5 OS pleasures in your day today - part 3

Good morning all, pleasures for yesterday....
1. Made cheese scones
2. Best friend walked through the door as scones came out of the oven so hugs and a couple of hours putting the world to rights. First time I've seen him since February (we talk a lot via technology though).
3. Being able to make up a treat box for friend with scones and cake
4. Managed to make a weeks worth of breakfast waffles for the HT
5. Tidied spare bedroom so it doesn't look like the stuff piled up on the bed has been stirred with a spoon. My pc, all my wool for knitting/crochet and my electric piano are all in there so I spend a fair bit of time there when I'm not doing house or baking type things. I don't like it when it starts to look too messy. The problem is that coming from a 5 storey 4 bedroom house to this little 2 storey 3 bed house, when we moved in, we filled the place despite having given away/sold at least a third of the things that were in the old house. There's a constant feeling of juggling stuff trying to find places to put things away. Then when they're put away I forget where I've put them and I spend ages trying to find what I need.I need to declutter but I already have a bag of books waiting to go to the charity shop.
Frith I love reading about your new hens and I'm sorry about bigger son's job. Didn't you say he still had clothes and things over there. Are the company going to send them home or does he have to go and fetch them?
Take care all of you15 -
Good morning
An unbroken night's sleep. Worthy of mention as it happens approx twice a year
New tv, due to be delivered on Tuesday, has just arrived at 7:45 am!
Shopping trip to town yesterday, complete with masks. All fairly normal actually. Had a mid shop coffee and cake,( without masks). Went to the butcher on the market who kept us going with deliveries through lockdown. Pleased to see he was quite busy.
Did some housework. I don't like doing housework in an afternoon, but as we've been out most mornings, and no elves have popped in, I had to do it.
Rewatching Cormoran Strike series. Sometimes not having a good memory can be a blessing! It's not that long since we saw them but neither of us can remember what's going to happen next!
Happy 🌞Saturday everyone14 -
For yesterday,
Out to the pet store and also put petrol in car, gratified to see all adhering to mask wearing.
My bronze fennel has seed heads, hope to collect some for next year.
Mr Sparrow Hawk was sitting on top of a fence post opposite house, garden was unsurprisingly silent of bird chatter.
Watched another in the Wild Year series, this time it was the Pembrokeshire coast, stunning.
Mama deer and her fawn were feeding in the field again, suspect they have made a home in the large hawthorn hedges surrounding it.15 -
Morning all
recent pleasures:
Made Cheat’s Katsu curry last night. First time we’ve had it and it was rather delicious 😊
Builder came and did final (hopefully) 2 snags from kitchen/dining room project
Listening to music (Rumer) on wireless headphones in the hot tub- Very decadent I know! Was lovely 😊
lie in this morning reading all your pleasures - nowhere I have to be
Thinking of chalk painting some of my old dining room furniture rather than buying new, probably inferior stuff. What do you think. Have you tried this?
Hugs 🤗 to Suffolk Sue 😊😘15 -
Happy anniversary SuffolkSue, and it's good you can still crack a joke despite the circumstances. Sometimes a bit of dark humour is just the right thing.
Pleasures yesterday......
Waking up, knowing I am now off work till a week on Tuesday.
Son out at friend's house all day, Harry Potter film marathon, so had the place to myself, nice for a change.
My usual coffee after walking the dog, consumed with homemade wholemeal toast and honey whilst catching up with emails.
Vacuumed everywhere and changed my hearth decoration to the Lammas theme - August 1st is coming soon.
Drum roll...I went to the hairdresser and now have a proper haircut! I go back in two weeks to have the colour done.
Picky bits at teatime - peanut butter sandwiches, banana, fresh mange touts from the garden, wild cherries picked on a dog walk the other day, cheese and onion crisps, choccy crack (a low carb homemade chocolate).
Watched Down to Earth on Netflix, all about sustainable living, very interesting.
Fresh linen on the bed last night.
I like playing classical music to relax to when in bed. I discovered last night I could play Classic FM on Alexa, and ask Alexa to switch off after 30 minutes, very useful. Saves me having to think of tunes for her to play.

That is really what it is like being BoP!

Box of food was made by BoPsie, but she skimped on the toms! It will not happen again as she needs supervision! Three cakes of jaffa were also had. they had proper tea as well!
Came home as we had reversion foods from A1D! Chicken kajons and bargies! They are far betterer than those on the ho ho, Sebastian and Josephine count at w8r5! Fresh. We hads they egg of scotts the other day, and it was also very good. Yoke no blues either! Doubt if w8r5 will see me boots again!
Then as BoP has said he has runs outtas flix at the moment, we watched uni of challenge, so now up to date and some old Tours of Grand! Wobbleades, cheeses and nuts were consumed. Proper cheese, the woods of apple. BoP got a big chunk. It is maturing in the dish for cheeses!
Missed agin the vets brakefest as the wimps inn the jug place are afraid we will be all over the joint. Stuff them.we have otehr placesd as well. There loss not ours! So hads the usual, all from A1D! Two apples snorkers, best back, toms, tinned toms, mushrooms, fryed tatties, toast topped with poached egg. Tea was drinked! Orange juice was all so drinked! Gots the wings of chicken out of the freezer for supper. No need for recipe as I don't need Jimmy the Cook! They are maturing inn their marinade on the side!
Unfortuately, Raffles who has worked so hard to save the Hatters and sink the Kittens this weak, has not managed to get the whether rite for the BBQ. It is cancelled! He has yet to use his new post for scratching!
Now watching the cricket. Useless. No further comment!
Commented last about the vagrancy and veterans. Later same day another had taken their life! I see the usuals on the buckfarce page of mes AFVBC page. Pitty is we don't see the ones that are not there!
PM2DD KO Sept! Bring it on! No, wait too weaks and fill the grounds?
Is all from BoP this day!
Ikea has bin sold to the Germans and their meatballs have bin replaced by snorkers. It is the wurst thing to happen!
