pick the tastiest specimens for her, spoilt pony? Maybe ☺️
Pottering around the house and doing loads of small, niggly jobs that get put off for ages.
A rainbow in the evening sky.
Stir fry veg with noodles for tea, we were supposed to be having fresh mackerel with it but as per #1, I opened a tin instead and it was surprisingly good.

Well really !
Couldn't make this up if I tried. Forgot to put food out for fox (again) and he pooped in the water bowl. Again !
My brother is here. YIPPEE............
Picked him up and I could see he was really tense but well done him for making the 2 hour journey. He wouldn't hug me (even though we were both masked and he is a foot taller than me ) so we elbow bumped. Once I got him home he relaxed and it was wonderful.
On the train journey to my area he told me that he wants to stay until Christmas !
I tried to explain that it's 5 months away and he responded with 'don't worry, time flies'. I had to giggle. He has absolutely no concept of time. Part of his LD's.
I feel happy/content this morning. I have plans that are uplifting whilst they are thoughts. He is desperate to work. I am going to turn his mind to training for something. Get him thinking. Up until now all jobs have been menial and slavery. But he likes to work. So much exploring to be done.
VJ's Mum.............get well soon. And rest.

Yesterday
Yoga again. Good to be back
Coffee and cake afterwards at nearby garden centre. Half price too.
Picked gladioli and alstromeria (sp?) which had been battered by the rain. They look beautiful in a vase with eucalyptus leaves.
Today
Trip to market. Lots of lovely fruit and veg, very cheap. Almost too heavy to carry.
First try with new air fryer. Excellent chips!
Day of sunshine and showers. Don't know where we are!
Happy evening everyone
