1) washing out first thing
2) lovely avocado and walnut salad sat out in the garden
3) ds phoned for a catch-up - i'd sent him a booklet called '30 poets go to the pub' - very fun
4) walked dogs round to mum's after work - we watched lowlights of the cricket then escape to the chateau (first time i've seen it) - good fun
5) then dd2 got back from Falkirk -she'd borrowed mum's car
And now it's another sunny. day. Another load of washing ready to go out, the other half of the avocado and walnut salad for lunch but finishing at 3:30 to meet up with friends not seen before lockdownMrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

1. Made it back to my car! My back went in the car in way too work. Hoped that walking would help but it didn't.
2. Home eventually and painkillers and anti-spam medication started to help.
3. Day of looking after my back.

Pleasures for today (Friday)
1) A lie in.
2) Many phone calls to solicitor (who is so half soaked compared to the last guy) and the parent partnership lady, who was nearly incandescent with rage about the whole thing. Had to ask the County Council for a breakdown of their reasoning (i.e why a disabled student who has been in special schools since he was 8 would suddenly need a mainstream school) and they shiftily sent me a page of an email that didn't cover what I asked for at all!
3) Had to go out in the car (34 degrees) for hen food and to go to the printers to get my driving licence photocopied for the solicitor (no, I don't know why either). Popped to Aldi and got a few bits.
4) Hens OK and 3 eggs.
5) HM chicken nuggets for tea, with baked beans plus chips from the van. Eton Mess for pudding.
6) Have been watching tv all evening in front of the van.13 -
Good morning
Back to the seaside - us and most of Yorkshire, judging by the traffic jams en route yesterday! I kept looking at the hedgerows full of blackberries when we were stopped and wanting to jump out and pick some!!
Caravan site busiest we've seen it in the five years we've been here, but still plenty of room for all. Won't venture far over the weekend. Will stay hermit like until the crowds thin out.
Sunny today, but not as hot as yesterday. Think that's our heatwave gone! I'm sure I was meant to live in a much hotter country than this one. It's never too hot for me, but is frequently too cold.
Didn't want to bring blanket with me to knit, so brought wool and needles to make tiny teddies. Not sure who for yet.
Happy 🌞 Saturday everyone14 -
News on the Hoooman watch................
In the last few months have had a very clever fox that used the bin liner to lever the lid off the bin. Used to get up in the morning to an almighty mess until I caught her/him one night and now we only use that dustbin for garden waste.
However, a very young fox is visiting regularly. Like my birds, very distinct markings. The other night he/she stopped to watch me.........as I was watching it. It was the day of the blackberries. My offerings were rejected by all the birds but this little fox came back and ate them. I know this because all the blackberries were gone...........and it pooped on the table ! ........... tee-hee

For yesterday
1 For today I have been fighting tiredness for a couple of days but I turned off the alarm and slept through this morning.
2 A lazy day and spent an hour or so just cuddling our ill chap on my lap as he’s furless we can’t let him in the garden in this weather but he was determined to go out for a quick amble before heading back to me.
3 A hopefully easy tea as yesterdays planned food will be tonight’s but it appears to have bubbled up even thou it was in the fridge in fairness I complained to asda online sending a photo, and they gave me an immediate refund.
4 I booked in our flu jabs online for October, I’m impressed with being able to.
5 I’m hoping to get an hours exercise in either later tonight or tomorrow evening when it’s a bit cooler.

A quiet day though nice and warm.Just spent day at home ( bit labyrinthitis-y again) .
But do now have a tidy cutlery drawer. Downstairs loo cleaned. Found screws in said tidy cutlery drawer and was able to put up a rail in porch. Downstairs hoovered and floors washed. Sat in garden for a bit but too warm for me.
Had an egg sandwich for tea! Couldn’t be bothered cooking ( well any more than a hard boiled egg) just for me as DS up a mountain and DD2 was out.12
