More than a bit windy today, and some rain too.
Went to Asda today. First time since Feb. Was ok really. Not much different from normal apart from masks, of course. Felt quite civilised.
Then to nearby discount outlet. One cafe shut, and one with less than half the usual seats so came home. But not before I bought some leather sandals reduced from £34 to £8!! Very long queues outside Clark's of people waiting to have chidrens' feet measured. I guess they are assuming schools will reopen soon.
Bit of a contretemps with BT sorted, after I'd been on hold for ages. Trying to decide if my time is worth more than about £12
per hour, or whether I should just have let it slide. But it's the principal!
Happy blowy day everyone11 -
Hello. A day of much rain but also windy and dry spells so washing was flung on line and hoped for the best. Best was about 3/4 dry. Going to put heating on for half an hour to finish it off.Girls set off squabbling and a four hour drive to squabble through! See ya next week! It was lashing as they packed the car.
went to supermarket. Met a friend and chatted.
went to vets to pick up dogs meds. Almost fainted at price again ! However they do work so just have to suck it up and find other ways to save money.
Bathrooms were cleaned and my bedroom is tidy. Put my new to me things in wardrobe.Son made tea - fajitas ( using allotment courgette and spring onions) and guest washed up.shes in DD2 room for a few days whilst she’s away so at least my living room can be a living room again!Started watching The Handmaids Tale. Still not sure...any advice ...persevere or don’t waste my time?Sue hope your week has been okay. Much love x
VJ Mum aaargh to gastro. Had it twice and it’s ghastly.

Pleasures for today (Friday)
1) A lie in.
2) Hens well.
3) Did a few odd jobs and tidying up.
4) Jamie Oliver's veg chilli in wraps for lunch. Broccoli, leek and pasta cheese for tea.
5) Watched Gardener's World.
It seems as though all my friends are going through incredibly difficult times at the moment, with illness, bereavement and so on. I probably shouldn't type this but... a former boyfriend of mine (divorced for over a decade) continues to send his youngest son to stay with his mother, despite the fact that she is, and always was, an incredibly violent and unpleasant alcoholic. She still phones her sons and my ex every night at length and he still refuses to cut contact or take any action. So the youngest is there once again, hundreds of miles away, being shouted and screamed at. Randomly, she decided to phone bigger son a few days ago (best friend of the youngest son) and have a screaming fit at him (!) After all these years of not commenting, I have messaged my ex tonight to say I feel sorry for his son being made to stop there and still face a horrible atmosphere that he has had to endure his whole life and that I wish I had intervened and called the police. I'm angry at the mother for being nasty, for her new boyfriend for lying on the floor while she assaults him (and I shouldn't be angry at him, poor guy, but I am a bit) and I'm angry at my ex for still making awful decisions and still bowing and scraping to her, at the expense of everyone else. Perhaps he likes the drama and attention from her. I'm angry with myself for ever going out with such a feeble man and for not taking more action on this occasion and on previous occasions.13 -

For yesterday,
A busy day of doing housework and errands but that’s ok.
Two more packages from postie, beloved was delighted with the map of Lancashire and I got a pretty little preserve jar in my favourite Toni Raymond pottery, With it’s autumn fruits decorations it’s gone straight on the mantle.
The moment when I sat down mid afternoon with a cuppa, knowing that the house was clean and tidy.
Evening walk, many small branches down in the high winds but all trees ok.
Saw Mama deer and fawn for the first time in a couple of weeks, I had feared the worst so good to see. The baby has grown quite a bit and hopefully will now survive.13 -
Morning - still not well. Have happy hols, VL
Frith - that does not sound good at all
Mhags - loved the book, am now not tempted to try the series
Pleasures for yesterday
1. My OH being nursemaid - and also doing all the things he doesn't realise that i do as routine
2. our new fire is in
3. the doctor is still seemingly unconcerned (though is running some tests). The unconcern is a pleasure as it feels like my insides have been liquidised but is not something that's unusual for him (sorry if TMI)
4. a boiled egg and some white fish - food variety
5. managed to get to sleep ok tonight - unlike previously..
I've so far lost half a stone in a week. I know i planned to lose 10 - 12lb this autumn but this is rather a drastic way to do so (i know, <<sigh>> it all goes back once normality resumes).I wanna be in the room where it happens13 -

Now a catch ups from BoP!
Has bins quiet busy last days, so here is your BoP catch up. Usuals as always! Had some grate foods, proper foods. Pimpers Shrimps inn chilli sauce and rise. Proper food, with added dogs! Far better than Jimmy the Cooks food! Right tasty!
Last nite we had the salmon cakes of fish with haricot has bins inn tom sauce! They are very good from the A!D1. As I am awares and come from Fish Town, At A!D1 they bee £1.15, at w8r5 they are £3. Pennies better inn BoP's pocket for wobbleade than their greasy palms!
On Thursday knight, found a classsic D i c k Tracy! Dastardly, it was on the talkie pictures channel! Cocoa and cheeses were consumed. As I finds the Tracy thing, we watched another last nite. D i c k Tracy vs Cueball! More dastardly than the previous. Car crashes like yous never seen! Wobbleades and cheeses were consumed last night!
Washed and cleaned BoP's wheels this morning, checked her waters and oil. Good to roll again for a weak!
Still waiting for new paws. Neighbour came round to say her cat has missed Raffles! He was just king of the strut around BoP's parish!
That is all for nows, cricket back on!
I just want to remind you to keep safe!

Bala - I love your posts, especially now you're so happy to have your brother with you.
VJ's mum - have you tried ginger biscuits? Nice to nibble on and they do seem to help settle the tum ( while upping the blood sugar as well!)
Frith - what a turmoil. And how wrong not to protect children from nastiness.
S Sue - still sending love and hugs your way.
More flowers picked from the garden. Just the ones bashed down by the wind, but it's made a lovely autumny display.
Nearly finished knitting tiny teddy. It's getting cool enough in an evening to resume the blanket now.
About to start sewing some bags to use at Christmas instead of wrapping paper. Not Christmassy material so don't know if I'll change my mind nearer the time. They might look odd under the tree, but won't waste paper, and will be useful all year.
Happy windy day everyone12
