Vjsmum, ouch but glad you are gradually feeling better.
The happiness is shining through in your posts Bala.
1 Its softly softly with the new animals, very definitely 1 step forward, 2 back at the moment.
2 Hoovered the whole house, cleaned the sofa and fridge, and tidied out where we have extra stock in the cupboards which is getting in the way.
3 Exercise, a half hour today, 1 hour tomorrow then resting for 4 days.
4 Cheese and coleslaw roll, and grilled chicken with salad for dinner was lovely.
5 I'm looking forward to taking time to read a little, well pretty much as soon as I finish this post ;-)

Pleasures for today (Wednesday)
1) A lie in.
2) Got a few jobs done.
3) Bigger son had a good second driving lesson.
4) Hens OK (they had 2 corn on the cobs with their food) but torrential rain so I couldn't stop.
5) Went round the charity shops in floody city but didn't buy anything. Bigger son had bought a second hand camera off someone online, so we picked that up on our way home.
6) Watched Reported Missing.
Going to bed in a minute as we're going to do some cleaning at my friend's house tomorrow, while she's in hospital (she does know!)14 -
Nearing 5 bells, as so often.
Catch-up reads here are always a pleasure - even vjm tum and your ouchy! one mhags (tin/finger/slice - extreme Eeek!) - with very special memory hugs to you today.👰

Pick'n'mix from recent & -
1. Actual Communion, socially distanced, in a small church yesterday, same one that held jumble in rain on Saturday. & attended, needless to say. So good to see, chat, fundraise with familiar faces.
2. Another mercy mission (not quite shades of PK) - urgent transport for young person to Town of Eels hospital when village surgery decreed x-ray NOW. This coincided with even worse flash flooding than closed the M11 when & was diverted back from London on Sunday! Horrendous and dangerous, even to & who loves and knows big weather. All 3 types of lightning and massive thunder overhead. Entered the old RAF facility @5 careful mph under live Noah's flooding. Young person drenched entering unit. Sun blazing on departure, 3hrs later. Prescriptions etc. sorted in Town of Horse en rte back.
That was Monday, all unplanned:-)
3. Tackling the tomato jungle which burgeons on, despite heads chopped at height of eaves. &has to use ladder! Nothing ripening, fruits slow appearing and fattening. In fact, it's mixed jungling, with grape, sessile oak, runner beans, tomatoes and (unwise newish)virginia creeper all showing humans how they should behave.
4. Good WhatsApp chats. With Spain, updates on their situ covid19. Ok after precautionary local shutdown and €work income stream happening again. (Not so for &) Lovely chats with London after Sunday in their church again. Took many figs to share:-) The beautiful crop continues.
5. Suddenly seen yesterday - 2 surprises. Another wrong-time-of-year bloomer

Whose is it?
Sadly, fox dug in, took young neighbours' quails Monday night. & found one carcass in back field.

Today's excitements:
& has an early timed slot tip run+trailer, then transporting no-car person to deliver a large live fish!
Tbc.......:-)
*Masks and gloves are consistently worn. Please keep doing the same.*

1. Work was ok- it was last Wednesday at my main place or work for a while or forever who knows. I certainly don't. It's clinics that on the who!e I enjoy and I feel sorry for 2 of the people staying. Instead of doing about 1/3 if the work they will be doing about 1/2 the work!
2. Pleased I made decision to drive all the way to work otherwise I would have got rather wet as it poured with rain when I left work.
3. Quick chat with neighbour. Other neighbour has CCTV at front of his house now. Not sure why but hasn't out up sign saying he has it yet.
4. DS1 went to the cinema, DH did some invoicing work and DS2 cooked them went upstairs to go on his PlayStation so a quiet evey.
5. Enjoyed my book.14 -
Morning everyone
Recent pleasures:
Managed my walk in the sunshine and my click and collect shopping in the dry but unloaded it in the pouring rain!
Enjoyed lunch out with a friend on Tuesday on the special deal , first time in a pub
As that went well had early dinner yesterday in a pub with OH Was greedy and had 3 courses so bill was much bigger than expected as forgot deal is up to £10 each.
Woke up to sunshine ☀️ today.
OH day off today so some gardening, change the hot tub water and expecting an ex colleague to pop in later.
Have a good day 😊13 -
For yesterday,
Up & at’em early and much achieved including the meat sauce prepared for lasagne tea later.
Met lovely farrier at yard for him to remove girlie’s front shoes as have decided to let her go native. He walked out to the paddocks with me and did her in the field. He had spent the morning at nearby stud doing the brood mares.
More rain but very warm, one of the yuck moments when tried to wear waterproof over bare arms and lining stuck, more preferable to get wet.
Bid and won on eBay item, map of old Lancashire as surprise for beloved.
Watched the 2nd half of the programme about Christopher Jefferies, very good but best news of the night was that there is a 3rd series of the Mortimer & Whitehouse fishing programme starting on Sunday night.14 -
Pleasures for yesterday...
Walk down a bridle path with dog, picking blackberries. Not many, a bit misshapen, but still enough to go in a crumble. I shall continue picking blackberries over the next two weeks, there are lots of places around the village.
Dog kept lying down in muddy puddles so got chucked in the shower and washed with her special doggy shampoo.I now have a silky, shiny, lavender-scented dog.
Promised rain didn't materialise until late afternoon so I got two washloads out on the line and dried.
Salmon wrapped in foil and cooked in the oven, doused with garlic, soy sauce and sweet chilli sauce. Really flavoursome.
Lovely evening shower using a luxurious bar of honey and oatmeal soap handmade by a friend.
Fresh clean bedlinen on the bed last night. One life - your life - live it!15 -
VJsmum said:5. having an ensuite.
1) haircut #2. with the massaging chair and updates on Queen Zelda (my hairdresser's queen ant, his mother still doesn't know she is sharing a house with a potential ant colony)
2) called into chemist for hair dye - their till was playing up and needed rebooting, 5 - 10 minutes, so went next door to get a take-away tea, sat on the wall opposite and read my book. very restful
3) and the delay meant I met a friend I've only seen once since lockdown walking to work (the botanic gardens) - i live half way between his house and the BG so we had a good catch-up
4) then met another friend from church and he asked if 1st friend was my dad. ouch (he'll collect his pension in September, I turn 57 later this month). I like to think it's cos i now look so young after losing weight and doing my workouts
5) we brush over work. stressful. instead we nip to supper time - dyed my hair then gbf came round to walk the dogs and have bangers and mash. bop I knows you will approveMrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025
